I received a 3-month pass to Hand and Stone Massage as a Valentine's Day gift, and my experience…read morehas been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. It's been a series of issues from the start, and I can confidently say I will never return. First, when I tried to schedule my first massage, the soonest appointment I could get was nearly a month out. I finally secured one for March 11th, only to have it cancelled last minute because the employee assigned to me had to leave early that day. After waiting almost a month for this, I still didn't get the service. The next available appointment was days later, but unfortunately, I was working and couldn't take it. This wasn't the first time I've encountered issues either--back in October, I received a birthday gift card, scheduled and confirmed my appointment via email and text, and when I arrived, they had no record of it. I had to show the front desk my confirmation just to prove it. As a registered nurse who spends most of her day on her feet, bending, lifting, and walking, I look forward to these moments to take care of my body. But Hand and Stone has made it impossible to do so. I've called multiple times requesting a refund, as I no longer want the pass or any services. I contacted the manager a week ago, but when she returned my call, I was working. I tried to call her back, left a message, and even sent an email--and have received no response. Today, I thought maybe I could finally schedule something and get this over with, but the first available appointment was April 24th. The employee even suggested I drive 45 minutes to their Lancaster location, which is utterly ridiculous. When I asked to speak to the manager again, I was told she was in a meeting and it would be 1-2 days before I heard back. This company has been incredibly inconvenient and unprofessional. I've been to other massage spas in the area, like Elements, Riah Spa, and Inertia, and none of them require booking a month in advance, nor have I ever experienced such poor customer service. At this point, I just want a refund and will never waste my time with Hand and Stone again. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Spent a girl's weekend in Hersey and decided to plan a spa day. We decided to go with Polish Salon…read more& Spa based on the reviews. When we arrived were greeted by a gentleman (unfortunately his name escapes me) who during our entire visit (4 of us with strong personalities) treated us with kid gloves. He immediately took our coats and asked what type of beverage we would like (tea, coffee or wine). Yesss...I'm liking him already. We had to complete some paperwork and was then was escorted to the Zen room. We each sat, drank and chatted away until it was time for our appointments. We all were taken about the same time for our treatments which was good. I went with the deep tissue massage. My masseuse Christine was awesome. She ask me if I had any questions or any areas that she wanted her to work on. I explain my aliments which were my calf's and the heels of my feet from my workout in the gym. Christine worked on those areas and gave me suggestions on things I could do at home to alleviate some of the pain. She spoke only if I had questions which is what I like and was professional and caring. She made it a wonderful experience. Thanks Polish Spa for making me and my girls spa day a start to a relaxing day.

This was my first visit to this salon, and I came because I researched reviews and was excited to get a few services, which I never do for myself. All services were booked through Polished Salon on Phorest. I specifically asked for callus removal before and during my pedicure on my first visit, the young girl who did my pedicure replied " oh yeah! definitely! we've got an hour an a half!" but it was not provided. Instead, I was told to come back the following week, and they ended up doing an entire keratin treatment to remove my calluses. When I asked the front desk staff why the callus removal treatment was not performed during my first visit, the front desk staff replied, "I don't know." I booked a brow lamination service expecting professional results and clear communication, but the service did not turn out as expected. After my appointment, I noticed issues with the lamination and returned to the salon several times in an effort to have it corrected. Throughout the follow-up process, communication was very frustrating. The technician was difficult to reach, and when I contacted the salon with my questions and concerns, I was told she operates as her own separate business and that they could not help with concerns related to her work or clients. Since I booked through the salon, it was disappointing to feel that no one was willing to take responsibility for helping resolve the issue. The experience quickly became overwhelming as this was my FIFTH time back within one week, I was given answers such as "I don't know," and I felt the front desk had essentially told me I was on my own. I specifically asked the front desk staff to help me and provide answers; I never demanded a refund. I also apologized to everyone in the waiting area as I began to have a panic attack. I was sobbing so hard I could barely catch my breath. Another customer at the salon kindly stayed with me outside for about 30 minutes until I calmed down. I also reached out to the salon owner to share my concerns, but instead of feeling heard, I was described as causing a "commotion" and "aggressive," which was hurtful given how respectfully I had tried to address the situation. The technician did eventually refund the cost of the eyebrow service, but only after offering to redo my lamination for the 3rd time in one week (not healthy or safe) multiple return visits and a significant amount of time and effort on my part. During my last visit, she said she had "done a lot of work" on me and explained that my brow lamination was more of a "straightening" of my brow hair. My brows are naturally straight, so this would not have been necessary. I wish that had been discussed before the service or at my first follow-up, not after five visits. If my brows were not a good candidate or the results were expected to be limited, I should have been told upfront. While I appreciate the refund, it did not make up for the repeated trips, poor communication, and emotional distress. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business, and I hope my review helps others make an informed decision before booking.

Artemis Spa I had…read morebooked an hour massage each for my best friend and me. We were given a survey to answer questions which would determine the massage we would each get. This was done easily by email and We got different massages. When we got there, they were very welcoming. We didn't even have time to sit down before they called our names, into the lightly lit room. The staff made us very comfortable, and gave us each specific yet easy to follow directions. Each masseuse had us undress to our comfort level, w towels and comfortable beds. They also Give us plenty of time to do so and then knocked and requested to come in when it was time. At first I was concerned that 60 minutes would be way too long in that I might get bored or restless, but that was definitely not the case. I have many physical issues, as does my best friend, and It was strange when he started to massage me because it didn't feel like he was really doing anything. sometimes just kind of like lifting up my hip a couple inches or my shoulder but it really did feel better afterwards. Tony really did seem to do something in manipulating or massaging my hip and shoulder. I can't tell you enough how wonderful this massage was. It was never painful, and Tony asked me several times if the pressure was OK. Which it was. He was very appropriate and I would highly recommend Tony at Artemis spa. I've had many massages and none have come even close to what I would call a medical massage. Not chiropractic, but just perfect touching in every place anyway. We both had different massages that were based upon our survey as I said earlier and we were both extremely pleased and both agree that these were the best massages we had ever had. The surroundings are modern, clean and calming I have to firstly think Tony for the best massage I've ever had. Secondly I have to apologize greatly for the dirty feet and I unknowingly had. I had on sandals and had been walking through the wet park earlier. I couldn't give this place 100 stars so I have to settle with five stars on Yelp, but I would definitely advise that you go here. On a sidenote we have been staying at the Reynolds mansion. I cannot attest for their masseuse as we had booked with her but she was on vacation that week. It is a little difficult to find if you're not from the area but it's definitely worth it.

Location is a huge pain because you have to find somewhere to park on the street. Or in a garage…read more The inside is gorgeous. From the moment you walk in you feel like you're in a Asian spa. I had reflexology done there and it was decent. Not as much pressure as I would have liked. Very relaxing. I go to another location in town as well sometimes just because it's easier to park, but it doesn't have this amazing spa theme throughout the office.

My husband and I always feel so welcomed here. Kelly is incredibly kind, accommodating, and inviting. Breakfast is excellent every morning, and they provide a daily charcuterie board to snack on, which is such a nice, thoughtful touch. We also loved that they have a fully stocked, self service coffee bar available anytime, featuring a great variety of coffees, espressos, teas, and even hot chocolate to suit whatever mood you are in. If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is it. The staff is so friendly, and having spa services available right on site makes it even better. Plus, it is in a great location, just a short, easy drive into Middletown to grab lunch or dinner. This is the perfect place to truly unwind and recharge. Thank you Kelly for making us feel at home and for your generosity. Your warm and positive energy truly shows. We cannot recommend Beaver Creek enough.

You can tell Kelly takes a lot of pride in the integrity of the historic home and of her business. Ashley was wonderful too, they were excellent hostesses but did not hover and it felt very quiet and secluded- exactly what I needed! A lot of the one star reviews don't fully explain or give enough details to why IMO. My package included a manipedi, 30 minute massage, 30 minute facial and a salt cave session. My mani pedi was great. Nicole was my technician and she was super friendly and personable. It was nice to have a conversation instead of awkward silence that you get at a lot of nail salons. My nails are virtually perfect. Next was my facial, done by Shelley. This was my first facial and at first I didn't really like it. Just the overall feeling of all the stuff rubbed on my face, but definitely just a personal preference. But after I got over the weird sensations it was extremely relaxing. She used a lot of aromatherapy as well which was really nice. Then was sort of some pressure point/massage type stuff that felt amazing. Then I went onto my massage with Nicole again. It was extremely enjoyable. It was definitely high pressure, which I was fine with. And she handled multiple times to make sure I was comfortable and if I needed the pressure adjusted. It was a very relaxing experience. Next time I will probably ask for less pressure just to be bit more relaxed. After this I was escorted to the desk and checked out. Once I got home I realized we had missed my salt cave session! I called and left a message (I don't think they leave the phone on just because the ambience in there is super soft and relaxing) and they returned my call very quickly. They let me know they would put in the computer that I have a credit for the salt cave. So I am very happy they were accommodating to their mistake. I'll update my review about the salt cave after I go! All in all a wonderful experience. They're constantly asking if you need anything and offering water, tea and coffee. They also have wine available which I will have to try next time. The place is beautiful which I didn't expect from the outside. Definitely recommend!!
