When I confronted the employee working, she said that she knew I was getting charged the tax for the full item, but still did nothing, and did not give me my money back. From what I know- this is actually illegal, to overcharge a customer on sales tax. This is such a dishonest way to run a business- who knows how long they have been doing this to people.

Angela, the owner gets to know her clients and provides very personal assistance to us when we enter the store. Her prices are similar to Macy's or Nordstroms, but her clothing is high end and she pays well for her pieces. She does NOT purchase cheap, itchy clothing from China and then overprice them like "Free People and "Anthropology" - sorry I love Free People and Anthropology but they are high priced and the clothes fall apart or are very itchy sometimes. Proving you don't always get what you pay for, but at 4 seasons clothing you DO!! The person who complained, and referred to the owner as dishonest because she refused to honor a sale that had ended on the day of her visit, lacks understanding the term "dishonest." It is not dishonest to place items on sale to motivate higher sales on a particular day, particularly in the case of small businesses that need immediate sales in order to make payroll or rent obligations. And, large stores have sales for special holiday events Memorial Sales; 4th of July Sales, et cetera, and when the holiday ends the sale also ends. That is called doing business! The owners of most businesses in small towns, contrary to popular belief, are NOT rolling in money and wealthy. I have friends who own businesses here in Astoria, and it has been very difficult for them to keep their doors open because we have weather that keeps our small population of 10,000 in doors, and our tourist season is limited in months due to our weather. Many store owners in our town, will have a sale in order to move merchandise so they can make payroll or rent that doesn't mean they can actually afford the sale, typically with sales owners lose money but they are able to meet their short goals to keep their doors open (payroll, rent, utilities, etc.)
