Never will go here again. I called and made an appointment for a gel fill with a cats eye. Got quoted 38$. When I got here. They were very rude and not welcoming one bit. She ended up putting gel builder instead of acrylic in my nails. Without asking me first of all. When i had asked what that was and if it was the same as acrylic she said yes. I like unique nail designs....nothing super hard -- just unique. I relocated to Harrisburg about 1 1/2 years ago and have been to numerous nail salons looking for someone who can do designs from Pinterest, etc. I also really like chrome, but many places don't have too many chrome color options. I was perusing Yelp for a new nail spot and found Gel Nail Spa. They had some pics posted of some really cool, unique nail designs and Anna seems to get good reviews. I called and was able to make an appointment with her on the same day I called. The waiting room is a nice size and there is a comfy couch and TV to watch while you are waiting. They also do pedicures and they have an adorable kids size pedicure chair with a giant pink bear head on the top. I'd say it can seat up to a 12 year old depending on size. I'd never seen that before and thought it was a great idea. I didn't have any trouble parking, but there is limited parking in front of the building. Anna did a great job on my nails and took her time to make sure they looked the way I wanted. I plan on visiting again! read more

Very meh at best. Technicians are friendly and kind, but that's about it. One of my nails is not painted to the edge, others have polish all over the cuticles, and the gemstones don't match up on the nails, especially on my left sided pinky nail where it is completely not centered. It's obvious that while they know what to do, they do not pay attention to detail. Unfortunately I won't be going back. These are what my nails look like only 2 hours after my trip. Definitely not worth the 33 dollars spent. Update: 5 days later and most of the gems have popped off, and the polish itself has both began to chip and started to lift from the nails. I've been debating posting a review, because I don't want to be 'that' person. But maybe someone else can learn from my experience. I made an appointment to get a gel manicure. When I walked in, I was asked again, "You want a gel manicure, right?" Yes. I want gel. I was given a bunch of gel nail colors to choose from. Before the technician started, (not Anna, who I assume would not have swindled me like this guy did) he asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted gel on all of my nails EXCEPT for my thumb nail (which was a lot shorter than the rest of my nails, and I wanted to keep my natural nails in tact; hence gel polish.) I asked for acrylic on my thumb nail, topped with the gel polish I had picked out, and JUST GEL on the rest of my fingers. He said something about dip powder, and not knowing any better, I said, like acrylic powder? Yes. JUST FOR MY THUMB. I've lived outside of the states for a few years, so I'm not really up to speed on the new nail trends in the states. I didn't know what 'dip powder' was. But after he started doing it to all of my nails, I thought, 'Maybe this is just a new, trendy powder that will turn into a gel that he'll cure?' I looked on the container, and it said 'acrylic powder' among a slew of other ingredients. My heart sank, and I asked him, "Is this acrylic? Are you putting acrylic on my nails?" He said that it was dip powder. He assured me that it was different. Not acrylic. Safer than gel for my nails, and would last a very long time. Okay. That's great. But that's NOT what I asked for. I asked for oval nails with gel. I got rounded, bumpy nails; uneven and ugly. The accent color I asked for was turned muddy from the other pink powder on the other nails. I kept waiting for it to get better, but by the time I realized that it wasn't going to get better, it was too late, and I would have had to sit there for another 2 hours, getting my 'not acrylic' nails soaked off. To make matters worse, when I got home, I googled 'dip powder' and multiple articles stated 'DO NOT get this done at a salon if they don't put the dipping powder in separate bowls. This is very unsanitary as every client's fingers are being dipped into the same bowl.' He waited until I was about to pay before telling me that dip powder manicures are more expensive. So I ended up paying way more for something I didn't want. I barely made it out of the salon without crying. I had such high hopes for this salon due to the many wonderful reviews, (all about the owner, Anna, who I should have requested to do my nails in the first place) however, I was incredibly let down. I will not be going back. And I really hope the next time a new person walks through the door, they don't have the same kind of experience that I did. read more

Finally! I've been looking for a new salon that when I show a picture of my nails I can get them exactly like the picture. I almost gave up. But I found this place via Yelp and I read the reviews and the good out weighed the bad. And the reviews were accurate.I Love my nails and I'm so happy it's not far from my house. Stopped into this place while I was visiting Harrisburg because I desperately needed a manicure. I was so impressed! I was a walk in and got service right away. Nail tech was gentle and meticulous. She did the most perfect square nail shape, fixed up my cuticles (which can get pretty bad), and overall did the best gel mani I've had in awhile. The place is cozy and clean. The staff here are genuinely friendly and down-to-earth folks. I had a nice little conversation with my manicurist. I think their space is large and inviting. It's nicely decorated and not too fussy. I love that it doesn't smell like acrylic when you walk in. That is my least favorite thing about nail salons. I get it...if you go to a nail salon, it should be expected. However, I like that this place had a waiting area off to the side so it's not a head on attack to the nose as soon as you enter. They also have a ton of the latest magazines to look through. Every time I go to Gel Nail Spa, I am reminded why I don't go anywhere else. There is a wide selection of colors to choose from, the techs are very attentive and really take their time with your nails, and the prices are very fair for the quality. I also find that my gel manicures last several weeks longer when I get them done at Gel Nail Spa than when I get them done anywhere else. The space is very clean and smells nice, and there is a comfortable waiting area (although I've almost never used it because I get taken very promptly). Highly recommend! read more

This place is bomb. Super nice. Nice comfy waiting area. I've gotten my nails done like 5x bc I'm OCD about how shape turns out and it's never been good anywhere I've gone except here! The shape is so perfect and she helped me figure out the best type for me acrylic/dip/gel since I don't get them done often. I didn't get the girls name that did my nails but she did an amazing job and I already scheduled another appointment for 2 weeks with her. She took her time and paid attention to detail and would ask if everything was ok so she could fix it the way I like. I'm not one to leave reviews unless I 100% feel I need to, but I was charged 52 dollars for gel nails with butterfly decals on them that needed to be secured under top coat. The nail tech who did my nails was very friendly and sweet I just feel as though she didn't really know what she was doing. My nails are the thickness of acrylics and extremely bumpy. Day two and the the butterflies are already popping off because they weren't put on correctly. When I had first arrived a nail tech filed them and put dehydrator on and then sent me to the waiting room because her other appointment got there. She told me not to touch anything and I sat there for ten minutes to finally get passed off to the tech that actually did my nails. I just feel like it wasn't worth the 52 dollars considering they are missing top coat on the sides, the butterflies are coming right off, and they feel like sandpaper. read more

The women who work here are incredibly nice. That being said, I may have received one of the worst manicures. The gel manicure I received had uneven color and smudges all around my fingers with pools of the dark polish on the edge of my nails which I didn't notice until after I got home. My pedicure was good but again, smudges on my toes. I'm disappointed because the women are so nice but in terms of quality they aren't great. read more
