The bald male nail tech with glasses is bad at doing simple nails. He did not let me wash the acrylic dust off my nails and then proceeded to paint my top coat. This resulted in a VERY BUMPY finish. His work in all was very poor; there were spots where the top coat didn't even touch. Not to mention he made my cuticles bleed from the excessive filing. I was even left with a lot of acrylic messily on my finger tips. The woman at the front table did not offer a price refund/ reduction at all. Regardless, I paid full price for their time. Worst experience ever. I came in and asked for a gel manicure and a pedicure with regular polish. After about 15 mins of waiting I was directed to the back for my pedicure first. The employee told me to have a seat and began filling the sink/tub with water. She didn't even check the temp and the water was cold. I had to say something for her to adjust the temperature. No soap or anything was added to the water and she began the pedicure. As she sat there working on my feet she tried to upsell asking if I wanted my eyebrows done and some type of gel hardener for my nails. I declined both and then she let me know that both services I wanted would be $75. I thought it was a bit pricey but whatever. Pedicure is over and I'm directed to the chair for my manicure. While there she tried to upsell me on dip powder I said no. She brought up the gel gardener again and told me if I didn't do it all my nails would split like my thumbs. Again I said no. She then suggested acrylic for my two thumbs that had splits to far down to cut. I said yes and that was an additional $5 tacked on to my bill. She barely cut my cuticles and again applied no product to the water my hands were soaking in. Just a bowl with cold water and marbles. My hands didn't even soak for a full minute and she was already clipping my nails and filing down. Then when it came time to paint my nails she didn't allow for the gel to fully cure under the UV light and as result I have the bubbled up gel polish look going. It's only been 3 days since I got my nails done and the splits on my thumbs are already showing through the gel polish. She added acrylic and charged me but didn't even care to seal the splits. So unpaid an additional $5 for nothing. Additionally she spent majority of my manicure on the phone cackling with her people and doing a poor job on my nails. The experience was so horrible I don't even want to return for them to fix my thumbs. Do yourself a favor and find another nail salon to patronize cause this ain't it. read more

Don't go there!!!!! So disat. Stopped by last Thursday to get a full gel paint and simple designs on my nail for an up coming trip to Secrets resort in Punta Cana and we left Saturday night and by then my nails looked like they needed a full. My nails are very disappointing the gentleman who did my nails knew they were for a special trip, including Christmas! Wish I could show pictures... it's less than a week and they need filled. I've been going to lux nails for a while with minimal issues. Yesterday I went for a fill and showed a picture of the color I wanted. I was told the color they had was similar but it absolutely wasn't even close. I left with a horrible yellow color that didn't resemble the pink cat eye color I asked for. They were also very thick. I tried sticking it out because I NEVER complain even when I'm not particularly happy but I have an event this weekend. I called the following day (today) to ask if I could please come back to have them fixed. She told me she was fully booked for the day so I asked if she was free Monday, before I could finish my sentence she said "no" without even taking a second to look at her appointment book. She made no attempts to resolve the issue or even refund me. I said I'd have to get them fixed elsewhere then and she hung up on me. When a loyal customer isn't happy you don't just hang up on them. I will never be coming back here. I've been nothing but respectful and always tip well over 20% for her service. I'm appalled by this behavior. I now spent almost $70 for a fill, (not including tip) which is insane, received none of it back, and have to pay someone else to fix my nails. read more

Newer salon and close to my house so I gave it a try. The prices aren't listed but I was needing a gel mani/pedi. I've never had a manicure so quick...not in the good way... she was on her cell the whole time talking and the process was so rushed- and it shows. Couldn't have felt more like an inconvenience rather than a customer. My nails already look like they're needing a fill and I just got them done Saturday. The lady who did my pedi was much better and through. Overall the quality was so so, nothing amazing but I suppose could be worse. Will likely go back only if the same lady helps me that did my pedi. Called ahead and made an appointment for a full acrylic set with gel polish. They were able to get me in the same day, so that's a plus! The girl was so rough with the dremel tool that many of my fingers are cut and burning through the whole process. My nails are not even, and some of them are even missing acrylic in some corners of my nails. The customer service was great, but these are not quality nails. One of the worst pedicures of my life. If i could give zero stars I would. I asked for a standard gel pedicure and even selected from the menu. The tech put in gel beads into the pedicure bowl and when I asked why she just said I would like it. I hated it and it was uncomfortable. I asked her three times to trim my nails. She wasn't filing my nails so I just thought she had a different process. When she brought out the file it was soggy like it had been sitting in water and she tried to file my toenails with this soggy file. She started to put the gel base on but I could tell my toenails were rough from where I was sitting. I asked her to file and she said they were straight enough. I finally felt my big toe and it was rough as it had not been properly filed. I asked again. She said she would file after that polish was on. I did not want that as what is the point in polishing of you'll just take a file to it. I'll never return to this nail salon. And the beads she told me I'd enjoy, cost an additional $15 to the pedicure. Worst pedicure of my life! read more

The first couple of times I went here they did a good job. This time left me thinking I need to find a new nail salon. I came in for a spa pedicure with an appointment and had to sit in the spa chair for about 15 minutes before someone came and started the water, then they left it to fill up and never came back to turn it off until I said something. The woman who did my nails was obviously in a hurry because the polish was clearly dripping off of my toe when she sent me to the dryer. In short, they did a shotty job. I've been there 3 times and I won't be back. The conditions there are unsanitary. They use the same nail file for everyone instead of using a new one for each customer. The woman that did my nails today didn't use sterilized instruments, she used the same instruments she had been using on everyone else. Normally when I go to the nail salon they pull out an unopened bag of instruments from a machine that cleans and sterilizes them. This is not the case here. They seem to be more interested in upselling services then listening to what services you actually want. I also had difficulty understanding what the nail tech was saying. read more

Wow, some of the reviews are so similar to mine. So, I wanted dip nails. Easy enough; except the tech didn't listen to me and choose the wrong color. Now this was my first time doing the dip nails. I asked at least 3 times about the color. I assumed this grey colored powder was just a base for the pink color. Turned out, it wasn't. When I asked her what happened she told me "it didn't matter" and that she would paint my chosen gel over the dip nails. Lol, it came out horribly (and thick!) and peeled less than 24 hours later. It wasn't a good experience and I wasn't going to get into an argument with the tech so I just paid and left. Funny, there was no mis-communication when it came time to pay; my total was $104 for my pedicure and "dip nails". That money could have gone in my gas tank! The young girl that did my toes did a great job. After the first toe was painted she looked up and said "Are you okay with the color?", so I'm seeing a trend here that the pedicures are okay but the nails are where the problem lies. They can't do nice, neat nails. This place isn't cheap and like a previous post, I went here because I live in the new community behind this location. They aren't the friendliest. It seems like they would rather be somewhere else (again, like the other comment stated). My nails are horrible and I will need to get them taken off a day after getting them. I'm out of my money and my nails are horrible! Note: I heard the manager taking an appointment over the phone and it just seemed like she just agreed to a time out of thin air. She said, "Yes, you can come next Tuesday at 5." She then simply hung up and continued what she was doing. My gel manicure chipped the next day and my pedicure chipped within 3 days. I was on vacation so not even cleaning or do dishes.

Nene did a great job on my pedicure, however, my nails were an absolute train wreck. I got dip powder nails and the guy working on them, rushed through the entire process. On top of that, the quality of powder was very poor. Him and the other woman working their even discussed how it was poor quality and how they should have gotten the C'N'C brand. Not only did I leave the shop with bumpy, thick nails, my nails were all sorts of different shapes.by day 3 there was already a chip and by day 6 my nails were beginning to lift. The following day I had to pull the dip off as my hair was getting stuck in the lifting nails. What a waste!!! Highly disappointed. read more

I got a pink gel manicure that lifted within 3 days. I went back to get it fixed and it was said that since the color was light and had three coats, that was why it lifted. I instead chose a darker color (teal), but that lifted within four days. read more

Went in for a pedicure and purchased the most expensive pedicure ($80), in hopes that it would be worth the price. When he was removing my gel polish that was left from my last pedicure, he cut 6 toes enough to where i bled. I took my Mommy to get her nails done on May 27th at your establishment. Her cuticles were not trimmed and her cut on her bloody thumb wasn't cleaned . The nail lady just put on nail polish and that was it--my Mommy is a Holocaust Survivor with an accent and your staff was prejudice. She paid $40.00 and gave a $10.00 tip. Shame on Lux Nails. Run as fast as you can! First of all, they double book which makes the nail techs rush and do a sloppy job. My appointment for a gel mani/pedi was for 4pm and didn't get started until 4:30 and left at 6:30 and there's only four nail techs. Pedicure was rushed and when she started my gel mani I stated that they looked bumpy and my nails were unevenly shaped so she got an attitude and said " the owner will finish when she's done with her client" then proceeded to get up and walk away instead of trying to fix the problem that she'd caused which was very rude/unprofessional. The end result: bumpy uneven shaped nails, ate up cuticles as if I were nibbling on them, sloppy polish application on both nails/toes as if a 5 yr old painted them, two cracked nails. I'd never refer anyone here for there services nor will they ever get another $62 out of me. I asked the owner why she double books and why they don't offer clients beverages/snacks and I was told "she can't find good workers because Ppl don't like to work" and about the beverages/snacks she said "I'm hungry too". read more
