The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.

There's some seating available for fine in option but the business is primarily to go. The owner and his wife - really friendly people - are from Nepal. We ordered some samosas, egg fried rice and spicy tofu with vegetables. The owner gave us some hot 'welcome' tea while we waited for our food. It was cold and the tea ( chai?) was very much appreciated. The food was well packaged and portion size was good. Food was delicious. Loved the tofu ! He also gave us some extra spicy sauce to try! Would definitely come back again to try other items on the menu.

Chicken fried rice - 3.5/5, I requested this to be lighter in oil, and that probably took away some of the flavor. I felt it was slightly bland and could've had more flavor. The amount of chicken was also slightly less, I wish there was more. I would ask them to make it spicy, if possible. I've also tried both the Chowmein and the Gobi Manchurian from here at a friend's place and I recommend them. I remember the Gobi Manchurian to be a good balance of spice and sweet and crispy. They also have afternoon lunch combos, where they do momos, fried rice/chowmein and a chicken/gobi/tofu chilli. I missed this last time because I didn't know about it until I went there to pickup :(. So next time!

If you're looking for something warm and soulful while boosting your immune system: Kadhi Kachori! A specialty at Chatpata India, Kadhi Kachori ($11.99) is North Indian Street Food of curry with a fried fritter: https://tinyurl.com/te656uwn The turmeric-rich, yogurt-based curry is served piping hot with a large lentil fritter sliced into triangular pieces. A fantastic balance of bold tangy flavors and crispy-soft textures with the raw diced onions giving a sweet sharpness. My only gripe is I requested it to be spicy but it was more mild-medium spicy. Maybe they thought we couldn't handle the heat so requesting desi spicy next time. Equally delicious is their Dahi Sev Puri w/ potatoes, tamarind + mint cilantro chutney, yogurt, sev (8 pc - $7.99): https://tinyurl.com/2rvnu4k3 The crunchy shell (semolina-based) is filled with spiced potatoes, topped with myriad of sauces, crunchy sev (fried chickpea noodles), and something tart...reminiscent of pomegranate seeds. Great contrasting textures and punchy flavors from the chutneys. Overall, Kadhi Kachori is not the easiest thing to find so Chatpata India is def worth a visit you're in the area! The bhature were crispy and were a little oily but thats expected. Cant wait to eat this again!

I drove to the temple in Palo Alto to visit my grandpa (his picture is there) and decided to get gas on my way back. Had no idea there was a food truck meet up here. I microwaved them but if I wasn't super lazy, steaming them for a few minutes would do the trick. The chicken momos were succulent. The chicken chili momos were earthy and had some heat to it.
