I had come to Gimre's with a very specific issue relating to a style of New Balance shoe I wished to purchase. Nikki was gracious and friendly and her knowledge of shoes is clearly extensive. When Nikki discovered the item I wanted to purchase had been discontinued, she knew where to look to see if there were other options to consider. After looked at some other possibilities, she helped me find another style, within the New Balance brand, that actually ended up being the perfect shoe for my particular needs. Thank you Gimre's for being a resource in Astoria, Oregon, and a big thank you Nikki for all of her efforts and taking the time necessary to help me find an even better pair of shoes than the ones I thought I would buy that day.

It's easy to find something for yourself or a gift for a friend, including items for children. The women who work there are all so nice, often greeting me by name. They have a mix of clothing, jewelry and some of the most stylish rain boots I've seen in my life. The majority of their wares come from European designers, so I was introduced to world of Ilsa Jacobsen (coats and boots) and Potluck Paris Jewelry (sparkly accessories made from recycled materials). They had a screaming good sale first thing in the morning, and were the hot spot for shoppers in town. The rest of the year, the prices are going to be a stretch for anyone on a budget. We saw some cute shirts from the window and decided to go in and check them out. This very, very old lady kept appearing literally a foot away from my daughter and I as we were trying to shop and would just stare and watch us. Never asked us if she could help us. I was so uncomfortable with her being on top of us, that I told my daughter to put back the $50 sweatshirt I was going to buy her. I mean, I was wearing a $200 North Face Jacket, my $175 Hooka shoes, and $400 coach purse. But this lady treated me as if I walked into her store with a trash bag on.
