Good place to go to. Nails always come out great they just always take a long time complete a gel fill

The worst dip powder I have ever received/experienced. If I could put negative stars I would. I got my nails done 4 days ago by TONY who was the absolute worst. I sat down and said Hi and he did not speak. He did not speak to me nor look at me the entire time. He only spoke when he had to ask me a question and was extremely rude about it. I asked for Coffin shape and I did not receive it. He didn't even clean my cuticles. I get my nails done all the time and he missed multiple steps ( didn't even ask me to wash my hands). He only did 2 coats of powder on my real nails. Immediately after the color was cracking(see photos). Never have I ever had my dip crack. 4 days later 2 nails randomly broke(see photo). What a waste of $50. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY!!!!!! ******update: I went back to have them redo my nails and TIM was extremely rude to me from the beginning telling me "where did I come from" and he "doesn't care if I come back". I just can't believe that when a paying customer comes back in disappointment due to their lack of good service this is how they respond. I just hope this helps someone save their time cuz I wish I saved mine. read more

Lux Nails & Spa - Absolutely disgusting - Waxing Near Me - Dedham, Massachusetts

See all

I cannot even describe the disappointment and I hadn't even gotten my nails done yet. I made a 6:30 PM appointment. I showed up on time - the gentleman at the reception desk asked me what I needed, so I told him I had an appointment at 6:30 PM for a manicure and pedicure. After I told him this, he and the rest of the employees started laughing hysterically. I stood there, in shock not knowing what was happening. Long story short, he mentioned that the woman answering the phones that day was taking appointments and never input them in their appointment book. There must have been about 20 other customers waiting for their "alleged appointments". Another woman walked in right after me and stated she also had a 6:30 PM appointment. Again, everyone started laughing like it was a comedy show. Buddy, you're running a business, you shouldn't be laughing at your customers when you can't handle your own business! NEVER GOING BACK, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

Well, I went in with two eyebrows and left with .25 of an eyebrow above each eye. Sad, sad day. The aesthetician was a bit overly eager when it came to waxing the 'ole brows. Next time I'll... you know what?! There isn't going to be a next time when it comes to waxing at this salon. No bueno. read more

I got the worst gel manicure of my life here! Honestly the only word for it is pathetic. You could see the white tip of every nail and at least 3 of them had streaks on them. When I pointed this out to the owner or whoever it was and said this gel manicure is horrible, he mumbled sorry while still asking me to pay $25. I paid but wish I hadn't and I will certainly never go back here. With so many nail salons right in this area I would be SHOCKED if this place lasts. Someone else came in complaining while I was getting my manicure, now I understand why. read more

I tried Lux because I was running an errand at legacy place, and it was convenient. There is not much parking because 50s dinner patrons park in the spots in front of the salon/spinning studio. I was checked in and brought back as soon as I chose a color. Pedicure was very thorough. Almost an hour was spent on my feet. Then I was taken to the manicure station. My nail tech disappeared for 10 minutes. She then drew blood twice while cutting my cuticles, a couple of my nails were also filed crooked. Considering I spent nearly two hours at the salon, I am furious to report I had three nails chip this morning, less than 24 hours after I left the salon. I will most certainly not be back. read more

I called Friday to make appointment for 2 people on Saturday I spoke to the owner Angela and asked her for a mani/pedi for one person and just a mani for the second person. She gave me a time and I asked her again... 2 people at the appointment time and she responded with " okay honey". I arrive on Saturday with my mom who was getting both services and Angela tells me " oh no I didn't understand u wanted mani, honey" I said I told u that the appointment was for 2 people... so do u have someone to take me now? The salon was busy... 3 pedi chairs were full and at least 10other customers were getting manicures. She said yes honey go sit at first chair... I sat for an hour, while getting up and asking her when would someone become available.... now honey she told me. The tech sat down and I said I've waited an hour, the tech next to her looked over at me and said "oh we didn't know u wanted mani too.." I replied I told Angela the appointment was for 2 people, I don't know why she didn't understand..she either wasn't listening to me or doing something else when she was talking to me". I thought.. why am I explaining myself to this tech who isn't even giving me a manicure. As I was drying, I was disappointed and upset by this, I told Angela I was and if she would discount or offer me any kind of refund for making me wait an hour.... she walked away from me without saying a word. As I was paying for my mom, I asked once again and explained that even though I got a mani, the tech rushed through it and it just wasn't a relaxing and enjoyable experience.... she told me what I owed and I then said you have lost my business...does that matter to u... she shook her head... OKAY.... ALL IN ALL. RUDE, UNNECESSARY, DOESNT CARE ABOUT FOSTERING GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES OR ABOUT HER CUSTOMERS AND JUST PLAIN DISRESPECTFUL.... MY DISSATISFACTION DIDNT SEEM TO MATTER TO HER AT ALL.. IT HAS A FACTORY MENTALITY AND IS RUN LIKE ONE... ALL THE OWNER SEES AND CARES ABOUT IS $$$$$$$ Lost any and all my future biz read more

I am not one to leave negative reviews but this upset me. I get my nails done every 2 weeks and have come here a few times. Every time I come I have a bad experience yet I still come back. I went yesterday to get a dip manicure. DIP, not gel with the UV light. I chose my color based off of tons of samples they provide and it was a light pink-ish whitish which similar to the color I always get. As soon as the woman started I knew something was a little off. Typically when I go they start with a base coat. She applied the powder on with a gel clear polish, and it didn't look like the right color to me. I asked about it and they said that it would get lighter like the sample. So I waited... then when she was finished the color was nothing like what I wanted it to be, and she had topped it with a clear gel coat and had me put my hands in the UV light which I have never experienced at other salons while doing the dip powder. After I was finished she kept clipping the skin around my nails and then soaking it in either alcohol or acetone which i was annoyed with because it hurt. Anyways- I sound like a snob but I'm not just complaining about the color- my nails feel and look frail and weak when usually dip makes them thicker and hard. This is the part that makes me the most upset. I called today to explain the story to the manager- he said he remembered me and that it was my fault for picking that color. I tried to explain that it is more than just the color and asked if I could come in to have them fixed and he legit said NO. So, I won't be going back there and now have to go to another salon to pay another $45, but I'm sure they will be more friendly and actually get the job done right. read more

Came with a group of 5 (3 adults, two kids) for pedis and had such a great experience! They had fuzzy pillows for the kids, the water lit up and changed colors (kids loved it) and the gentleman who welcomed us brought a huge bowl of candy for the kids to pick some treats and some water and wine for the adults. All the ladies were incredibly friendly and very sweet with the kids and we all had beautifully done pedicures! read more

I have gone to them a few times but today was my last time. The nail tech cut my cuticle aggressively which caused some bleeding. When I pointed it out she dismissed it like it was not important. When I showed angela the "manager", she took over and was even more hasty and came across annoyes. I've also gotten my lashes done twice by Angela the only ine that does lashes there and the lashes does not last long enough maybe 2 weeks...maybe. not worth $150 whatsoever. So guess what you will never got another coin from my pocket. read more

WOW. I have never felt so many emotions during a nail service in my entire life. I waited at least 10 minutes just to be seated after picking out my color- employees kept looking at me from a distance without saying a word. I almost left then and I sure should have. I asked for dip polish, was handed one ring of colors and I politely asked if this was everything they had. They responded as if that was a large selection, again another red flag. The nail tech clearly did not know how to do dip powder but felt like she should give it a go anyways. My nails were bumpy, the dip powder was sliding off of them, it looked like trash half way through. She started to redeem herself by smoothing the powder down but ultimately ended up just making marks all over my nails. I already had a coffin shape going as my last nail tech (out of state) was phenomenal yet I have ended up with maybe 3 coffin shaped nails and the rest rectangular. The nail tech realized once she was completely done that some of my nails were messed up so decided to fix them - 6 out of 10 nails. Now, half my nails are a shade darker than the others, all my cuticles were sawed off and destroyed, the color is grainy and one nail has chipped less than 24 hours later - keep in mind, powder does not generally, if ever, chip. I have never been so disappointed in a service before. read more

Just left here after receiving a manicure. The space is gorgeous! Very white, elegant, and clean! The owner was very kind, as was the whole staff. My manicure was done very well, and while my nails were drying she gave me an arm and shoulder massage. They also offer complementary drinks including wine which is a nice touch. I posted about them in FB while I was there and about 20mins later my mother in laws toes were in the water for a pedi. She was also very very pleased with her experience! Can't wait to go back! read more

We were rushed and our appointment at 2:00 but we finally got started at 3:00. We were rushed and got no treatment. She just slapped nail polish on. I said no flowers yet I got them! She fixed my chip then she smudged the new polish she just put on. Then she left and didn't come back to fix it. read more

When we first started going here, the service was great, but now they don't seem to care about inconveniencing the customer at all! We went to Tony for our gel nails, he does EXCELLENT work. My sister and I have been going there for over a year. Recently, on 3 separate occasions, we made appointments at least 2 weeks in advance each time. The first time, we received a call (on the day of our appointment) to let us know that Tony was not going to be in. The last two times, we showed up and only then were we told "he was on vacation for the weekend". NO CALL, NO APOLOGY, they did not even TRY to accommodate us. By the 3rd time I was done! I walked out and will not return. I refuse to give my money to a business that has no respect or courtesy for the customer. No matter how good Tony is, there is always someone out there just as good or better and Lux Nails & Spa Owners should keep that in mind. No matter how good business is, always treat your customers right! read more

this place is WAY overpriced for cheap work. on the outside it looks nice but don't be fooled. i finish my pedicure and go to get my nails done and as the lady's doing my dip, she drops all her things and walks away with her phone. i'm waiting, and next thing i know some man without a mask or his hair up, unshaven, not looking ready for work sit down and starts doing random things to my nails the other lady already did so obviously he had no idea what he was doing, HE HASNT EVEN WASHED HIS HANDS, he did it midway through touching up my nails waiting for the other lady to come back, she finally comes back and does a crappy job on my nails, i was paying 90 dollars and this is what i get? only 10% off. ( also she didn't even fully take off the yellow nail polish i had on before which i reminded her to do because i noticed she forgot. now it looks like i have yellow gunk under my nails) unprofessional. read more
