    Salted Egg Custard Buns(4)
    Sarah C.

One of the most underrated dumpling spots in the South Bay. This is our go to spot when we want XLBs and pan fried buns done RIGHT. We usually order the combo meal for 2 of us which comes with 8 pork XLBs, 6 pan fried pork buns, 4 salted egg custard buns, and a cucumber salad appetizer. These are the juiciest, most flavorful pork XLBs we've found so far in the area. And we've never had the skin break on us ever. The skin is not as thin as din tai fung, but it holds a lot more soup. The pan fried buns also have a lot of soup in them, in addition to the meat being juicy. The bottom is crispy enough for the texture difference, but not crunchy/hard. The egg custard buns are actually runny and gooey inside, which apparently is really hard to execute (because most other places can't get it like this). This place is authentic, but still very clean and friendly. The staff is attentive and orders come out fast. Highly recommend to all our friends and family!

Absolutely delicious! Best I've had so far in Fremont!

Always delicious. Their XLB is some of the tastiest in the area. Thin skin, savory and juicy. Their pan fried buns are also wonderful. Very few restaurants offer both and they do both extremely well. Friendly staff. Service is always quick. I always bring friends and family here when in town. Tip: if you're going for dinner, you can park in the Wells Fargo parking lot after 6pm.

I'm a big fan of M Dumpling! This has quickly become one of my family's go-to spots in Fremont to eat. Super tasty XLB and one of the best pan-fried pork buns I've had in memory. FOOD RECS // I've enjoyed everything that I've tried here so far: + Pork Soup Dumpling: the skin is thin but holds up/doesn't break when picked up. Juicy meat and soup inside. Better value than DTF for sure. + Pan Fried Pork Bun: *so* good! Crunchy pan-fried bottom, the bun part isn't overly thick, and the meat inside is flavorful. + Sesame Red Oil Pork Wonton: the pork wontons were tasty. Not too spicy; the sesame sauce balances out the red oil. + Wonton Soup: we got the chicken wontons for the soup; it was a great lighter option. + Cucumber Salad: refreshing slices of cucumber + Dried Tofu & Indian Aster Salad: great cold-dish appetizer. I haven't had this dish at many other places - the Indian Aster has to be imported into the US. + Garlic Stir Fry Green Bean: plenty of fragrant fried garlic on top, and plenty of green beans to share with the table. + Pan Fried Egg & Chive: pretty good + Salted Egg Custard Buns: delicious ending to the meal. I could easily eat two or three of these.

My experience at this restaurant was honestly very mid -- yet also pleasant and what not. Here's how the experience went for me and my family, considering it was the first time that we went: Food: We ordered quite a bit of things, including their shrimp fried rice, their pork buns, XLB, and vegetables. I think this one is quite a highlight because there were quite a bit of soup within the dumplings, which is what you definitely want. The pork buns were juicy, not too thick on the skin, and definitely not too salty. The shrimp fried rice was just right, and the wok made the shrimp taste very crispy and tender as well. The vegetables were also the same as well. Hospitality: At Chinese restaurants like this, there usually is not really good service. However, throughout my time there, I felt rushed and I felt like I was always looked at. Not even a thank you or a hello, not even a check-in. Not even 30 minutes in to our dinner and they were asking if we wanted our check. People, that is not how you run a restaurant -- let alone ask patrons on the spot if they already wanted to pack their food up. Learn some manners people. The restaurant itself is quite small, and the placement of the restroom honestly kinda disgusted me -- I was literally sitting right next to the restroom door, and I wish we didn't have to. Honestly, it's making me think twice IF I wanna even go to this establishment ever again.

We got there around 11:40am on a Sunday and the restaurant was almost filled up. We were able to get a table right away. To order, you have the option of QR or by menu. One of dishes I specifically came here for was the stir fried string beans with intestine.. but I didn't see it on the menu anymore. They only had regular stir fried garlic beans. Sadddd but I decided to try a few different items we never had before. So we ordered.. ORIGINAL PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS (8) $12.99 -meat is juicy and tasty. Good amount of soup and the skin was thin yet a bit chewy. 4/5* PAN FRIED PORK BUN (6) $13.99 -soft pillow top with light and crispy bottoms. The bun wasn't thick and greasy like other places. It was super juicy and the meat was flavorful too. 5/5* SCALLION PANCAKE $7.99 -came out super hot and super crispy. Not too oily. 4/5* BEEF FRIED RICE $15.99 -came with peas and carrots too. Very tasty and well seasoned. There was a stickiness to the rice and the beef was tenderrr. I enjoyed the wok hei. 4.5/5* EGGPLANT ICEBERG $16.99 -deep fried eggplant. The batter was super crispy. It was coated in a sweet and savory glaze. The eggplant was super soft inside. It reminded me of fried bananas tbh. New dish for us so it was interesting. 4/5* They also sell a variety of handmade frozen dumplings too. They have dumplings to boil or steam, wontons, baos and pan fried ones. By the time we left around 12:20pm..there were hella people waiting outside for a table. Loved that the food came out quickly and super hot. Friendly and attentive customer service too. Would definitely come back again!

I went here while on vacation because it was close to my hotel. It's a small clean little place with lots of parking. We ordered through a QR code and the food came out fast. We had the beef noodle soup with clear broth, veggie fried rice, xlb, and sheng Jiang bao. Everything was good but my favorite was the xlb. The wrapping was really thin and they were super juicy. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. The server was also nice.

M Dumpling is one of my husband's and my absolute favorites. Whenever we're craving something reliably delicious, this is our go-to spot. Our must-orders are the sheng jian bao and xiao long bao. Honestly, we think they're even better than Din Tai Fung - they're bigger, juicier, and way soupier. We usually add the chow mein and green beans to round out the meal, and everything hits every time. We also tried the green onion pancake and cucumber salad and those dishes were delish! The staff is always friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. We came here on New Year's Day for our first meal of 2026 and were seated immediately. The friends we brought with us loved the food just as much as we did. We'll definitely keep coming back!

Spicy wonton 4/5 - one of the best at local restaurants. Good flavor and juicy. Not spicy but good flavor and bit of a kick. Green beans 5/5 - very good and not too oily or soggy Salted egg bun 4/5 - wish there was more filling

Clean, delicious, and friendly. Cleanest Chinese restaurant I've been in thats not Americanized. The restroom was amazingly clean and decorated well. Classic pork dumplings were delicious - a lot of soup and cute large bottomed soup spoons to eat with. Lots of soup, delicious thin skin and juicy pork. 7/5 Fried pork buns - amazing! Soft white dough fried with perfect round pork with rivers of juice still somehow pouring out miraculously without being absorbed by the bread. An amazing combo. 7/5 Beef potstickers - mix of corn and beef, is a nice combo. My husband really enjoyed the slightly sweet, savory combo. 5/5 Shrimp pork chive dumplings were steamed, chives were slightly overpowering. 4/5 Cucumber salad- surprised more like sunomono large tsukemono cucumbers cut into large pieces than fresh cucumbers seasoned. Unfortunately I did not expect this and enjoyed it less. 4/5

I've dined in and enjoyed my meals here multiple times. Flavor of many of their dishes are absolutely delicious and interior is clean. Food is 5/5 stars. Unfortunately, this is the first time I've experienced such poor service from M Dumpling. I dined in for dinner today and this server is a staff I haven't seen before. Prior servers and the owner of M Dumpling were always great. Some provided excellent service and some average which is totally fine. Since the beginning when we stepped into the restaurant today, no greeting was given and literally no verbal communication was given by this middle/older aged female server. All we got was either a cold stone expression or flat affect. When she drops off the food and you say thank you to her, she just walks off. We helped her move some dishes to the side to make room for the oncoming dishes she had in hand. However, she just shoved those to the side. Extremely poor and unacceptable behavior. There were several customers who later came in but still, it wasn't extremely busy as she had a bit of downtime in between. You can tell the customers who left before us were unhappy with her because they didn't respond to her when she said thank you when they left. Another customer also seemed unhappy with her as he called her out across the restaurant since for a long time, she stood at the counter looking everywhere but at the customers and he told her one of their orders still hasn't been served yet. Upon payment, she still didn't didn't say a word to me nor a thank you when I paid and tipped. Seriously did nothing to offend her but she was treating customers like trash. Everyone has bad days but at the end of the of the day you're here to work and you're also getting tipped. This is unacceptable and I'm sad I have to give this review. Hopefully the owner will retrain this specific server on basic manners. Service today was 0/5 stars.

Very good dumplings and great service make this a great spot for a nice weekend lunch. It's a small restaurant with not much seating so wait is expected. The pickled cucumbers were good. The veggie spring rolls tasted like Costco's veggie rolls from their freezer section. Chicken and corn dumplings were savory and and the wrapping was nice. The soup dumplings had a good flavor but not the best I've ever had. The hot and sour soup was good but lacked salt. It was comforting though. The dumplings with roe were also good. There was nothing bad on our table. We ate almost everything. The apicy sauce wontons too were good. Not the best sauce I've ever had but a decent plate of food. Everything we ordered was comforting and we will visit again for the same comfort and warmth on a cold day.

I'm a Din Ding diehard (and it's only a block away from me), so I don't have much reason to venture afar for soup dumplings, except that I love XLB and am always hunting the best version. M Dumpling's version is just as good, especially with the delicately thin skin and ample soup, but I just prefer the seasoning (and the convenience of the location) at Din Ding. The pan fried buns here are tasty, and I enjoyed the sauce in the three-cup chicken (even though I thought the proportion of bone was a bit high). Service was gracious and the space is clean and welcoming. Definitely worth trying, and the best option on that side of Fremont.

Rainy weather calls for soup dumplings! Influenced by a foodie vlogger, we wanted to try M Dumpling for ourselves! The restaurant is small, cozy and quirt but can get filled up fast! Our server was attentive and nice. We ordered 1 of each offered flavor- The classic, Pork, Spicy Chicken and Crab Roe. The dumpling dough is crafted perfectly! Soft, chewy, bouncy yet strong! I didn't have to worry about puncturing the the dumplings with my chopsticks because the dough is indestructable! My favorite in order: Spicy Chicken, Pork then Crab Roe The spicy chicken was reminiscent of popcorn chicken in soup form! So much flavor! Didnt need to add much vinegar or chili. You can't go wrong with the pork- the broth was rich yet light! The crab roe filling was a bit mushy for our liking. Needed the cucumber salad as a refreshing palette cleanser! Definitely coming back!

We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of them were fantastic. As my friend mentioned, a little bit saucier than you'd typically find in China, but still good. And we ordered everything extra spicy. The "Premium stir-fried beef with yellow peppers (with broth, Angus beef with brisket fat)" was a great saucy start to the meal, it had a nice sour flavor to go with the mild-medium heat and was very fresh tasting. "Husband and Wife Lung Slices" was good, standard and a smidge oily, but tasty. The tendons (there are no lungs, just beef and beef tendons) were cooked nicely, with just a hint of chew but tender. Again mild-medium "Stone Pot Flavored Frog" is where things started to get really good. This was one of the best dishes of the night, and the best frog I've ever had. So tender, with a nice crispy exterior, and so much flavor. This was delicious. If you've never tried frog, this is the one to get. A nice break from the heat was "Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Greens". I was told that this was a bit leaner than what you'd expect in China, but for me the meltingly soft, rich pork belly and chewy greens made into little mantou-tacos was great. It has a nice sweet/sour flavor and zero heat. Now, by far the spiciest dish we ordered was "Double Pepper Chicken Noodles". Delicious noodles, fresh chilies, great almost crispy texture from the wok, but this was firmly in medium-hot category. Everyone started to sweat and get runny noses eating this one. But the flavor was addictive. Some notes - the parking lot is big, but you may have to walk a bit. This is because this restaurant on a Saturday night was absolutely packed. I came around 6:30 and there were 9 tables on the waitlist ahead of me. I wouldn't say it moved quickly, and the area to wait in is cramped. So best bet is to come early or go wait somewhere else. They have an online waitlist that sends a text when your table is ready, so there's no need to stick around being jostled by people entering and exiting. Service was efficient. My friend ordered (in Mandarin) so I didn't follow what was happening, but the food arrived very hot and very quickly, and they nicely pack up your leftovers themselves. Overall - fantastic. I found some new favorites, had some good versions of things I already like, and while it certainly isn't cheap it was worth it. Oddly enough they added an 18% tip automatically. Fair enough, I would normally tip 20% for dinner but if 18% works I'm not complaining. Unfortunately the location isn't convenient for me and the food would be a bit challenging for most of my friends, so I probably won't be back soon. But anyone who wants some authentic and spicy and interesting Chinese dishes would be happy coming here.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

We ordered some of our usual dim sum favorites, including shiu mai, har gow, chicken feet, steamed pork ribs in black bean sauce, and the shrimp spring rolls. Everything tasted really good, and the portions were generous! Even though they don't have a huge selection, they do have most of the classic dim sum dishes I like, so I had no complaints. The flavors were spot on, even without soy sauce, and I didn't feel thirsty after the meal at all, which is already a good sign. I was a bit disappointed with the har gow wrapper because it was a bit too floury. The shrimp spring rolls were fried so much that the shape completely changed, and I couldn't recognize them at first. Overall, we paid around $38ish for two people, which was a really good value for the portion sizes. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I noticed that a lot of people were ordering takeout as well. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the theory failed me this time. The service was great, which should have been a red flag for me. The guy at the window was really friendly and helpful--he had us laughing the whole time. The food came out within minutes, even though we ordered 3-4 à la carte things. That should have been the second red flag. We really wanted to like the food because of the service, but the food was greasy and super salty. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, house chow fun, and walnut prawns with egg rolls. Sweet and sour chicken was average--not good or bad. Chicken chow mein was in a pool of soy sauce, way too salty. House chow fun was supposed to have shrimp--it literally had two. This too was drenched in soy sauce. Lastly, the walnut prawns were not bad, but again, we can get those anywhere else--no need to come back here for them. Overall, probably will not be back for their food. It is really sad because we really enjoyed the service.

The cuisine is more western China focused with the Chinese hamburger (肉夹馍) and big plate chicken (大盘鸡). Parking is ample in the plaza, and service is very fast. You can see the kitchen and its workflows from the outside, sort of like what you see at Marugame. Spoiler alert, the noodles really are handpulled and the kitchen is very clean! I ordered a Lanzhou Beef noodle soup and Chili Oil noodle. The broth in the Lanzhou noodle was very savory and perfectly seasoned. They also respected my comment for mild spicy, and it was one of the only times I drank almost all the soup since I did not taste artificial powders or too much white pepper. The Chili Oil noodle was also ordered with mild spice, and the noodles were so chewy and perfect, I can't wait to come back here already! We just wished the chili oil noodle had more meats, since there were like only a 2 or 3 slices of beef. Otherwise, portion sizes were also big for the price point, and the quality was beyond my expectations. Since it was our first time here, we were a little cautious and just ordered what we needed. But next time I'll definitely try the big plate chicken and pig ears!

We ordered 2 dry noodles and a cold spicy pig ears appetizer. The pig ears were piled up with no fillers - something hard to find these days. You can select the type of noodles so I picked the widest while my husband picked the middle one. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt. Overall the food was good, service was decent as we were offered actual menu instead of only using QR code to order. The place was not small with plenty of table. A bit noise as with all Chinese restaurants.
