Twice now I have gone to get gel removal and they use an e-file WAY to close to your actual nails, I yelped in pain as i felt the shooting burn go through my nail bed as they filed and the technician didn't even apologize. For the last 3 days my nails have hurt to touch, they are pink and you can see the uneven top layer through the polish, at least I asked for the short because they're all breaking now anyways from being so extremely thin. I was disappointed in my experience with nail tech Tiara. She was far too aggressive with the drill, to the point of bleeding on multiple accounts. She still proceeded to use acetone and liquid bandage over the cuts, which was extremely uncomfortable (not to mention unsanitary). While I understand accidents can happen with such a procedure, I was disappointed that it happened multiple times without apology. Her only acknowledgement was something along the lines of "girl, you're bleeding everywhere." Every nail is misshapen, too. I've gone to M nails a few times now and every single time I am completely disappointed. My most recent visit was the worst of them all, which is why I feel obligated to write this review. I went in on a Tuesday at 3pm for a regular pedicure and gel manicure. They were moderately busy but I did not have to wait. However, typically when I get a pedicure and gel manicure even without a wait it takes about an hour. Not this time. I believe the woman who did my mani/pedi was named Kathy and she rushed through everything and I was done in 30 minutes. Unfortunately, my nails look like a 5 year old did them because she was rushing so much. There is polish all over the skin around my nails, the color is patchy, and the polish is bumpy/not level. I will NOT be going back to M nails again. There are much better nail salons in Pittsburgh that do way better job. read more

i love this place! i've recently been looking for a new nail salon in Pittsburgh, and i was so lucky to run across this place. the first place i went to was booked for the whole week even though they technically take walk ins, but m's was able to fit me in within the hour. they have an array of color selection and i ran into some regulars who love it too. the environment is very friendly and my nails are exactly what i asked for. I have been to M nails several times over the past few years, and this location always gives me issues (the one on walnut is much better). I made an appointment for a gel manicure. I got there, told them I had an appointment, and picked out my color. 15, 30 minutes go by. No big deal, sometimes things run behind. Now approaching 45 minutes past my appointment time, I'm told to sit down at the nail station. I mentioned to the tech that it had been quite a bit of time since I came in, and I wasn't pleased because I had made an appointment and walk-in's were taken before me. She said "too bad, you came late so we take you late". I did not come late, and she was just plain rude. She then proceeded to rush through my manicure in 20 minutes (usually takes at least 40), and did a pretty bang up job. She was rude the whole time. I will not be returning. The customer service is terrible and don't bother making an appointment, they don't honor them. read more

They don't care about quality and a bit dishonest.... I came in here Christmas Eve just to have a basic red nail polish (not gel) to get festive for the holiday and they told me $12. I asked to have a bit of green for the top of nails and they said sure, $12. I was certain all was ok with the price. But when I go to check out they charged me an extra $5 because of the green tips!!!! So instead of $12 it became $17. I was very upset. And, to top it off, the service was terrible! She slapped on the red, and without waiting for the nails to dry, she slaps on the green. After sitting for more than 10 MINUTES under the fan, the tips were sliding off and chipped. M Nails is the only salon I use to get manicures and pedicures. I get my nails done here bi-weekly--usually gel polish, but I've also gotten a dip manicure. They also do acrylics. One of the best things about getting a gel manicure at M Nails is that when you pick your polish from their wide range of options, they have matching gel polish in that color as well. At other salons, the gel options are fewer than the normal polish options--not at M. They also have more dip color options than I've ever seen at a salon. Therefore, no matter what type of manicure you want, you'll be able to get the exact color you want as well. Everyone who has manicured my nails at M Nails is meticulous and professional. I always love the results. Walk-ins are always welcome, but if you catch them at a busy time you may have to wait a bit. If I wanted my nails to look like I had done them, I wouldn't have made an appointment and paid to have them done. I had called a week earlier to make an appointment for gel with design. The entire process took over an hour and three different people took turns while also working on their own clients to do this. My nails are not only sloppy, but there are dust bits that were trapped then cured into the gel because no one bothered to pay any attention while doing them. The prices are a little higher than other nail salons, but the quality is great and it's also located on Walnut street so the price range is somewhat expected. Gel manicure is $35 and lasts 3-4 weeks. Pedicure is $33 and like all pedicures, lasts forever. It's SUPER busy on the weekends so I avoid going at all costs and I try making an appointment ahead of time, when I don't make an appt during the week the wait is only 5-10 mins. I've been going to M-Nails consistently about every 2 weeks since the fall and I don't trust anyone else with my nails! They are very kind, manicurists are METICULOUS, and they will always make right any mistakes (even if it's your fault‍). Don't bother making an appointment because they don't respect or honor appointments here. No one writes down the appointments or names, so don't expect to get your nails done at all. The first time, I made a appointment for 5:00pm, arrived at 10 to 5 and sat--fully ignored--for 40 minutes. Foolishly, I tried again, and the exact same thing happened. If they ask you to "pick a color", run for the door, because you will sit and sit with no technician in sight. Really unprofessional and generally rude. Go to Salon Blanca on Liberty. It's beautiful and professional! Or try the Center Avenue behind Panera if you'd like friendly service. By the way, there's no price list posted here, so you have to just pay whatever they say. read more

Ok Second don't bother to get appointment because nobody's know how appointment works in there. They don't writ name down and they take whoever walks in and anyways they rush through things with everybody. I have tried both ways. And I mean RUSH. Almost hurting your fingers and nails because she wants to have the best control doing the nails so she can get get it done in less than 30 mins. NO RESPECT. Even when she hurt me didn't say sorry or acknowledge it at all. Every time i end up being stressed and anxious just bc if they all are in rush.This was not the first or second time and I don't know why I foolishly went back. Last but not least is ... awful Hygiene. Tables, Floor, towels, chairs ... nothing is clean anymore and again bc they rush customers one after one they don't even clean the pedi tub ... like what the hell. Complete mistake. read more
