We've used Dayton Sewer & Drain for line-cleaning needs at our 62 year-old house in Kettering OH…read moresince 2018. When "everything" was backing up & not draining today, I gave them a call a little before 9AM. Gene promised to be there between 11AM & 1PM. I asked that he call me when he was on his way. As promised, he called & showed up at the house right on time. He even brought his VERY well behaved 14 year-old Australian Shepherd copilot (who stayed in his vehicle the whole time). While I thought the problem was due to our daughter's long hair plugging up the drain line from the bathtub, Gene (correctly) diagnosed the problem as a blocked main line. It took Gene about an hour to use his 300# power auger to cut/extract roots from the main line to the sewer. See the attached picture for the ~4" x 8" wad of roots that was plugging the drain. Once Gene was finished, he checked & double-checked to make sure that everything was draining properly. He made recommendations as to how we should avoid this problem in the future (basically, having roots removed from the line every 2 years or so). Dayton Sewer & Drain's bill was reasonable for the service they provided. There was NO attempt to "up-sell" us on services not truly needed. Gene quickly determined the problem & fixed it. We'll keep using Dayton Sewer & Drain in the future.

When we call to get status or find out what is going on 1 of three things happen 1) We get hung up on and told we are being disrespectful/rude for questioning what is going on 2) we are told they will call us back and never do (we always have to call back days/weeks later) 3) They do not answer and do not respond to the messages. We have asked for them to just replace the unit, they won't. Now there are parts ordered, 1 part arrived to my mom's house. When I called to tell them, I was hung up on and told I was disrespectful for telling him I was baffled they did not have my mom's info. Allegedly, someone is coming out today to install the 1 part that has shown up, but no word on the 2nd part and when it will arrive so it still will not work. So here we are, 5 months and $1200 later, still no working water softener.
