But my issues with this pedicure is I asked the girl to clip my toes down and remove and ingrown nail. I wouldn't recommend or use again. On a weekend getaway, I called to book an appointment a week in advance knowing I had a time crunch. They were understaffed and I was taken 30 min late. My two friends who booked the day before over the phone were told they "had not called" and "were not in the books" and were treated as walk-ins. They left. Second and more important... I am very pregnant and called ahead to ask if they had the right equipment for the 30 express massage (an adjusted table or chair) and was told yes, they could accommodate. When taken back (30 minutes after my appointment time) it was just a t Regular table. No special pillows, chair, or anything. The women seemed confused that this wouldn't work and offered a chair you would sit in when getting a manicure. I don't know how you would massage someone's back in a regular chair. I was really looking forward to a neck and shoulder rub and finally gave up on the idea. I went with a pedicure instead. The service was rough and painful. The massage and wait were such disappointments. The positive reviews may be from individuals who have not had spa pedicures before to compare to. Go somewhere else and pay more. This place is so clean! That's a huge pet peeve of mine if a nail salon is dirty, they take extra care here. We walked in on a Sunday for 3 deluxe pedicures and they got us in quickly. The pedicure massage felt so good and they did an excellent job on my toes. I'm sunburn from our beach day but they took extra care and even had an aloe pack for the lotion, scrub, soak, and mask. Surprisingly decent and way more than I expected for the price and reviews. I had a basic manicure, and the lady was doing it sort of half-heartedly while chatting with her colleague who was working on my friend's hands. The whole process was very short - perhaps 15 minutes - and costed me $14 plus tip. Let's first start with the "meh" part: The treatment was basic as in nail and cuticle trimming, and minimal massage and lotion. She soaked my fingers in a bowl with cold water, and it wasn't clear if they change or clean the bowl between customers. No warm gloves nor exfoliating. The polish painting was alright. She did 2 layers and 1 layer covers less area than the other, but the color I chose was a very light shade of pink so it wasn't obvious. Now, here is what bumped this review from 2 to 3 stars: the polish stuck on my nails for almost a week before the tip showed any sign of wear! I work in a lab, which means I use my hands all the time and wash them often throughout the day. I also play sports and instruments, so I never expect polish to stay intact. I was pretty impressed by this mani. Whatever coats she used was great. And she was so efficient I would actually recommend for ladies that are in a hurry. read more

I took my bf here for the first time and it was his first pedicure experience although he said it was good I got one too and it wasn't all that great. They were very nice but we could tell they were usto dealing with college students. The massage chair didn't work for me and the remote kept shutting off. I've experienced way better pedicures BC they massage you and really take time out to make your feet and legs relaxed. This wasn't the case. After she finished mine there was paint on the side of my toe which wasn't cool and had I missed it it still would be there. Attention to detail is very important when doing toes and clearly it wasn't to them at the time. Probably won't go back there. read more

Most people go to get their nails done to treat themselves.. and if you're going to pay $22 for a gel manicure you want to be able to enjoy it. I've never felt more awkward when getting my nails painted. The nail tech wasn't friendly and hardly said a word to me. I'm not asking for full blown conversation.. but it would have been nice to get a "hey, how are you?". I felt like a task that she was less enthused about completing. She didn't use the gel lamp correctly so it had to be redone. There was no apology, which was frustrating. I agree with many of the positive previous reviews that this is a clean place with nice, calm decor. They also have great pedicure chairs with really hot water for soaking your feet, which I love. Their polishing job on my toes was also remarkably meticulous, and the staff started out acting very friendly. HOWEVER, I rarely splurge on a mani/pedi and wanted a relaxing experience and got quite the opposite. 1. I had an appointment that allowed ample time for a mani/pedi before dinner reservations. They were not ready for me, and I waited over 15 minutes past my appointment time. 2. Then they frantically started the pedicure, saying they could still do both. 3. Changed their mind - not enough time...said they could rush through painting my nails at least. 4. I opted instead to ask for them to do the other part of a manicure instead of the polish since we didn't have time for the whole thing - you know, trim my cuticles...I can polish myself. 5. So, frantic filing and cuticle trimming ensues...not bad, but not the best I've ever had. He throws on a clear base coat and rushes me over to the drier. 6. Tries to charge me for the full mani/pedi package....really?! 7. Argues with me when I point out that a full manicure includes getting your nails painted. My favorite part is picking the color!! We argue over the definition of a "manicure." 8. Finally reluctantly and abruptly say they won't charge me for the manicure....I was willing to pay half, but they didn't want to really discuss it. 9. We all tried to end on a polite note, but I was late to dinner. 10. At dinner, I look down and notice my big toes still have rough skin on the bottom after all that.... I'll be looking for a new spot. But if you have better luck, their $35 price for a mani/pedi is pretty good - can't argue with that! read more

They looked up and didn't greet me initially then one said we're closed then the other chimed in "we're closed. But the open sign was lit and there were customers getting their nails done. This is definitely more upscale than the quick-stop shops in the mall. Therefore, it's a little more expensive. You're paying for the nicer massage chairs and a cleaner, more professional setting. With that said, it's also worth paying the few extra bucks not to have the nail people talking about you (or your really small pinky toe) in a different language. The people were nice and the reflexology massage was worth the upgrade. However, I do have a problem with the bottom of my feet looking like they took a cheese grater to it. Not very cool. That's my only complaint, and it's a big one. Thank god I have pedicure stuff at home and i can buff it down. I shouldn't have to go home and finish off my pedicure after paying 40 bucks for it. I would have scored this place higher marks if it wasn't for that. However, because this place had such a nice presentation, and it's so close to my work, I'm willing to try this place again. I like it far better than Allure. I will be sure to let them know about this experience and hopefully they can see to corrected the mistake. As an additional side note. This visit was a small girl outing. I was the first one to arrive and we did not have a reservation. I DID tell them that there were at least two others coming after me and they failed to prepare for that. One of the girls was stuck int he chair waiting for quite some time. She seemed cool with it, but I would have got up and left. Nobody has that kind of time at lunch, we have to get back to work. Do not get your nails done here!! Not worth the price OR quality. I just got a gel mani and regular pedi here. First, they assured me that my toe nail color would match my gel fingernail color and it was COMPLETELY off. Second, she made 2 of my nails bleed from ripping off my cuticles too roughly. Third, there was a HAIR inside my nail!!! This is the sloppiest manicure I've probably ever gotten... There's nail polish all over my skin. Oh, and the foot bath water was cold. The technician was doing a great job on my pedicure, as they usually do. Enter 4 college girls lurking in the doorway, who they couldn't yet accommodate but didn't turn away. After my pedicure service, I was told by the "leader" that appointments take priority and they couldn't do my manicure afterall. My technician looked horrified. I must have looked horrified too because I gave her a stink eye look, snickered, but didn't argue. Suddenly they then did try to accommodate me. Technician rushed through it looking over her shoulder at the leader and the waiting college students. And now my nails are crooked. Hope the college students they are so anxious to please have been tipping them 20% for the past year. I somehow doubt it. read more

They do Shellac, and some other similar Shellac-like polish, here. It's also very pretty inside, with an open floor plan and nice pedicure thrones. Just keep in mind the parking isn't always fantastic -- it's in that annoying shopping center on Erwin, and I only say annoying because they underplanned for parking (what a surprise in Durham). I go there about every two weeks now, to get my Shellac manicure redone. I started going there because the CND (who makes Shellac) website told me that they have Shellac there, and it's within Durham so it's geographically well-positioned for me. *AMENDMENT: They do colors on toes now! At first, I was unimpressed by their Shellac pedicure routine. The first time I got it done, it was a color (some deep purple). The second time, I made an appt to come in to get it redone. When I got there, they told me they only do french pedicures because it's too hard to remove colors -- with french, they only have to cut off the grown-out part at the tip. That was a little irritating -- I don't want French every time. So I've moved on to other places for Shellac pedicure. However, their manicure is FANTASTIC. Tracey does mine, and she is amazing -- I've never had a problem with dark colors of Shellac and that other brand which name I've forgotten. She is SO meticulous, asks me if my nail shape, etc, is ok, and when I ask her to change it, she's more than happy to. She gives great arm/hand massages, and even gave me a shoulder rub last time! Amazing. Also -- I've noticed that they have a lot of repeat customers. These customers are known by name, and to me, the fact that they have repeat customers AND that those customers' names are known, means they do better work than other strip-mall nail places do. read more

Clean place but the employees and work are something else. I have had three gel sets put on here, two of which were so badly done that I had to go in to have them redone. The first time they did it "on the house" but the poor guy redoing the nails told me it comes out of his pocket. Apparently management does not cover redoes even if it's their employees fault the nails were awful. In my case, after 4 days my nails were already lifting. They also overcharge you if you aren't watching. They like to add on an additional $5 for what I don't know. Even one of the employees told me to watch the bill and told me that it should be a certain amount. When I got to the counter to pay it was not that amount. ?? Oh, and they don't keep appointments. I made one and the guy quit and apparently they just erased my appointment as well. ? Their new people are not well-trained. They seem like they are just immigrants looking for a job and this is the first thing they can find so BE WARNED if it's a new person. They are untrained and can hurt you like they did me. Strange place indeed. Very few people speak English so for me there was a communication problem. The one guy kept burning me with the electric dremmel tool and although I kept saying "Ow!" he continued to do it, all the while looking up at the door as people came in. HORRIBLE! read more

I haven't been here in about 3 years but the service really went downhill. I got my first dip manicure. Every piece of equipment used on me - the emery board, the electric file - had been used before and was not cleaned or sterilized before being used on me. While my mani looks great, the electric file nicked my cuticle, causing it to bleed. The nail tech tried to clean it, but I'm pretty sure the nail sealant trapped some of the blood under and kept it in. I needed a band-aid. What good is a mani if you have to cover up a finger? I have been going here for a year. I have cheated and gone to three other places in the triangle since. Every time I have regretted it. My gels last three weeks. They are fast and curious. The environment is relaxing and they are even great with eyebrows! The only negative is that their pedicures don't get rid of my rough feet as well as other places. I should note I've never gotten a manicure or pedicure here, but their face waxing services are FANTASTIC. I've done eyebrow waxes, upper lip, and chin. I trust only this salon for my eyebrows and other face waxing. I tell them exactly what I want (natural eyebrows) and they do it perfectly. The staff is friendly and listen to your preferences. The end result is wonderful--nary a stray hair remains on the eyebrows and the waxing doesn't give me bumps or broken hairs like other salons. HIGHLY recommend. read more

This was my first time going to this spa. I just wanted a normal manicure and pedicure. The technician that did my manicure was very nice and did a good job. My pedicure was sub par. I usually get my heels done with a callus reducer and they either didn't have or don't use. I brought my own file and buffer with me but somehow that may have gotten thrown away after my mani. The technician was a little pushy trying to offer me gel polish and I reclined three times. My toes were polished and I was sent to have them put under the dryer. Once done, I was never offered a pair of throw away slippers and I walked out barefooted to my car since I had socks and shoes only (guess I needed to pay the upgrade of $5.00 to receive?). My normal salon charges $35.00 for both services but this spa charged $45.00. I will not go to this spa again and feel bad I didn't use my normal salon. Disappointed for what I paid for and what I received. I still left a $10.00 tip. read more
