Service: Workers were friendly Ambiance: Multiple businesses seem to operate in this one building. Inside felt like a high-end restaurant; there was nice outdoor seating. There are kiosks to order. Chicken shawarma combo $14 (5/5): So far, the best shawarma I've had. I've had plenty of homemade Mediterranean food, and it tasted just on par. Chicken was tender, moist, well charred. Flavors were fantastic. Fries were thick-cut. The pepperroncini was a nice touch. The combo came with fries and a mini soda can. Can definitely split with 2 people, the wrap is huge. Definitely would come back again!

Kofte kebab: 5/5 minced beef patties with rice; crispy on the outside and tons of flavor flavor. Got this twice because it was so delicious. Adana sandwich: 3/5 minced lamb sandwich, maybe I rated this low because the other stuff is so good. But I think the plates are just better than the sandwiches. Lamb shish: 5/5 tender, flavorful, everything i would want for lamb. The bread is the worst part, but since everything else was so good still 5 stars.

Has a nice tang and a bit of kick, perfectly pairs with their super burritos. Wife got to gorditas, the thick corn masa is so good, not too heavy, perfectly crisp and served hot and fresh. The filling is also great, they don't skimp and we love that they always give you a nice side of pickled jalapenos and radish and lime. The super burrito is also very tasty, good amount of kick by default and amplified well when you pair it with the salsas. I like that they always have little chip ziploc baggies that you are welcome to help yourself to and they are always accommodating if you want extra salsa. I originally wanted tacos (which was unavailable) but noticed this food truck instead. For reference, I've never tried Nepalese/Indo-Chinese food, so I figured I would give it a shot. The guy running the food truck is soft-spoken but was able to provide suggestions. When I asked what was popular, he told me that people try the dumplings, so I ordered one (1), which come in a set of 8. Each one is about the size of two quarters in diameter (for scale). It comes with sauces on the spicy side. I figured that alone wasn't enough to alleviate my hunger pangs, so I ordered the Paneer Chow Mein and Mango Lassi, too. My order came out after 15 minutes. In the meantime, I waited under the tent that was stationed with a dining table next to the truck. Paneer Chow Mein - 6/10. Tastes like your average standard Chow Mein. I didn't know what paneer was, but after a quick Google search, it's cheese with the look, texture and taste of tofu. I ate enough to send me into a food coma. The guy packed plenty into the container (and I barely made a dent), so I rated it higher. Chicken Momo (Dumplings) - 7/10. What you'd expect of a chinese steamed dumpling but with a slight twist. I don't have a diverse culinary palate, but there was a hint of a curry(esque) flavor in the filling. Delicious with the sauces. Mango Lassi - 1000000/10. I am a sweet tooth and woah....I absolutely love this drink. It is an Indian mango yogurt drink that is not too thick or sickly sweet. It has a thick consistency and was perfect to have during the summer as a dessert. It was about $4 for 12oz but I had to order another one for the road because it is exactly what I needed. Overall, I would stop by again if I needed something to curb my empty stomach.

The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.
