Updating my review as I've had poor experiences the last few times I've gotten my dip nails done here. They've been breaking within a week every time and this most recent experience was the breaking point. Paid $60 for a set on 12/20 and by the morning of 12/22 a nail broke. I went in 12/23 to get it repaired and now 12/24 another nail broke. I called to ask for a partial refund and they said they don't do refunds and it was probably my fault the nail broke because this doesn't happen with other customers lol. I've been a loyal patron of the salon for a since the establishment opened. Emma has been absolutely spectacular and provides exceptional service. Today, I called to advise that I would be late for my gel manicure due to unforeseen circumstances. Upon my arrival at 9:10, I apologized for my tardiness, and of course, Emma said it was fine. As I checked out, I said, "Hello," but before i could get the last syllable of word out, Van interrupted me and angrily said,"Cash or card?" . I smiled and replied "card" , van rudely asked, "Credit Card!?!" I said,"Credit Card." While I was facilitating my transaction, Van started berating me, with her voice raised, in a demeaning and condescending manner, " When you make a Gel appointment, you have to come 15 minutes earlier so Emma want be late for next appointment or feel rushed, so next time you have to come early or she'll be late" Ok, so I'm perplexed, because other women have checked out before me and had their Gel removed, and she didn't give them the same command. I responded,"Perhaps, a better practice regarding Gel appointments, is you train your staff, to ask clients to arrive 15 mins early to have their Gel removed (please note, they open at 9 am, my appointment was at 9 am)." Again, I like Emma, and for the most part, they business has been very accommodating and convenient. So, as I proceed to make my future appointments. But, something about this exchange doesn't seem right, it seems all too familiarly painful. While working to the my car, it really hits me that there everyone in line heard this exchange as well as the folks receiving a services and I realize, Van didn't give any of the clients (all White) before me the same lecture, and understand that she was targeting me because I was a Black woman. This wasn't my first appointment, my first Gel manicure, or my first time here or my first interaction with Van. After sitting in particular with this uneasy feeling, pondering the events, and making excuses for Van's rude behavior, I drive off, deciding to let it go. But after a few minutes, I called the salon, Van answered, and I explained her behavior and treatment of me, as a client, was racist and discriminating, and I didn't appreciate her targeting me and speaking to me so rudely for no reason. Also, I asked her why she didn't give the other White clients the same lecture during their check-out. She did not have a response, and I tried explaining that's is why your behavior is racist and discriminatory. She said she would cancel all of my appointments, per my requests, and then hung up on the phone while I was speaking. This business is an anti-Black establishment and furthermore, I do NOT recommend the salon for services if you are a Black woman, person or person of color or anyone that stands on the right side of humanity. I am very saddened and appalled by my treatment, and it is a reminder that racism and bias is still rampant in 2023. read more

It really depends on who you get. I wish more people wrote recent reviews so I knew which technician to ask for! Definitely call and make an appointment. It's right off 93 aka, be prepared for rush hour traffic if you're going "after work." The nice woman at the front desk runs the show. She does all the appointments, whether she's at the front desk, organizing polishes on the racks or handing something to an employee while speaking on her cordless phone. The first time I went I got a gel set from a man. I brought an Essie polish and someone kindly helped me color match a gel by mixing 2 colors. Who knew?! The man was pretty quiet but nice enough and receptive to my asking him to tweak a few nails without being offended. On the other hand, today I had a woman who was straight up miserable from the moment she saw me. I came in to soak off my previous gels and get a regular mani. She was mostly silent, had nothing nice to say and didn't ask me how I wanted my nails shaped and just jumped right in. She asked if I wanted them cut and I said no and to just even them out. She was in the process prepping my cuticles and another customer walked by and suddenly she was nice and friendly. That woman dinged her toe and she left me there to go fix it. When she came back she had absolutely no idea where she left off and started trimming my cuticles half way though my hand. I gently asked her to do the other half. She went straight to my other hand and I had to gently ask her to push the cuticles back before trimming. After filing my nails she popped up to get a hot towel. When she was done I again had to ask her to even out my nails which she was less than thrilled with. I don't understand why so many people struggled to shape natural nails evenly. It was very mediocre. My edges are rough, there are random nail particles she didn't buff away before polishing and doubt I'll go 2-3 days without a chip. I think her name was Anne but I'm not positive because she didn't introduce herself or wear a name tag. read more

Truly one of the nicest dip manicures I've had in the last couple of years. Even, smooth, perfectly shaped nails, what more could I ask for?! Another pleasant surprise was that when I arrived on time for my appointment, I did not have to wait at all! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I would vote Milton Nails and Spa the best nail salon around the South Shore, or even around Boston for that matter. I live in Quincy, and the nail salon is just around the corner from me (Milton/Quincy Line) so it is extremely convenient. I have been coming here since it opened its doors for the first time a few years ago (not sure of exact date). One of the best experiences of this nail salon is the service(s) they offer, but also the friendliness of the front desk staff. When I walk into the salon, they know me by name and that is such an awesome feeling. I have never had that anywhere else I went! I would highly suggest driving to Milton Nails and Spa to check it out for yourself. Even if it means driving a little further than normal, I know it would be totally worth it! Oh, and one more thing, they do an incredibly great job on manicures, pedicures, and they also have spa services upstairs i.e. facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, massage, etc. I must say you have to call and make an appointment, their walk-ins are extremely limited in space. I had been going to Milton Spa and nails since they opened. Loved it there! David at the desk was so warm and kind every time I walked in knowing my name and asking if I needed anything, very professional..... until last week when I made a last minute appointment (not with my usual girls) to get a pedi. It was the WORST pedi I have ever had. Honestly I work in the service industry and when I tell you this may have been her first pedi ever. As I was in the middle of the pedi I asked one of the other workers if she had ever done a pedi before. She said " oh yes, she has done many of them, she just doesn't speak English so she didn't know you wanted you toenails cut". Ok whatever that means... pretty sure every pedi is supposed to start with cut toenails. So I continued to let her finish. No lie it took her 30 mins to just paint them!!! I was crawling out of my skin I had to go. I had been there for well over an hour. I asked if someone else could finish because I had to pick up my children from camp. Finally I was done!! As I checked out with David (because of our good relationship) I very discretely mentioned to him what had happened... suggesting that particular service provider stick with children before heading to adults (paying full price). I get that everyone has to start somewhere as I was once in those shoes. I was trying to help there business, (I have friends tell me stories of a couple girls in there cutting there cuticles so bad they bled and they weren't going back). I just feel as tho as an owner of a business you would want to k ow if customers were unhappy. Call me crazy!! As I went to pay, the owner came screaming over to me asking what I was talking to David about and I said that it was between David and I. "He can fill you in on my thoughts after" I said. She then continued... Im the owner u tell me.... u didn't like her from the beginning because she didn't SPEAK ENGLISH!! WHAT!!! I have never been so insulted in my life!! A friend was visiting me from out of town and wanted to get a pedicure. Although I love pedicures, I'm always nervous about going. Despite it being friggin 2018, I still feel self-conscious as a male getting them around an all female clientele. But when my friend and I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised when were escorted UPSTAIRS to a private pedicure room! Although I'm sure it's not a guarantee for every male client or duo, I really appreciated the accommodation. The service was great. I felt like I was walking on clouds when I left. I got a men's facial there once too, that was also awesome; I left feeling relaxed and looking 5 years younger. The staff are always friendly, helpful and informative. Bottom line: GO! So I feel compelled to write a review for others. First, you need to make an appointment as of June 2020. Second, they have raised their prices a lot in order to make up for lost money while being closed during the pandemic. Because of this, a 30 minute pedicure with regular polish cost $42. And that didn't include tip. They have a small sign at checkout explaining this but of course they don't bother to mention before hand. For this reason alone, I will not return until their prices go back to normal. I have been praising Milton Nails and Spa for a while now. I still love them so this is hard, but I am breaking up with them. After my last gel manicure began to peel off my nails, I found a (confirmed) fungal infection underneath my thumbnail. This is the first time something like this has ever happened to me. I usually have a gel manicure (no artificial nails which can be a risk factor). Other risk factors can include a nail injury or a skin injury around the nail. My nails at that point were weak and brittle which could potentially pre-dispose them to an infection. However, fungal infections can also spread through tools, such as emery boards and nail clippers if they're not sanitized. Also, as noted by another Yelp review there is a nail tech at this salon with a fungal infection on her nails. She is not who I usually see, but I saw her once or twice when my regular girl was off. At the time, I didn't know what I was looking at (discoloured and misshapen nails), but it is clear now. Obviously it is impossible to say where this infection came from, but I will let the facts speak for themselves. I cannot in good faith continue to recommend this salon. In addition I want to send a PSA on fungal infections. I didn't know and never thought it would happen to me. Fungal infections are notoriously difficult to treat and can come back even after treatment. Treatment for a fingernail is SIX WEEKS of medication. If you are going to get your nails done BRING YOUR OWN TOOLS to the salon, no matter where you go. I now wish I had. read more

This place opened in February of this year and I've been driving by it everyday. I finally decided to stop into the salon today and I'm glad I did! The place is nicely set-up and is immaculate. I'm very particular about cleanliness and this place is incredibly clean. The tools that they use come in sealed autoclave pouches so you know it's been properly sterilized. I had my pedicure with Van and she was fantastic. She very carefully cleaned up the cuticles/skin. The scrub/massage had a lot of pressure which was very relaxing. She also assisted me in choosing the right color and the polish turned out great. This salon may cost a few dollars more than surrounding locations, but you get what you pay for. I don't mind spending more for the detail and cleanliness. I also like the fact that they have a credit card swiping machine up front, so you can swipe your own card and sign on the screen. For some reason, I prefer this than giving someone my credit card (like in other salons). They also have a water and tea station. Five stars! I will be coming back here for sure! read more
