Beautiful large open space, brings in great sunlight and spread out chairs, so if you go with more than 1 person you can't really sit together. When we arrived around 12:30 two ladies were finishing up so once we finished picking our colors we were able to sit down and begin right away. There were only three employees working on a Saturday, not sure if that's the norm or just the time of year not being as busy. They had the badger game on in the background and seemed a bit distracted by that. Once my color went on several coats I realized it wasn't the same as the number I picked, despite it being the number I chose. The colors do not match up for the gels unfortunately. I chose navy and ended up with a teal color. It was still beautiful but not when you are expecting navy. I hope they are just through opening pains, because I don't want to give up on them, but overall just unenthused about our experience. read more

I visited Ly Ly for the first time and wanted to try a dip. I normally do gel, but after several people recommended dip for the longevity and being "safer" for nails, I decided to give it a chance. I did the dip on my natural nail. I was disappointed with the rushed job that I was given despite there being only one other customer in the salon, leading to what appeared to be sloppy work (powder left around my nails, original color I had on not entirely removed). This wasn't big enough of a deal for me to return, but I wasn't entirely impressed. 10 days later, the nails had separated and began lifting. This was disappointing enough because of being told time and time again that dip lasts so much longer than gel. I then noticed discoloration of the polish (thankfully I had a light color!) by day 12. Upon removing the nail, I am horrified to find green/black discoloration on several nails. There is no way this is okay or normal and I've never experienced this before from any other salon after any other manicure. LyLy does dip directly into the powder container, which is also concerning me, as this definitely looks like a bacterial or fungal issue where there absolutely was not one previously. Needless to say, I will not be back to LyLy and I would not recommend this salon to anyone. ***Edit*** I have confirmed and reiterate with absolute certainty that this is the correct location. It has now been two weeks since I posted this review (one month since the date of service) and my nails are still discolored and damaged. read more

I came in to do a mani pedi with my mom, did not feel a welcoming vibe at all, they essentially bark at you as soon as you walk in asking what you need. there is another lady sitting next to my mom too which was disappointing because other chairs were open and we wanted to sit next to each other.I got in the chair and the water was cold. I asked the man that was about to do my pedicure for warmer water and he puts on freezing cold water. I asked if the massage chairs side tables could be wiped down because it looked like someone ate fries then used their greasy fingers. He just grabbed a dry towel and wiped it with no spray! When my pedicure was done it looked horrible. chunky polish and my nails were totally slanted, rounded and uneven when I asked for square shape. He then walks me over to the drying station and sits me down completely forgetting I wanted a manicure, then takes me back to sit where I am going to get my manicure. Mind you the man attempting to do both of the services I requested had super long nails himself and was stabbing in my fingers and moving my hands around aggressively. As the manicure is starting I was inspecting my pedicure second guessing if I should say something about how terrible it came out. Not to mention I was sitting for this pedi for almost 2 hours! He finally noticed something was wrong and I brought up how I felt about the job he did. Long story short a very sweet older woman with glasses had taken over and did a nice job. She also had to fix my pedicure completely removing the polish and refiling my nails for them to come out nicely. It's sad because many people come to get their nails done in hopes of getting a break from their day to day. These days I tend to avoid even going because it feels like torture and obligation rather than self care. I went in for a manicure and pedicure. They said walk in were welcome but couldn't accommodate my pedicure. Which was fine. Very kind people. Manicure (gel) was sloppily done, when I asked for things to be corrected, they were poorly done. It is 2 days after my appointment and they have already chipped and peeled up. The technicians are nice and overall they performed well; respectful and patient with my young granddaughter. However, the cost of a pedicure for a 7yo was the same as ours. My daughter had a male technician that she was really unhappy with. He cut her toenails too short causing her discomfort when he filed her nails. He did not attend to callouses on her feet, instead kept applying warm towels. There was no massage, which was part of the package we purchased. My technician was great. So if you go to LyLy, stay away from the male technician. Personally, we won't be back. read more

I went here the other day for a full set. I've been going here for a couple of years now so this wasn't my first rodeo but it was definitely my last. I walk in, no greeting from anyone. Not only that but also very rude looks from the staff. I sat at the counter for about ten minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me. When they finally got to me, only one lady was nice. She gave me a water and that was the end of that interaction. The next person to interact with me I'm assuming is the owner. She very rudely came up to me and asked what I wanted. I said I had an appointment for a full set and told her what color I wanted. She scoffed, and very hostility told me to go sit at her table. When she finally sat down, I asked her how she was and all she said, in a very snarky tone, was "busy and tired". Mind you I was the only one in the salon getting my fingers done, everyone else (3 other people) were getting pedicures. She took a total of TWENTY MINUTES to do a full set. I've never seen anything so rushed before in my life. The shape was awful despite me asking her to correct it multiple times, the polish was put on sloppily, and my cuticles were flooded. On top of this, the set for very short, one color, no design was $60. Ridiculous. Needly to say, I will be finding a new salon in the area who is more appreciative and deserving of my business. read more

One of the most painful manicures I've ever gotten. I went in to get a dip manicure - this was my first time here and the mixed reviews i read made me nervous and maybe it was my fault for not listening to my gut. As she was using the tool with the spinning bits on it to shape the manicure and whatnot she was basically grinding away the skin at my cuticle as well - i was in so much pain i couldn't believe my fingers weren't dripping blood. She used the cuticle cutter and also took junks out of the sides of my fingers. I have never received such a painful manicure in my life. She said sorry and then proceeded to take a piece of cotton that was soaked in what i believe was alcohol and shoved that and her fingernail into the bloody wounds. I left in so much pain and 5 bloody fingers. I sit here writing this with neosporin and a handful bandaids ready to go on :( So, the choice is yours... read more

I will never go back here for my nails. The lady I believe who runs the place is rude. When we asked if they could get us in a short period of time she gave us attitude. If accommodating a shellac/pedi in a shorter time frame is not doable than just say it. They went 30mins over the time we told them we needed to be out. She was also my nail tech and I added a picture that is a week old out growth and was already peeling off..and they charge $35 for shellac! Don't waste your time and money and go somewhere else. Treated for my birthday, Not my choice but the gesture was appreciated. Had a mani-pedi. The pedicure was very nice; he was very careful not to scrub roughly the soles of my feet, and paid close attention to not nick or injure when clipping the toenails. The water was just the right temperature, I almost able to take a cat nap, it felt so nice, lol! Now the manicure was an entirely different experience, horrible! This review is for Pink File nail bar, which is now in the former Ly Ly nail salon. If I could give half a star I would. Starting this review while sitting in my pedicure chair. This is a weekday afternoon and I'm the only one in the place. This is the worst and most frustrating pedicure experience I've had. My pedicure started with a nice gentleman having me soak my feet. Then he started to file my toe nails. I stopped him and told him to keep my big toe nails longer than the other nails on my feet. He started filing my nails before my foot even had a chance to soak. He filed my big toe and then proceeded filing my other toes which were long and needed clipping. I stopped and explained to him to please clip the other nails, otherwise it would take forever. He clipped one nail then went back to filing. I called over another woman and it was clear he did not speak English. As he proceeded it was obvious he had no experience giving a pedicure. He was not following any common procedure sequence. I called over the other woman again and said this is not working out. They then had a third woman come over and finish my pedicure. She spoke English and did a good job of finishing up. She obviously had experience, but was lacking in some of the process. She used the file on the bottoms of my feet and not on the edges where the calluses were. She did a nice leg massage with lotion however put the lotion only on the tops of my feet not on the bottom around any of the calluses. They were very pleasant but it was a very frustrating experience and took longer than it needed to. Save yourself a lot of time and go elsewhere. read more

I always get my nails done here because I absolutely love the location, but recently, I've started getting acrylics done here and I recently noticed that the last time I got my nails filled in, my nails have felt "weird" ( I can't honestly describe it) but I was getting my nails taken off to only notice that I got an infection on my right middle finger. Plus, if they're are any new comers coming to this place... don't! they don't clean there materials some of them are very rude the gel polish for gel manicures come off in less than a week and if I could do a zero star review I would. read more

The lady doing my toes tonight didn't buff my nails, used a cuticle nail clipper to cut down my toe nails, left cotton and polish on the sides of my toe nails! She kept apologizing throughout the entire process. Then as a different lady did my nails the lady rushed through them left a hair in my gel polish and my nails are not even straight! At the end they tried to over charge me by $15 - even after I complained about the services. When another lady got up after sitting for 40 minutes soaking her nails left I should have known better. I was a regular customer for a few months here despite some things I didn't like -- skimping on massage during pedicures and occasional rough handling of cuticles. The convenience, cleanliness and nice open space were appreciated. However due to a recent experience I won't be going back. I arrived on time for my 9 am appointment and was told by my nail tech who was also waiting in her car that the managers were running 10-15 minutes late and she couldn't open the store until they got there. I was on a tight schedule so couldn't wait around. To me this is inexcusable. If you say you open at 9, you should be there at 8:30 to open the store and get your business going. They must not care about being successful if this is how they treat regular customers. I also feel the prices are higher compared to other local nail places. read more

I couldn't find the Moreland location so I'm just gonna leave my review here. The place was literally empty and there were four open workers sitting around. I walked in and he didn't even let me pick a color or take my jacket off before starting. He set the gel colors next to me, but I couldn't compare them to my skin tone or flip to the next page as he wouldn't allow me to move my hand. I was not offered anything to drink which is common at all other nail salons. He rushed through my nails not even paying attention and was done in less than a half hour. He never let me know the price even when I asked and just took my card from my hand. I am never going back here. read more
