Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross.

The wall frames and Christmas decorations are gorgeous and there are tables, with comfortable seating, on one end of the Cafe. I ordered the following: Matcha White Hot Chocolate (a traditional matcha latte blended with white chocolate sauce), Snickerdoodle Latte (A traditional latte, blended with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla syrup). Both of these were served at the perfect temperature, were richly creamy, and served in large mugs. I also ordered a Carrot Cake Muffin and it was very good. It was moist, each forkful had a decent amount of walnuts, and the frosting was exquisite. Once you're finished with your food, don't forget to stroll through the entire cafe. You'll probably find something that will pique your interest. Either way, try to make time to enjoy it all.

The server was super kind. The owner was very friendly and speaking with guests. This is such a cute little cafe with about 10 tables. They sell clothing from local vendors which was pretty cool. Theres ample parking in the area. There was no wait. The food came out in a timely manner. Food is plentiful.

The entrance was confusing--it feels like you're walking into a clothing store, with a kitchen right next to it. Personally, I'd hesitate to buy clothes so close to cooking smells and fumes. The setup felt odd to me. Our server, Kayden, was a gem: attentive, polite, and welcoming. They were definitely the highlight of our visit. We started with the onion ring chutney, which I'd rate 2 out of 5. The onions were fried so hard that they were difficult to enjoy, but we were hungry and don't like wasting food. The tandoori chicken was underwhelming. The Foreigner burger had good flavor and was very juicy, but the fries were also overly fried and hard. I didn't understand the approach to fried hard. The Pom Pom juice tasted good, but it had too much ice and felt overpriced for what we received. I'm glad I finally tried it, and I appreciated Kayden's service, but the food and overall value left me unsure whether I'd return.

It's a very small homey like cafe where the few that were there seemed to have built a community. My mom and I came on a whim before a hike to the waterfall at Hemlock Falls at South Mountain Reservation. I ordered the avocado toast which had cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, crumbled feta and sriracha. While it wasn't overboard on the spice, if you are sensitive I would choose something else. My mom had the egg platter which came with scrambled eggs, bacon (turkey or pork) she had turkey bacon, white toast and the best seasoned sweet potatoes she's had. We also both had coffee she had a caramel latte and I had a white mocha, which were ok. The food was good but it was on the pricey side. It's a great spot if you are local otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to travel here.

There is almost always music playing and I really appreciate them taking orders over the phone and online. They also have this cool complimentary option of personalizing your cup with a black & white photo of you if you ask. I've also had the turmeric latte and the avocado toast which are worth getting again. The toast was fresh and flavorful. They have an enclosed booth that looks like it seats 4. Great for a little open privacy. The couches are quite comfortable as well. They have punch cards which is good, but I'm terrible with remembering so it would be great if they went digital with rewards. Maybe 1 point per visit or 1 point per $1 with tiered rewards. It's the only coffee shop I go to in the area that doesn't have digital rewards. Would love to see more vegan options on the menu, maybe a cinnamon roll lol. Con is they open late for a cafe. Coffee shops typically open at 7am.
