I recently started working near this donut shop however along time ago I ordered personalized donuts for my husband's birthday and I just realized that I ordered from here! They are black owned and operated which is a plus but the donuts are the best I've ever had! When I get them in the mornings before work they're warm and fresh and highly addictive. The lady and man who run the place are always super nice and the service is quick. They have a drive thru so no need to order at the walk up window. Some great folks !!! I remember coming here as kid with my Paw Paw. Or the times he would bring a box of donuts home on an early Saturday or Sunday morning when everyone was still asleep in bed. It's something about seeing that pink box early in the am lol. Am I the only one ??? Haha Food is always fresh and good to this day. Close to the corner of Central and Compton Blvd. Not a lot of parking but they do have a drive thru. Occasionally, I pull up in the am just to grab a donut and coffee. Always a great vibe grabbing some donuts or coffee. My fav donut shop hands down. read more

Found this spot on yelp after searching for custom donuts. After reviewing everyone's reviews I called. I was given Tamika's number and I reached out. The order process was simple and she was friendly. Price was very reasonable. I went to pick up day of and they were ready on time. I definitely would order again. The order came out so cute. I really wanted to continue supporting this business because they were a staple in Compton for decades. The original owner was an amazing man. He was organized, professional, humble, kind, and had the most amazing customer service one could dream of. However, I can't say the same for his daughter who runs the business now. She is HORRIBLE!!! She is forgetful, unorganized and not professional at all. I ordered custom donuts for my son's birthday party. I ordered well within the required timeframe and per the instructions on how to order. I communicated with the daughter via text messages several times before the pick up date, which was my son's actual birthday. On the actual pick up date, I drive all the way to Compton from Walnut and no one was in the store. I called and texted and messaged through Yelp for about 10 minutes. Finally she answers the phone in a sleepy tone. Mind you it's 1pm in the afternoon. My son's birthday party started at 3:30pm. I asked her where she was and that I need to pick up the order. There's a moment of silence, she seems confused and asks was this for today? Duh!? Is she serious!? Yes, per our conversation, I stated multiple times that it was for today! She then says, "Oh, sorry let me get up and make them, I'll drop them off to you." What!? How?? The party starts at 3:30. How are you going to make custom donuts in basketball theme and have them cool down long enough to put the icing on without it melting all over the place? I had to rush over to the grocery store and get a generic dry tasteless cake from the bakery section. She ruined my son's birthday. She needs to shut her business down if she can't operate it like her father did. read more

Went there at 7am today, they didn't have much to choose from, just glazed and chocolate covered donuts. My daughter was so disappointed because she wanted a sprinkled something. Nope, nothing... I asked and they said not right now. Come on it's 7am, you should have a wide variety it's not like I was there in the evening. First and last time I visit this donut shop. read more

I've driven by this little hole in the wall many times and never noticed it next to KFC. Stopped by on a rainy Saturday around 11am to grab snacks for my colleague and me. I was shocked to see that there wasn't many donuts available. They all seemed dark in color and didn't look very appealing in the case. However, looks are deceiving. I grew up right around the corner from M&T so this place holds fond memories for me. I was feeling nostalgic so I made the drive from OC to CPT and I was not disappointed. It was everything I remembered. The donuts are delicious and I got a few different ones to sample. Of course, my favorite was the glazed twist. It's so simple and so delicious. There isn't really a lot of room to sit down or anything so we got our donuts to go. Can't wait for my next donut day so I can come back to M&T. read more

My last review was stellar. This one not so much. So make a special trip to buy somebody of these magnificent donuts, in particular, the honey wheat. It was a Friday AM - 9:15 am to be exact. I get to the window and i am told all that is the window is whTS AVAILABLE, There were 6 long Johns and 2 buttermilk. SERIOUSLY? No apologies or we are making more or. Nothing! If it were noon, I'd would just think come earlier - they do close at 2pm But seriously, it was 9:15 Thats no way to run a business. I'm not going back. I can't count on them to have anything to sell. read more

This place is a historical Compton Landmark. Great service, fresh delicious donuts. Customers can pre-order custom made speciality donuts. They've been in business for over 60 years. If this establishment was located in Hollywood, than the line would be around the block. read more

I came here to grab some donuts for an event we were having at the Compton airport. On my way to the event I had to try one of the donuts to make sure they were ok. Well I ended up having two of them. These donuts were so good that I had to call M & T Donuts and tell them how amazing their donuts are. I started to keep the donuts for myself, but I knew that wouldn't be right. Some places the donuts taste like air and other places the donuts are too heavy. These donuts are perfectly balanced. This place might not stand out from the street, but man! They make some delicious donuts! I tried the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, which is my go-to. The frosting/donut ratio was perfect, and it was light and soft, with just the right crispness on the outside. Hubby had the blueberry cake and said it was one of the best he's had. I had to go again a few days later, and they were out of the chocolate so I tried an apple fritter, which was also fantastic. I just wish this place was closer to home so I could go more often! read more

My BFF knows I have my coffee and Donuts every morning lol. I was quite surprised when she gifted me with a personalized box of donuts for my Birthday. Soon as you opens the box you can smell the goodness. She told me she made the order last minute and they were very accommodating with her request, but certain things had to be ordered 72 hours in advanced. All I have to say is this place reminds me of Holy Moly doughnuts on the movie Friday. Sometime service is with a smile Sometime they just take their sweet time as if you have nothing to do. Then last but not least half the items on the drink menu never have all the key ingredients or they just don't have it. Well take the fuc*&%@#n advertisement off if you don't have it. If you wanna try a good doughnut you better get your butt up there around 7am to 9am. I live not too far from this spot and believe me it's nothing special. And as a matter of fact I never see the police there. Have you? Now this message should tell you something. I've seen the riots here, 3 men have gotten robbed at this establishment and a car had drove up the sidewalk during a chase and hit a neighborhood smoker.. due to the incident you can't sit outside anymore. They do have great doughnut holes buy the way. read more

I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Loved that we found a local gem like Patria and will def be back!

I have gone with a few people many times and our favorites are: the Spanish latte, Mexican Chai, Chai Latte, and Mocha Latte. The Spanish latte is especially good, and the Chai latte is the best I have had in my life it's so well made. The Mexican Chai I can only describe as a cinnamon heaven with the best Chai base flavor ever. The Mocha latte is heavy in the best way possible, it's super strong and I love it. The best part I think for all the drinks is the baristas do not hold back on the coffee, and you always get your moneys worth. None of it is water down, and it's such a great pick me up. I can't really speak on the Matcha cause no one in my group has tried it since we aren't really big Matcha enjoyers. But I have been told that the strawberry Matcha is transcendent and absolutely fantastic. They have a bunch of Matcha flavor options as well, which would be amazing if I was a Matcha connoisseur, but unfortunately, I'm not . So I can't really speak well on that yet, but have only told fantastic things about it. The workers are all kind and work really fast so you get your drinks really quickly even though the line is pretty long. I will say the best time to go and get drinks is around in the morning when they open around 7:30 on the weekends. Again I have to restate wait is always 100% worth it for the amazing quality drinks you will get. I also forgot to mention the fact, you can customize your drinks to have different types of milk and they also have a bunch of other vegan food options as well. I think this is amazing even though my group doesn't really get those options, because I've been told even when people change out the milk, it taste the exact same, which I think is absolutely incredible. The WiFi was so slow that I had to use my personal hotspot, and the seating consists of benches and mini tables that aren't comfortable for long periods. There are a few outlets, but you have to cross the street to a food court to use the bathroom. They have a shared parking lot out front. I'll definitely be back for the Island Matcha, but not to get work done!
