The basement remote well pump was running continuously and I turned it off to let it cool...big mistake. I heard all the water in the pipes gurgle and gone. I tried to run the pump, to no avail, no water. I called our regular plumber, who took a few calls to get a reply around 8 p.m. After hearing the situation, they suggested D& L Pump. I called D&L and received an immediate call back from Ed who diagnosed it most likely a hole in the well pipe and agreed to come first thing in the morning. Ed arrived at 8 a.m. and located the well with a metal detector. He then dug down to confirm the location and said he would return by 1 with equipment to dig out and replace the damaged well pipe with a new submersible pump. He returned with his son, Austin, and Will who capably and professionally removed and replaced the well pipe and pump, in the rain, by 5:30. They are consummate professionals. Extremely responsive and they do great work. I called last night because of a leak from my well tank pressure relief valve. The answering service took the call and said Ed would call back quickly that night, and he certainly did. He arranged for the repair work to be done this morning. His team showed up as promised, took care of the problem quickly, and their fee was less than I was expecting to pay for such a quick accommodation. FYI, D&L did the original installation of the well pump and retention tank when my house was built back in 1996, and we hadn't had any issues until last night. I highly recommend them; quality work. Used D&L for a total of 3 times. My rating is based on the cumulative experience and I'll break out each time. First time was an emergency call, based on that experience alone it would have been 5 stars. They came out and replaced my well pump, continued working as it started snowing and into the night until it was done. Quite a phenomenal job. Based on that experience, I called them out again to replace my well pressure tank. Which was the second time. I received a quote, the actual work was twice the quoted amount. So when the invoice came, it was quite the surprise. To make matters worse, they did the work but left a mess behind. Instead of tidying up, excess material, empty boxes, etc were left all over for me to clean up. The actual work was solid and I haven't had any callbacks or issues. Based on this, I'd rate this time a solid 3. Mostly due to the invoice surprise, it would have been a 4 otherwise. This last time unfortunately may be the last time I'll use D&L. I decided to give them a try to do my annual service on my water softening system. After scheduling the appointment, they came out, and...did not service my system. Instead, I was charged $150 to replace a $20 filter that was as complicated as lefty loosely, righty righty. They again did not clean up and left the old filter for me to dispose of. At least throw it into my garbage?After calling, Cindy (who is really nice) confirmed my system should have been serviced and assured me I'd get a call back. I did not get a call back. I finally decided I'd pay the invoice and just part ways. They seem like great people, and do solid work, but I need a bit more reliability from them in terms of what am I getting and what am I paying for. This last time was a 0 if I could rate it that as they simply didn't do the work. Update: 9 months later, I started having pressure issues. Turns out the pump installed is undersized based on my household usage. read more

We woke up Monday with no water. After making a few calls we were referred to D and L Pump by our former well company. The receptionist and D and L Pump put me on their already jammed schedule as an emergency and assured me someone would stop by before the end of the day. As promised, I had a tech at my house by 4pm. He assessed the problem and started making calls to suppliers from my driveway to secure all the parts we need before the shops closed down. He made calls to multiple suppliers trying to source a new motor, pump and galvanized pipe. The techs Ed Jr. And John were so nice, answered all our questions and worked non stop until our water was restored. Each item used was fairly priced (none of it is cheap). Knowledgeable technicians and great customer service all around. I would highly recommend D and L Pump. read more

I was searching for D&L's number since i need to inspect my well, when i came across their listing in Yelp. I felt compelled to share the following: my family and I live in Readington township and 5 years ago we woke up on Thanksgiving day morning with NO water. We were hosting 28 people, we thought that no one would come on TG. in a panic we called D&L and they came right-over, pulled the well-head and were able to repair a severed wire. They replaced with a larger heavy duty unit and charged only for the cost dif between the 2 parts. IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I have had nothing but great experiences with D & L. We have never needed them for an emergency call (thankfully!!), but they have have been to my house a few times to recharge our water softener system. They always answer the phone, the wait time to get a service call is always short, and they show up on time as promised.
