Alice took care of us few times ( pedi). She's pretty good. Today I got a full set ( not sure who it was, Ivy, possibly) and it wasn't a great job. I have been going to Tulips for years. I've been patient but lately they have been slacking big time. My full sets are usually have nails falling off after the first 3 days. I used to be able to go here and have my nails last for 2 weeks unless I have been doing heavy hand use. The polish chips and is done in a rush job. I tried getting gel and even the gel polish chipped after just a few days . This place is good for pedicures, lashes, and even eyebrows but if you like long nails & a lasting paint job, this isn't the place. read more

Ive had rmtoo many run ins with her that im done. The last straw was when i called to cancel my appt. It was at 10a. I called at 945. No answer thinking they upen at 10, i called back. Her tesponse. Next time give more notice, i mean calling at 945 gor 10a appt? I said Linda if i could called earlier i would. She said whatever and hung up on me. After being a customer since a little girl, I will never give tulips my money again. Sue (the owner) is the most ignorant women you will encounter. She does not trust her employees to use her credit card machine so when she leaves at 6pm every day and the nail salon stays opened until 8:30 you get turned away. I've been a client of Tulip Nails for at least 20 years and they are now totally unprofessional! Today was the 5th time I've made an appointment and had to wait. Please understand that I never expect to walk in an be seated but August 9th I waited 1.5 hours for my APPOINTMENT with Kim and today I had a 2:30 appointment with Lee, walked in at 2:20, saw that Lee was putting acrylic on someone's nails and figured okay I can wait what I thought would be about 25 minutes but after Lee applies the acrylic, she proceeds to start the pedicure! Like why the hell did I make an appointment if someone can walk in and take my place???? I asked Sue about it, she sort of ignored me at first but seen that I was pissed so she decided to talk to Lee just to come back and tell me Lee will do it after she's done! I walked out and will NEVER return! Also, the work is now super sloppy! It's not even been two weeks since my last visit and my nails looked like shit! In August I went to Dominican Republic and was told the dip powder would last weeks! The first day there I went to open the patio and my nail chipped!!!!! I got them done the day before! Yes I kept going back because honestly I was just used to them and didn't want to start new with another place, but when I left there today I knew I would never return! Customer service sucks and I'm stupid for paying my hard earned money to be treated badly and to only like their services maybe 50% of the time or less! I have been getting my nails and feet done every 2 weeks for the past 10 plus years. My daughter started going here and invited me to try it out. What a bad experience. The lady giving me a pedi cut the back of my heel, took a nice chuck out with the pumice stone. When I sat down to get my nails done, I asked if i should get a new set since my nails had grown out, the tips would seen be braking off and it has ben my experince to replace them. She assured me they did not need to be replaced. That she would take care of it for me. Two days later was Easter, the tip breaks off. I had to walk around like that for a couple of days before i can go back to get it fixed. I go back and talked to the lady who did my nails and showed her my broken nail, the unhealed cut on my heel and how the gel polish was already chipping. She was accommodating and took me write away, fixed the nail, put some ointment on the cut, repainted the chipped nails and charged be $10. $10 for what? to fix the broken tip that you told me wouldnt break? or for the cut that has caused me discomfort where i wear my shoes or is it the chipped polish from a week old polish job? At work now, another nail just broke....i will not go back...they will charge me again....this has never happened at my usual place. Guess i ll stick to mines. read more

I went there recently to get a full set and I ask a lady to cut my cuticles for me because that's pretty much what they always do when you get your nails done I'm pretty sure that should come with the service she said oh for me to do that it will cost you an extra five dollars mind you I had probably like two pieces of skin that I just wanted to be cut and you're going to charge me five dollars ?!! oh they really lost their minds. when I can go home and cut them myself for free. You're defending someone who had ample time to do the job right but did it extremely sloppy. I did not call and ask for any price. I originally asked for gel tips but seen powder in front of me and ask how much is the difference. She said $40. Gel is $35. If someone asks for dip tips FYI, they want tips glued on, and then dipped in colored powder. She gave me the worst acrylics I've ever seen, and then dipped them in pink powder. There was absolutely no color in the end. It looked like a five year old did it. She was going to let me walk away like this which is sad on your business. I refused to be seen that way so I said "there's no color, can I just get gel?" Not obnoxious in any way. She immediately caught an attitude and told me it's supposed to look marble. NO. ITS NOT. And no matter what, if I don't like the result, it shouldn't be a question. Fix it. Her "work" was lazy and careless. She slapped on gel and sent me on my way. I couldn't complain at this point because I was the last one there and we all had places to go. So the next day I explained the situation to YOU. Rudest bitch on planet earth. If I left with gel color, I should be charged for gel color only. $35. How did we get to $47? I have no idea. You had the nerve to tell me you'll fix it, did it with the most ignorant look on your face and no sympathy for my disastrous nails. You started filing like you were out for vengeance and when I brought it to your attention you're demeanor became even worse. But I let you. STILL had terrible crooked nails. Went crazy with the file but couldn't straighten them? That's when I had an actual good tech come and do them, because if I'm paying fifty bucks for my nails (25 each hand, 5 bucks per nail, btw) they need to look fantastic and they were ultimately depressing. Nothing you say can justify that. Doesn't matter if you didn't like me speaking up. I was handling myself quite respectably but of course when you're too proud to admit to a bad job, you see things the way you wanna see them. I'm a Dorchester resident and for many years I have shop hopped several nail salons in the area. A relative recommended Tulips Nail Salon and Spa I'm no longer shop hopping. It's a no frills shop that makes you feel pampered, the technicians pay special attention to your nails and feet which gives you results that will put a smile on your face as well as receiving compliments several days later. I also have my lashes (individuals) filled in and talking about compliments I had a national known make up artist compliment my lashes during a make up session with him. The prices for whatever services you receive are reasonable. Men don't shy away because you will be taken care of as well. WORST decision of my life, I walked out missing half of one eyebrow! Their business model is not about quality work and customer satisfaction, anything for a dollar. Manicurist kept interrupting my fill to do other clients eye brows, most of the nail polishes are very obviously watered down (I own the nail polish I picked out, and it was very diluted). The paint job on my nails isn't smooth at all. Probably won't be going back. I'd rather pay more to have someone who doesn't interrupt my manicure every 5 minutes to see another client and to have nail polish that isn't more than half water, no wonder it took 30 minutes of drying and it still looks sloppy. They offer a wide variety of services from mani/pedis to eyelash extensions. No matter what service I go for I am always pampered and made to feel like I am the only client. Don't bother going to this nail salon to get anything done. It would be a complete waste of time. I went to get a pedicure done last Thursday. It was 90 degrees outside and these people did not have AC nor did they have any fans on. I didn't relaize it when i walked in because it was pretty cool. As soon as I sat down to get my toes done that's when I felt the heat. There was a couple people sitting next to me that were not satisfied with the results of their pedicures and the worker did not seem to care. I on the other hand was leaving as a satisfied customer. Or so I thought. The next day I went to put on my sandals and the polish on my big toe, second toe, third tow all smudged. The lady that did my pedicure used my too much polish and put on too many coats. I called the salon about this and they did not care at all.
