Raining hella hard today! Needed our safety check done today so we called everywhere in Waipahu but they all said "cannot cuz raining" or they won't pick up their calls or they're closed or they don't do safety inspections. So we're here tryna look up for a place to get safety and boom! I called up Master Mechanic and they took us in. No appointment needed. I've been having transmission problems that started in May, it's September now. I've had 3 mechanics take a look at it. The first mechanic was a joke. I got ripped off for $907 just to replace my torque converter seals. The problem gotten worse. The second guy was a little too honest. $5,610 was the price for a brand new transmission. Not including the labor to install. So, I had to make something happen at the right price. So, I had to call around, on the island, hoping to find a used transmission at the right price. I got lucky and found one for $1,200. It was just pulled 4 days ago from the same car as mine. I asked if they knew of anyone and he said yes. Let me ask if he'll do it. I waited and the next morning he. alls me back and says he found someone. So on my way down to pay for the transmission. I contacted Hardy at Master Mechanics to made the arrangements. The place I bought the transmission from told me that he'll deliver it for me the next day at 10am. The following day i had my car towed by 10am and as agreed the transmission was at Master Mechanics waiting. I gave the key to Hardy and he says that he'll call me when he's done. I get a call just past 330pm. It was Hardy telling me to come pick my car up. Finished! Un-Freakin-believe-able! Less than 6 hours later. More than 3 months ago nobody. Less than 6 hours it was done. Hardy's the man! I thought I had lost hope. The worst part was that I drive for UBER. So no money was coming in for over 3 months. It's been more than a week since I've had my car fixed by Hardy and his crew at Master Mechanics and I don't have any worries on his repairs to my car. Master Mechanics and Hardy are my hero's. 3/23/2021 Hearty from Master Mechanics was referred to me by Jermal at Discount Auto Parts in Kapolei, where I bought a used engine for my 2009 Toyota Sienna van. The engine was delivered the next day to Master Mechanics and I dropped my van a day later. The engine was swapped in 3 days. My van now drives well. Excellent job by Master Mechanics. $$$Helped me save THOUSANDS!!! I went to these mechanics with a major problem, my 1990 Toyota 4Runner with over 200k engine had a cracked engine block. That means death for a motor. I then proceeded to get quotes from various mechanics including a Toyota dealer mechanic. They all had quoted me between 4-5k which is about right. They get used vehicles from private owners or auction. So impressive the way they are able to restore vehicles!!! They recently hooked my girlfirend'a husband with a 2014 Ford F-150 4x4 truck, extendee cab and long, flat bed! Took my car to the closest mechanic which was these guys. I didnt research prior because i needed to fix a trans leak, should be a simple seal. He didnt call me or return my calls even tho i left messages and walked in and left a message until a week later. Made me really worried. He didnt want to work further until i came and gave him my opinion which was suspicious. Our conversation got intense because he didnt want to work further and i told him "im not even a mechanic, what does my opinion matter? Just fix it without my opinion" and his response was "thats all i needed to hear" super suspicious. Took some pics and showed me his opinion which was nice. And also suggested to me to change the axle. I told him i dont think a new axle will prevent a leak and he said it will eliminate a possibility. To me that made no sense but i took his suggestion. So we ruled out ALL possibilities because he changed everything he suggested. A week later my car breaks down because it was leaking trans fluid the whole time and i didnt even know about it. Honest, knowledgable, fair price and experienced. These guys are "my mechanic" now. I have gone to them 3 times, once to get a quote on a transmission seal that came in at over 900 less than other places on the island. The second time, I had a refurbished alternor installed, which saved me a lot of money compared to other places. The third time, I needed transmission fluid added to my pain in the butt Isuzu Rodeo, so the car needs to be lifted to do that. I got a quote from Cutter Ford in Aiea for 189.99, plus tax and I couldn't get an appointment for another 3 weeks. Master Mechanics in Waipahu double checked to see what I really needed (transmission fluid, the same job that I assed Cutter to do) and took care of the issue the very next day for 23.07 plus tax. Thank you Master Mechanic for saving my car!!!! I have been driving my beloved 2000 Toyota 4Runner since high school and it has been my main ride ever since. I shipped my car out to Hawaii a few years ago and has been a perfect beach car. Recently I have been noticing some problems.. slow oil leaks, and severe shaking of the engine. After taking my car to multiple mechanics in Honolulu they told me that the spark plug had been stripped out and they may have to change the gasket head that could potentially cost up to $5000 to fix and said my car is not worth fixing. I ended up taking my car to Master Mechanic, my boyfriend's family's Mechanic. They found out there were cracks in the cylinder heads and told me the best solution is to switch out the engine. They were able to do so for a very good price and now my car is up and running perfectly. I can't thank Master Mechanic enough for saving my car.
