I came in for an emergency appointment as my regular salon was booked. They gave me an appointment on one days notice, as I had to attend a funeral the next day. Service was excellent; I received a wash shampoo and dry from one nice attendant who also brought me fresh sealed cold water; and after that I was entrusted to a skilled barber/stylist who did a scissors/layer cut. He also trimmed my eyebrows, a small but noteworthy detail. My haircut here was terrific. I looked great the next day. 100% great! read more

I love getting my hair done here. I found this place because they are recommend by Ouidad. I have curly hair and not everyone can style it. Everyone here is super friendly. Asking me if I need anything (to drink). My stylist Aileen (sp?) is amazing. She is very flexible and is honest with me if she thinks a color is too light or dark. I like changing my hair color once or twice a year. Once I was not happy with my hair color and she fixed it with no attitude. Her pleasant demeanor made me a regular customer. She is flexible with her schedule since I need to wait for hubby to get home in order for me to hit the salon. A few nights we were definitely there way after 9 and she never once complained or looked at her watch. I really appreciate it since I know she had a long day. I went to go get my hair done for an ombre. At first there was a miscommunication and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it too when I first went. But then I went back again and they redid it free of charge and they were very nice about it. My hair looks way better now and I absolutely love it. I would go there again. read more

Ultimately unhappy with this place. The stylists were super friendly, but I got sick of being asked to buy products every single time I got my hair done. When I finally gave in - to a conditioning treatment - the treatment dulled my hair, left no notable changes in shine/texture - and was over-priced. I decided to try a different stylist after being so annoyed with this. I ended up sitting in the chair for 3.5 hours for a foil. The worst part was the styling assistant trying to brush my wet, fine hair with a fine-toothed comb, starting at the top! I felt like my hair was being ripped out of my skull, even after I politely stated that it was too painful. A month later, I went to my old stylist in my hometown in NEPA (highly trained, formerly from Philly). She said they had over processed my hair, and it was pretty damaged. I won't be back. read more

Go to Bali if you have thick hair!! She is wonderful - very knowledgeable and takes the time to educate you on the best way to hydrate, style, and manage thick hair. She's also got the warmest personality and I've come to get to know her and really enjoy my appointments with her. I've been going to her for several years now, even after moving away from the area, as I have been unable to find anyone that matches her expertise! I always feel great when I leave there. I have been going to Salon DeSante (Springfield) since i was 13 years old; 11 years later and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience! My mom, grandmom, aunt, and fiance all come to this salon! Every time I walk through their door, they greet you with a smile and a friendly hello. I have fallen in love with Bali, not only is she my hairstylist but I consider her family! She has watched me grow and helped me get through my awkward teen years! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. My daughter was having a complete meltdown about her hair color, so I cold called several salons to get an appointment ASAP. This salon gave her an appointment for that evening. She explained to the colorist, Bali, that she wanted a particular shade of blonde that her former colorist in a high-end salon had failed to accomplish. To be honest, her hair was quite a mess of highlights over brassy blond, and she was getting frustrated about not being able to explain exactly what she wanted, almost to the point of tears. Bali called over the owner to consult about the color. I apologized to both of them for the drama, and the owner kindly said that this was a normal part of his job. Now for the best part- I left the salon, and when I returned 2 hours later, my daughter was sitting there with the most beautiful shade of crystal blonde hair that I have even seen on her. Her 2 inches of roots now matched the rest of her hair, and the brassy gold was completely gone. I was charged less than half of what I expected to be charged for the hard work that it took to achieve these results. This is the best Salon by far I have ever been to. My business has me traveling quite often and I have had my hair cut in high end salons in NYC, CA and in the local Main Line and I have never met a more professional and accommodating staff. I must admit I just get a basic men's cut so I can't speak intelligently on women's cuts and colors but it's amazing and refreshing to see a staff literally bend backwards to make you feel like you are the only one in the salon. 5 Star rating all day long!!! read more

After moving over an hour away I decided to look into getting new salon that was closer to me. I found a coupon online saying new customers free haircut with color. I made the appointment and told them ahead of time I had the coupon. She wasn't sure if they still were taking them but were sure they would honor it. I came in telling them I wanted partial highlites and my free cut. As she started doing the color on my hair, she asked to see the coupon again. Told me they will not honor it. She first of all should not have started my color if she wasn't sure about the coupon. She said oh this is only mon-thurs but you cant use it (it was Saturday). I was pretty upset that she started my color first off because I would have left. I could tell it wasn't going to be the best experience. Washed the color out then asked if I wanted the haircut, it was $55. Since i was already there and didnt know how my color was yet because my hair was wet, it took me a while to decide and I just said do it. Haircut was fine...Dried my hair and it seemed fine. Next day I wanted to CRY. It was awful! I hated it! It was not at all what I asked for. Blotches of awful random colors and spots of my natural color and very brassy at the top and did not AT ALLLLLLL touch the root so my roots were over an inch long!!!! So, on Sunday I went to another salon to get another opinion and she told me in a nice way that it wasn't very good. She was going to correct it for me. Well, I called Tuesday to see what they would say about the girl who originally did my hair to see if she could fix it. They said it wouldnt be a problem at all and to come in Sat am. Well I did and Lauren the girl who originally did it looked at it and didnt see a problem. I showed her what I disliked and she said she will have to charge me an extra $50 for a root touch up. She said with a partial highlite they do not do roots. I was pretty upset with it all. Brought her manager over and manager said same stuff. They said they can only put a few highlites in. They were extremely rude with everything and I walked out VERY upset. So please do NOT go there and find somewhere worth your money. I spent $125 with tips and all. I really can't say enough about how pleased I am with my hair cut, color, and the entire experience I had yesterday. It was really impressive feeling so relaxed and comfortable in such a professional setting. Samantha, who made my appointment, was very welcoming when we arrived. Frank took care of me, along with Ryan (who is fabulous!), and I later found out that part of why Frank worked on me is because he had learned that I had a bad experience with the last salon I tried. Not everyone would do something like that, and Frank made it his business to create an amazing experience for me- and that it was! Everyone there seemed to know each other, i observed stylists walking clients to the door, chatting, sometimes hugging goodbye. I just really felt like I was in the right place and can't believe I haven't gone in before now. My color is gorgeous, blended warm and cool blonde tones, and I have the best soft layered haircut I think I've ever had. I brought my 6year old son with me, he was welcomed and able to sit near me the entire time. Everyone -stylists and other clients- chatted with him and he was right at home.
