I explained this to Well Dr. He came out, took a look at my pressure tank, and after fiddling with the pressure switch he told me my well pump needed to be dug up and replaced. He gave me a quote of $3500. Well... I went onto YouTube and searched the symptoms. Watched a 5 minute video that explained the cause was a faulty pressure switch. I called another well pro and told them I needed to replace a pressure switch. They gave me a quote of $167. They came out the next day, replaced the switch and added a little air to the tank and the problem was completely solved!! I'm pretty sure Well Dr knew this. Why wouldn't you suggest the less costly fix if these are such common problems. Your supposed to be an expert. Only one reason. He wanted money and thought he could get away with it! Think again and now everyone knows too.

The person said "we just need to spray some foam in the conduit, go to work and we'll be back in two days to spray." I come back from work and my basement had wading water from corner to corner. It cost me almost $3400 to clean out and dry my basement and hire a well establishment to fix the problem which was at the well head and not in the house or foundation. I have told all my acquaintances and friends, as well as the well company I did employ, that should they require well services, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES engage Stothoff. Their lackadaisical attitude and false assurances of taking care of the problem will cost you not only in terms of dollars, but peace of mind as well. Their "fix" of spraying expanding foam has been met with shock and disbelief by all whom I have told. They didn't even open up the well cover to investigate if a problem was there (which it actually turned out to be). I offered them the opportunity to rectify my expense and was met with "I had back surgery" by Dave who said he was the owner (I'm sorry for that health concern but it has nothing to do with rectifying his customer's problem) and then "you're just a disgruntled homeowner who is trying to get us to pay for your repair." He also said they had been in business since the 1880's and my writing this review wouldn't make any difference. Probably it won't but I am compelled to tell this horror story. He claimed that there had been water problems in the basement for a long time and that is simply not true. I am not a vindictive person or looking to grift a legit company, but their work ethic and the experience I had with them is beyond the pale. I can't even conscientiously give them a single star. They don't deserve it.

The basement remote well pump was running continuously and I turned it off to let it cool...big…read moremistake. I heard all the water in the pipes gurgle and gone. I tried to run the pump, to no avail, no water. I called our regular plumber, who took a few calls to get a reply around 8 p.m. After hearing the situation, they suggested D& L Pump. I called D&L and received an immediate call back from Ed who diagnosed it most likely a hole in the well pipe and agreed to come first thing in the morning. Ed arrived at 8 a.m. and located the well with a metal detector. He then dug down to confirm the location and said he would return by 1 with equipment to dig out and replace the damaged well pipe with a new submersible pump. He returned with his son, Austin, and Will who capably and professionally removed and replaced the well pipe and pump, in the rain, by 5:30. They are consummate professionals. I recommend them without hesitation.
