I overheard a staff member make a comment saying that I couldn't afford their services -- completely unprofessional, discriminatory, and out of line. I've been coming here regularly, and this was easily one of the worst experiences I've had. I asked for a gel pedicure and came in with gel already on -- the tech did regular polish WITHOUT confirming. When I questioned it, she offered to restart, but by then too much time had passed and I had somewhere to be. I was understanding, told her it was fine as long as it was done right, and even tipped her. The polish chipped and came off BOTH feet THE SAME DAY -- not even 24 hours later. When I came back, I was told I'd have to pay $50 to redo it in gel and was told "that's how regular polish is" and "you should've gotten gel" -- WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR. After all of that, they offered me $10 back. I called to follow up and was told it was a "mistranslation" and compared my situation to someone eating a full meal at a restaurant and asking for a refund -- which is nothing like what happened. I was given the WRONG SERVICE, it failed SAME DAY, and was met with rudeness at every single step. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. Unsanitary, overpriced, and unappreciative of your time. I called earlier in the day to see if they had availability for a gel pedicure and they said to just walk in. Typically, at other salons that would mean they have a slow day and the wait times would be little to none. I ended up waiting 20 minutes in the front of the store and 45 minutes sitting in the pedicure chair. The ONLY covid guideline they follow is wearing masks. There is no mandatory hand washing, no questionnaire or temp check, and I saw someone leave their pedicure chair after their service was done and they just plopped someone else in there right afterwards, not even a wipe down of the seat. They have some dividers up but the pedicure station does not have a set up for dividers between the people sitting, only you and the technician. Also!! Don't think about bringing a coffee inside because there are NO cup holders or anything for you to even leave your purse on at the pedicure station. I had gel already on my nails and instead of doing what every other salon does and soaking it off, they just went at it with the nail filer. And then when they were working at my cuticles they did not use the normal oil I've always seen used before, just the scraper on my dry cuticles. For $50 you get a gel pedicure with a bad cuticle trim, no callus removal ( and I have them!), no hot stones, no sugar scrub, NOTHING EXTRA! They also haven't upgraded to using contactless payment during covid and you have to tip in cash. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

i went in for a short acrylic set. i don't remember what the woman's name was who did my nails but she proceeded to cut my cuticles 4 or 5 separate times to the point where it was bleeding all over my fingers. she then proceeded to blame me for moving my hand the first time and steadied it, to which she then cut my cuticles 3 more times. i was told to go wash my hands and started to get lightheaded as i watched my fingers gush blood under the running water. THEN, i go back to my seat and a man starts -- and i kid you not -- glueing my wounds closed with nail glue. at this point i was terrified for my own safety because now i'm at risk for infection. did NOT pay and will not be going back. read more

It's a deep dark secret. Yes, I like pedicures. OK, maybe like is a strong term. For me it's more of a need. My feet get gnarly after a while. For general foot health purposes, they need a serious scrubbing and exfoliating every now and then just to be presentable at least once or twice a year. My wife took me here a while back and I was impressed with their service. I came back on my own today and was equally impressed. They're very professional, effective, and friendly. Reasonably priced to boot. Look guys, every now and then, you just need a professional to take care of those feet. And they get a good rubdown to boot. This is a good thing. You should embrace this. If anything, a decent foot massage should be worth the price. Oh by the way, that price is $25, and the massage includes hot stones. No half baked rubdown here. They do serious work. OK, I like it. Went in for the first time for a pedicure and gel manicure. No wait time. The girl that serviced me was probably the worst I've ever experienced. Not personable at all. Walked around like she just woke up. Kept going back and forth like she didnt know what she needed to do the work. The next day the nail polish used on my feet was cracking with lines under the clear top coat. Very weird! And 4 of my toes the polish broke off in the middle of the toes. Not a chip in the corner or at the tip....on the actual nail bed!! Then the gel manicure was streaky and looked a mess, and when i pointed it out the girl who sat at a desk all the way at the front of the shop facing the door tells me, "Oh there must be oil in the polish" and continues to use it. She kept looking over at another patron who came in with her children that knew alot of the workers and was minding their business instead of tending to her own. She left gel polish all over the tips of my fingers and along the sides of my nail bed and when i kept asking her to clean it up she told me, "It will come off when you take a shower". Who tells their customer that? I was leaving there to go have lunch. So another worker comes over to see whats going on and ends up fixing a couple of the gel nails begrudgingly and then I was asked to pay...$67!!! Literally the next day my toes were horrible. Is the polish old? why does it look like the lines of a blood shot eye on like 4 of my toes and chips have seemingly fell out of the center of my toes? HORRIBLE waste of my time and money. I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews on here. I'm very particular about spending money to get my nails done. Actually, I never really got my nails done because most area places that won't charge you am arm and a leg cut corners with hygiene, and I don't mess around with that. M&A is really one of the only places I've found worth my time. First and most important, the place is extremely clean. My mom, who is usually loyal to another local place, even noticed how spotless M&A is. The staff is so friendly, too! Katie was a blast to talk to. She gave me a great pedicure (complete with hot stone massage, which is standard!) and a gel manicure that has held up beautifully despite my constant cleaning with harsh chemicals at home and at work. It's been a week today since I got the gel done and there are no signs of chipping at all. Last summer my friend did a little bachelorette nail party there, so this place would be great for a spa day with friends. I'd say the prices are reasonable as well. I hate to be giving this kind of review for them because the workers here are great people. However, my trip there a few nights ago is causing me to finally give this review. Because of my work schedule, I couldn't to m&a until 6:45. They close at 7:30, so automatically I feel awful and know that their job is going to be rushed. First, the actual nail filing process, putting the acrylics on, etc., was rushed. Then, she painted my nails. I say 'she' because I can't recall what her name was. My nail tech cut into my cuticles with the drill and also drilled too deep into my natural nail causing a crack that she had to repair. No apologies or concern was given to me while I was in discomfort due to my nail tech not using proper technique. Then I was charged an extra 5 dollars for my nails that were already in almond shape upon arrival to the salon. I did not get a shape change. Then when I brought up that my nails were originally in almond shape I was then told that the extra five dollars is because my natural nails were "long" when my nails aren't long at all. Other than that scam mentioned about every single technician in there are rude and the nails are hella sloppy. You can't tell them or ask them anything bc all they do is get upset and forcefully keep telling you your nails look nice even when you disagree.
