I am here to tell you how pleased I am with the acrylic manicure that I received at Nails First. It was my good fortune to find Nina. Nina is a perfectionist. and she won't stop until both you and she are satisfied. I have had many manicures in my life, and I can say with great sincerity that this may be the best I have ever received. Nina's prices are about the same as everyone else in Mechanicsburg. I found a few more expensive. But I guarantee that no one will do a better job or be more committed to giving you exactly what you want. And the hours are great. First Nails is an appropriate name and I recommend you go there first! It is located on Main Street, Mechanicsburg, with parking in the rear. On street parking may also be available. Scheduled an appointment and still waited THREE HOURS. Just a mani-pedi, only two other customers there. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but that's not exactly my idea of a busy night. If they are that understaffed they NEED to function as appointment ONLY. I wasted three hours, nails don't even look much better than something I could have done myself. I asked for silver, pointed to the gel I wanted in the book and it came out looking nothing like the reference. It came on clear, so they just put black polish underneath. They put the top coat on so sloppy, my nails look messy with top coat all over my fingers. Do NOT go here unless you have many hours to spare and $60 to waste, even with an appointment the experience was ludicrous and overpriced. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! I don't even know where to start. I can here with one of my friends and we were both getting full set acrylics. I asked for French tips and even had a very clear photo reference. One of the workers there rudely shammed us for our "unhealthy" nail habits. The entire time, he was pushing and pulling our hands around very aggressively. He then painted my nails a pink color with out the French tip. When I told him that's not what I asked for, he rolled his eyes at me and started arguing with me even though I had made it clear from the beginning that I wanted French tips. The nails turned out horrible, very uneven and messy. The service was even worse. The man who did my nails left multiple times to smoke weed, which I could smell on him every time he came back inside!!!! read more

After being disappointed time and time again, my daughter and I were afraid to choose another nail salon. This salon was a cut above the rest! The salon owners treated us like royalty. Sometimes you go into a salon and feel as if you're bothering them, not here! It was staffed by only two people, possibly a husband and wife. They worked together wonderfully. When I asked if I could have a design on my big toe on each foot, the nail tech actually got excited. I didn't have to go into great detail, she did a beautiful job and never tried to up sell me. I've been coming here for 12 years. Small family owned shop with husband and wife working. There is a real benefit to having the same person do your nails. He knows exactly what I like, and he knows my nails. They take great pride in their work and take their time. They don't just slap some acrylic on thickly and get you out because they have some manager watching them to see how many customers they can move in a day. Their prices are reasonable and the same as those you find in the "acrylic mill" salons. Go there. I promise you won't be disappointed! read more
