Went here for the first time and I really like the service. I got a gel manicure and Lyda did a great job. I'll definitely come back.

Back story: Lida and Navy have been running the nail shop here for years. I started going to them back in 2017, I have no idea why I never made a review for them before but better late than never! I've seen these hard working girls go through the effects of the pandemic while raising two beautiful children and running a nail shop at the same time. Up until 2017, I "nail-shop-hopped" around the south shore area - never finding a place i liked enough to come back to. Then I found sydney nails. I will never go to another nail shop until they shut down (which i hope never happens because i will be devastated.) Honestly, the service and quality here is unbeatable. The girls are genuine, friendly, and love their jobs (and take pride in it.) The shop is clean and promotes a relaxing environment. I see these reviews on the internet about their store not providing good service. I don't understand why some people are so nasty. If you go and get your nails done here and don't like it, don't leave the store. They can't control what happens when you leave the store. But if you don't like your nails or need it fixed before walking out, tell them. They 100% of the time will make it right if it is an instant fix. If you walk out of the store angry or upset and don't like what you were given, that's on you. Also, you chose the color - not them. Lida and Navy try their best to make it right so please be kind. Tips: 1) always call ahead so the girls can pencil you into their schedule. Walk ins are available but there is usually some kind of wait. 2) show up to your appointment 10-15 min early to pick your colors 3) they take cash and card but the card machine has a transaction fee on your card. They also take venmo. read more

Sydney Nails - I used to hate my nails... they've helped reshape my nail shape over the years and I'm starting to like my nails more! This is gel finish. - Nail Salons Near Me - Quincy, Massachusetts

Been coming here for over 20 years. I don't think I ever left the salon feeling unsatisfied. Nails shaping and filing on point, cuticle trim on point, polish, especially polishing, ON POINT. I am very picky when it comes to a good polishing job and Sydney Nails has never disappointed me. read more

Growing up, this was always the salon I would go to due to how close it was to me and was pretty inexpensive compared to others nearby. Whenever I would get my nails done, it was always a last minute thought to get them done so I would call and just hope there's availability. Since the last time I have come here, I have tried other places because I don't really come to this area anymore. The owners are really nice and do a good job with acrylic sets and pedicures... but for some reason, I have only really experienced polish chipping from here. And for the price, it is not much cheaper compared to other places nowadays. Also, not the place to go to if you want to try new trendy nail art you found on Pinterest. Parking: Parking can be found on the street right outside. It can be tough though but just circle around until a spot opens up. read more

I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure here. Lida is so sweet! She was attentive and worked really hard to get the design I wanted on my nails. I would certainly come back and would recommend. They accept credit cards (min. $10) and have Venmo for tipping if you don't have cash. Call ahead to schedule your appointment! They have walk-ins, but it was busy for me when I got there at around 5:30pm for my appointment. read more

I have never had such a poor experience. The lady doing my nails cut the skin around 4 of my nails to the point of bleeding when doing my cuticles. It was extremely painful. The color I asked for was pink, and these are clearly not, however I did not mind that. Then I saw one of my nails was completely crooked, and when asked to fix it 3 times, she did not. Lastly, she stopped in the middle of my appointment, right after I was bleeding profusely, and asked me to pay. So I did, and when paying in cash, the woman laid my change out on the table and before I could even touch it, she took the liberty of taking 5 dollars to tip herself without me saying anything. This is by far the most ridiculously awful nail appointment I've ever had and will not be returning. Oh, and the nails are absolutely trash! read more

Sydney Nails - Blood on my nails, crooked. Not the color I asked for either. - Nail Salons Near Me - Quincy, Massachusetts

A small and clean salon with 4 mani and 4 pedi stations. Came in around noon on Saturday and there was a small rush of people but I didn't wait more than 10 minutes to sit and start soaking my feet. My pedicure was very comfortable. The woman was meticulous and went back and cut my toe cuticles again before painting them and went back after with a brush and nail polish remover to clean the sides. I also got my gel removed for $5. I was just expecting them to take off the polish, but my nails were buffed, shaped and cuticle oiled after, which was a nice surprise. My total was $25 for both! Bargain for such good service and a relaxing and thorough pedi. Will def come back in the future to try other services. Saw that a gel mani here is $25 which is very reasonably priced for south shore! read more

I have to agree with Megan V.'s review below, "I read the reviews on Yelp, so I figured, great I'll try this place out. I didn't know where to go, and the the reviews on Yelp sounded outstanding. I had a very different experience." I too had the skin around my nail bleed when the manicurist went too quickly with a Emory board. She disinfected the cut when it started bleeding, but it still hurts today (one day later). When I walked in, the only staffer was giving a pedicure to someone. She stopped to wait on me and then shout down stairs for another employee to come help me. I felt bad that the client she was working on had her service interrupted that way. The manicurist I got seemed nice, but she talked to another employee in a foreign language most of the time she was working on me. I guess I'm spoiled from the salon I normally go to having staff who talk with you as they work on your nails. I was still thinking I'd come back to this store, despite getting cut, when the manicure was done, because it came out quite pretty. But, the dryers in the store totally stink. I stayed under them for 10 minutes, as was advised by a sign near by. That was 2 cycles under the dryer. I though my nails were dry but as I stood up my keys hit 2 nails and managed to chip both. I was on my lunch break, so I didn't have time to ask if I could have them fixed. The price is much lower than what I'm used to $10, but I will still be looking for a nail place that I can go to on a lunch break and get better service. read more

I just got my nails done TODAY at this salon. I asked for acrylics with gel polish on top. They looked fine, I went for a bolder color - yellow. I left feeling content (spent 73 and tipped 15), and then I realized when I got home that the nails were a little wide at the top. I called and they told me to come back in so I showed up 15 minutes later. She filed down the sides of my nails, and then told me I was all set to go. I wasn't sure if she was going to seal the nail again with top coat but she said bye to me after I washed my hands. So I thanked her and left. My nails started peeling five hours later. Kind of sucks considering I spent $88. read more

I love Sydney Nails. Lida does a great job. It's important to me that the dip manicure doesn't look too thick and she does a great job sanding it and buffing it down. I like how this is a smaller nail salon, it's quiet and peaceful. read more

I discovered this place about 2 years ago, and have only been coming here since for manicures and pedicures, but mainly pedicures. This place is a hit or miss regarding quality work. There is a male tech who works here that does a great job regarding pedicures and manicures. He takes his time, his massages are amazing, and you can tell he's invested in making your pedicure look great. He's not much of a talker, but neither am I, so he's perfect for me. There is an older female tech that I am sometimes stuck with having to use as she is the only one available at the time. I think she tries to do a good job, but the quality of work is lacking. Sometimes, she's okay, other times (like today) it looks like I did my own pedicure. The reason why I still come here is because I haven't found a salon that does better work without breaking the bank. Although, I think the price went up for pedicures, since my last time coming in, and considering that their work isn't stellar, it'll probably do me good to shop around for a new place. Overall, the techs here are nice and welcoming. The salon is generally clean. I never have had to wait more than 15-20 minutes when coming in without an appointment. There is a female tech working there that I notice most people go to see for acrylics, so maybe if you're into that, this salon, or rather, that specific tech, might be a good person to go see. But the reason I go out to get a mani/pedi is to get quality work done, and sadly the work here isn't quality. read more

So normally I don't post reviews at ALL, let alone a bad one but here it goes... I decided to try this place since my regular nail salon had been getting busy and pushing me off for appointments and when I do get appointments there- I end up waiting. A woman at my work said she loves this salon so I figured I'd give it a try. My first issue is there is only street parking, and in Quincy that's a bit of a pain. I got there early because this was something I anticipated, but I still was a little late for my appointment due to having to drive in circles for 10 minutes. Not their fault but just an FYI in case someone wants to go there. The salon is VERY small and all the employees were stumbling over each other to help clientele. I noticed some of the paint on the wall was chipped and honestly it was not as clean as I had anticipated-very old chairs, noticeable dirt being brought in, older rags- I should have left. The woman I got was a little bit older and didn't talk much to me- which was fine, but then when she did speak it was short and she interrupted me. Very rude. Every time she moved my hand it was tougher than it had to be (i promise I'm not being dramatic, she yanked until my entire arm moved multiple times) and she never used her brush to wipe off the excess dip. My literal breaking point is she was coughing through the entire hour I was there and did not cover her mouth MULTIPLE times, used her breath to BLOW ON MY HAND after she's been coughing the ENTIRE TIME, AND then at the end USED THE BACK OF HER HAND TO WIPE HER NOSE. I will never go here again and encourage you not to as well. So unsanitary. She only washed her tools with hot water as I was waiting for my nails to dry and I wish I left when I saw the place. Ugh. I got home and noticed most of my nails were crooked; I was too distracted by that woman to notice there. I got the dip nail polish and a snowflake design which did not turn out even I shouldn't have paid but I just wanted out of there. Will update if I get an infection. Update: My paint on my nail came off in one piece. Lovely. read more

They are all super nice! Very friendly! I just moved over in Quincy and they are my go two place! Love them!! I would recommend!

I came in for the first time for a pedicure, being in the area this weekend, and called ahead to make sure they had space. I had gel on my toes, so that had to soak off for about 10 minutes, which the nail tech actually said to me. That's completely fine. I sat thirty minutes (I kept track on my phone) while the tech did someone else's pedicure that walked in after I did. I understand a gel has to soak off, but there's no reason to do another persons full pedicure and leave me sitting there for a half hour with tin foil on my toes. I was there first. By the time I left my butt hurt from sitting in the chair so long. Overall the quality of the pedicure was very good, the salon was clean, and the techs were friendly. I was just upset with this one factor of guests pedicures being finished before mine had even started. Some people have other places to be. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! They are so nice and my nails are amazing! Best nail salon I have ever been to! The service could not be any better!

I've been looking for a good nail spot in MA, I'm Originally from Los Angeles and it's hard to find a spot out of LA that does great shaping on acrylics. I'm soooo glad I chose to come here today! I'm very picky because I don't like having a fake nail, only the perder ver my real nail with a coffin shape. I think the woman's name was Li, and she did exactly what I love! FRAUD NAIL TECHS!! Beware, these people are extremely unprofessional, the workers are rude and they do a terrible job, do not waste your money. I paid $75 for acrylics but my nails chipped off in less than a week, when I informed the owner she said I could go back and get them fixed but she became very rude and started insulting me in front of customers causing a scene to the point where I decided to remove the nails all together and be done with them. Do not get your nails done by this RACIST women, they are disgusting and do not deserve your MONEY!!! read more

I've been trying to find a nice affordable place to get my eyebrows done every month so I decided to try this place based on all the positive reviews on yelp. The salon is super small. Crowded and can only seat 3-4 people at a time who are waiting to be serviced. When I walked in, there were a bunch of women getting their nails done, talking about "happy endings"....awkward.... So after waiting for like 15 minutes (I didn't mind, had nothing else going on), I was finally asked to come out back have my brows cleaned up. The lady who worked with me was sweet and friendly and I had no issues with her. The issue arose when I started realizing how sketchy this place was. It looked like I was about to lay down on some DIY bed they made for clients. And there were a bunch of bed sheets hanging up everywhere as dividers. I'm not even sure if this place could pass a health inspection. I would be very surprised. Guess I'll be exploring other places in the area... read more

I finally found a very nice and decent nail salon close to Boston. I never found such great nail salon as this. I have been nail salon hopping for the past year or so trying to find a decent manicurist to do my nails. I came back from Sydney Nails a few hours ago. I walked out as a very satisfied customer. I am very picky with my nails.. After reviews on Yelp, I decided to give this place a try. I don't recommend people going during Sydney's rush hour because the bad reviews on yelp was based on their experience during the rush hour. I walked in around 10:30ish AM and Amanda greeted me. I believe there is only three pedicure chairs and three tables..yes, indeed very small. The music that they were playing were spa music, relaxing. I had a mani/pedi and eyebrow/lip wax done here... I love my eyebrow done by Amanda and nails done by Nina. the reason why I gave this five star was based on my wax experience, my awesome nails and the only fact that Sydney actually uses SECHE VITE top coat.. high quality. This is probably the only nail salon I've been to that is this inexpensive and uses Seche as top coat. big plus. I will be coming back! They do take their time if it is not busy but let's be honest..if it's busy of course, they will try to rush things a little to decrease the wait time for other customers.. I am definitely bringing my best friend and my sister here next! thanks again, Amanda and Nina! read more

I read the reviews on Yelp, so I figured, great I'll try this place out. I am from out of state and I didn't know where to go, and the the reviews on Yelp sounded outstanding. I had a very different experience. I went in to get a full set of french acrylic nails. I have an interview tomorrow so I wanted my nails to look nice, since I am a nail biter. I do not recommend going to Syndey Nails. They are the worst nails I have ever had done. They look dirty underneath. Being that I am a nail biter, there isn't dirt under my nails because they are too short. My nails have lines of dirt under them from the man doing them, the weird black stickers they put on my nails, and so forth. I am so disappointed. The cherry on top of the sundae would have to be that he BURNT my cuticle. He was sanding my nails down and he hit my cuticle. I was bleeding and he didn't even apologize. He tapped the blood with his fingers and kept going. Then he put an antiseptic in my wound and it burnt badly....although, I am glad he tried to clean it. Now I am left with crappy nails with a burn/scab mark on one of my cuticles. To make matters WORSE, he used the same nail file that touched my blood on the girl who had her nails done after me. That is seriously disgusting. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but do not go to Sydney Nails. read more

My four year old daughter and I come here and they sit her on my lap and give us both pedicures. They could not be more accommodating and every time I try to give them more money for her and they won't take it. I think they only charge $5 or less for her. The place is not serene or beautiful but they more than make up for it in their fantastic service. Also the mani/pedi lasts longer than usual and they are very thorough. Go here! read more

I should have done this last summer, but I was heading to a study abroad in England, then back up with classes when I returned so it slipped my mind until now. If you want a wax, ONLY see Amanda. After my last review, I had 2 full-leg & bikini waxes by other staff members that were TERRIBLE. I haven't walked into the place since last July because I was burned so badly that I still had marks in September--I didn't even let her do my bikini line because it was so painful. I also had to spend over an hour getting the wax off my legs. Amanda is the only person that never left burns or let the max go completely cold before pulling it off, or both. I don't know if I'll ever go back honestly. read more

Best nail salon I have been to in this area! They are clean, efficient and very kind. I have been here for both nail services and waxing and I highly recommend for both. I don't remember who did my nails the first time I went, but I had my eyebrows waxed by Amanda who did a great job and was very kind and did a really great job if keeping it as painless as possible! The only reason I am giving Sydney Nails 4 stars instead of 5 is because if it's busy, it is sometimes difficult to find a place to sit but if you call ahead and make an appointment they can get you in right away. The seating space is not really their fault, it's a small location and they always greet you and tell you where to sit or stand as soon as you walk in. read more

This place was not a typical nail salon that I've been to. I've been to many nail salons and all are just typical with the ugly board showing all the prices and just never felt cozy. Sydney Nails was a little different, my friend and I usually try new places, and that day it so happened we were deciding between Fancy Nails (across the street on Hancock). But Sydney caught our attention. The place looked nice and clean and the staff was friendly. They had some nice jazz/classical music on and they were chatting with us randomly. They were speaking a foreign language to each other occasionally (but com'on-- which nail salon nowadays don't?) -- so sorry Danielle D. It's pretty normal-- My manicure was great and pedicure was good-- though it did mess up after 30 mins of drying.. I forgot to bring my flip flops so I had to wear my sneakers but the girl ended up wrapping my feet with a sandwich bag? Anyways, it was a bit disappointed but the color was thick enough that it's not too noticeable. We'll be back though! read more
