Small mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant with a small menu and boba options. We went here on a Sunday for lunch and it was fairly solid. We had Uber credits so we used that to place an order, and given the fast casual nature of the place, they were okay with us dining in via takeout pickup. We got the beef meatball banh mi and pork banh mi, both of which had a nice crunch with okay amount of meat - there was not much beef meatballs - 6 small pieces for the whole banh mi, but the pork was delicious and of good quantity.. We also got the Vietnamese coffee that was fairly strong. There is a small amount of seating but it was not too busy so there is always space for dining in for the most part. Parking is easy - street parking.

saturday morning en route elsewhere but had a hankering for a beverage so ended up trying this place out right after they opening. cute, clean, tiny shop that was literally swarmed with neighborhood people within minutes! kids, older folks, couples, families. everyone was here and they were here for a variety of menu items. while we just stuck to bubble tea beverages, kids were clearly drawn to the cotton candy electric blue and pink colored ice cream, some people were order banh mi take out and the clear favorite among the littler kids were the origina pacman and video machines they ran to upon clearing the front door. this definitely seems like a spot that attracts neighborhood energy. our drinks were good and hit the spot. parking is definitely an issue (we parked at the bank across the street for the short time it took to order and wait for our drinks to be ready) and there's a couple of chairs outside if it's overcrowded indoors. all in all, a good stopover and fun to see a local place that's clearly family run thriving and appreciated!

Luu's Cafe is a cute hidden Wedgwood neighborhood cafe serving up boba, bubble waffles, and banh mi. They also have macarons but they are not baked in-house, but from Macadon, another local bakery. While cute, the offerings from this spot left me feeling disappointed. I ordered the rose milk tea with 25% sugar and no ice. It uses non-dairy creamer by default. However, the drink was really watery and did not have much flavor. The boba also had no flavor, as if it was not soaked in sugar. There is a single stall restroom that is pretty clean, and some cool arcade machines and tables to sit at. However, the 2 player option on pac man didn't work. Parking is limited to street parking in the residential neighborhood.

Luu's Cafe has an abundance of bubble tea flavors and other sweet sensations to offer. The Hokkaido Milk Tea is super fresh, they also have fruit-infused teas, and a selection of mouthwatering food, including ice cream waffle taco, macarons, and Bahn Mi. The best part is it has video games to play where one can add some extra fun to their day! With different gaming decor which makes the experience more fun. The staff was able to explain to us the details of different drinks- super helpful.

Solid neighborhood spot - we only tried the teas; no food this time. I would come back to sample the flavored bubble waffles (mmm matcha). There are two employees, one of whom seems like he's possibly the owner. The tea is all made to order, and it takes a bit longer than it would at one of the chains - worth the wait, though. It's very good and reasonably priced. That being said... it's no Yi Fang (I am a sucker for that fresh Passionfruit - the crunchy seeds, Mwahhh). Service is friendly, and the cafe itself is cute/quaint (kinda on the tiny side, but that makes it seem even cozier). Great place for a casual date or a meet-up with a friend.

Luu's Cafe is a hidden gem, a fantastic little hole-in-the-wall eatery that delivers precisely what you desire--nothing more, nothing less. I went in on a lazy Saturday to grab a Bahn mi and a couple of spring rolls. There was no line and the food came out quickly. The Bahn Mi had a nice crusty French baguette, generous filling of tender, succulent meat, fresh vegetables, and fragrant herbs that all came together harmoniously. The spring rolls were just as delightful! Refreshing and flavorful with veggies, shrimp, and a yummy peanut sauce to go with it. A great place for a speedy bite with a lot of flavor. Will definitely come back!

I just so happened to be in the neighborhood today when hunger struck me. As I was walking around, Luu's caught my eye; especially when I found out they have vegan friendly options. I ordered the vegan meatball báhn mì, which was made fresh and on the spot. It took about 5 minutes for my meal to be prepared. While I was doing that, I enjoyed formulating words on the felt boards they had hanging up on the wall. Such a cute idea and really adds to making the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. When I received my sandwich, it was warm and toasted to perfection. I originally was going to wait to eat until I ventured back to my hotel but I couldn't resist the freshness and dug in right away! The bread was both crunchy and fluffy, the cucumber and jalapeño were crunchy and refreshing, the pickled carrot/daikon added the perfect splash of acidity, and the vegan meatballs were DELIGHTFUL. Oh how I wish I had ordered two, it was DELICIOUS. I hit the jackpot today by finding the best vegan báhn mì spot in town! I highly recommend to any and all that are in the area. I can't wait to visit again to try their other vegan bites and drink options!

I happened to be in the neighbor on my way home when I saw Luu's Cafe. I ordered ahead and circled a few times trying to find parking. There is limited street parking and a huge Wells Fargo parking lot that was mostly empty around back, but I didn't want to risk it. I had to walk a bit which was okay with me. I knew from passing the storefront that there was a spirited gaggle of kids and parents outside the shop. Most were socializing (it was after school and spirits were high), and some were waiting for orders. I pressed on through the throng and stood in a shorter line than I expected. The inside of Luu's is small with limited seating. There is space enough for the line. However, the line moved slowly. I wish there was a line for pick-up orders only. I appreciated the signs about Luu's commitment to fresh boba, to the community, and to the people of the Ukraine. I love the small town, community vibe here. My food was ready when I got to the front to pay. Hightailed it out the door to battle traffic and eat my banh mi while heading home. It's been hard to find a shop that tops my favorite bbq pork banh mi in Boise. This one was unfortunately more bread than ingredients BUT the bread was delightfully flakey on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. Aside from the bread-to-ingredient ratio being a bit skewed, the sandwich was delicious and I liked the fact that they put two thin spears of jalapeño on the side. The bubble tea was very good. You know, after drinking so many artificially flavored bobas from various mixes, it's a little shocking to taste fresh boba from high quality ingredients. I want to return (hopefully on a day that isn't so busy) to try a few more flavors.

I saw ads for this place and was excited to try it out. We were very excited to see a bubble tea place that had bubble waffles and banh mi's so close to us! (And that wasn't in UDistrict). We came here around 2:15 pm on a Saturday afternoon. There was decent street parking as it's in the front of a neighborhood. When we came in, there was 2 tables already taken, with only a small amount of seating available. My husband and I decided on a original milk tea with boba, a strawberry green tea with lychee jelly, 2 plain bubble waffles (which isn't on the menu but they will do it for you!), and 2 banh mi's (1 bbq pork, 1 roast pork), and all to go. They didn't ask us for sugar levels like most other places, and we forgot about it. It would have been nice if they asked, but we'll just remember to tell them next time. They did warn us that it would be about 10 minutes, which was fine with us. They have cute things to entertain you with. There's a cute instagram border picture prop as well as a small arcade game in the corner. We got our drinks first. The strawberry green tea was good, a little artifically tasting. We loved my husband's original milk tea. It was very good. Strong enough tea taste and not watered down. It was perfect. The banh mi's and bubble waffles came out later in a bag to go. Yum! We drove home to eat it, as by then, there were 2 other larger groups there by then. The bubble waffles smelled AMAZING. We tried it in the car, but it was a tad bit dry and a little over done. Very close to being burnt in our opinion. It was still edible. I could see why they normally have ice cream on them, it would help with the dryness. We'll have to try that next time. The banh mi's were DELICIOUS. I really enjoyed the roast pork. Yum. They included the cripsy, salty top skin of the pork. It was so good. A little heavy on the mayo, but we both really enjoyed it. Overall, we liked Luu's a lot. We can't wait to come back to get more banh mi's. And try their honey toast as well as the bubble waffles with ice cream and toppings! Service was very nice as well.

My friend and I randomly saw a BOGO deal advertisement for Luu's Cafe. We're always craving some boba and dessert so we headed over here. LOCATION & PARKING // It's quite easy to miss if you don't know where you're going. It's on the hidden side of the street. It's pretty small and not that lit up with a neon sign so be aware. Street parking down the block was incredibly easy to find on a Sunday night. FOOD & DRINK // I got a boba drink and a small scoop of ice cream! They had a decent sized menu. I ordered the WATERMELON BLACK TEA (50% SWEET, LESS ICE) & COCONUT PINEAPPLE ICE CREAM. I was incredibly impressed with the WATERMELON BLACK TEA. You rarely see this flavor without it being "seasonal." It was refreshing and tasted just like watermelon. I would definitely get this again. As of the ice cream, if you've ever had Thrifty's ice cream before, this tastes exactly like that. It's the perfect blend of coconut with random little sweet chunks of pineapple. I don't see this flavor a lot so I'll be back to get some. SERVICE // Service is very standard here. They were nice to us while we thought through what to order and during our order. The thing about service in boba shops is your interaction with staff is too minimal for anything substantial. AMBIANCE // The decorations are really neutral here. Everything is white and clean so I can't complain too much. I wouldn't say this is a super Instagrammable place. While we were here for two hours, we were the only people here though. I'm not sure if it was because it was late on Sunday but I thought that was a little strange. Maybe it's not well-known yet? OVERALL // 4 stars It's small, quaint, and cute so I'm willing to come back to try their other desserts! I'm still thinking about the watermelon tea...

it was cool. My Taro milk tea lacked flavor :/ sucks bc i never have time to get boba and when i finally do, i cant taste it. I miss that Taro flavor. Plus, Im dairy free and i tried to inquire about the ingredients BUT there literally was only two people, one taking our order and the other preparing....drinks AND food. They said it was, but I still wasnt sure. They said the flavor powder was non dairy BUT i wanted to clarify...is the milk base also non dairy? They was too busy and didn't have time and I totally empathize. Its fuckin covid and the restaurant industry is struggling!! 5 stars for getting our orders out and THANK YOU, but improve your flavors. More flavor powder in your milk tea and more pate! Too much mayo in my banh mi. The macaroons are bomb. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a boba place around here, I feel like most of them are downtown or U District area. There's plenty of parking nearby. There's a Wells Fargo parking lot right next to Luu's Cafe, but if you're just going to be in and out it's probably fine to park there since it's empty anyway. Inside the cafe, it's pretty small and cozy. They offer so many options on their menu. I only came for boba, but I want to try their bubble waffles too! They had a very extensive menu for drinks with tons of flavors. They offer dozens of milk tea, fruit tea, slush, and smoothie flavors, and drip coffee as well. Personally, I felt the boba could be a little softer of a chew, but it wasn't bad. I would definitely come here again. The area is quiet and calm and is a nice place to go for some peace. read more

Staff is friendlier compared to Rain Cafe, no matter what day you go to Luu's. I also appreciate that they have stamp cards for every 9th boba you purchase you get the 10th free. Small thing but nice! Their vietnamese sandwiches are alright nothing particularly special. I do love their bubble waffle , and their French macarons so, yeah my update added 1 whole star! Found this spot on Yelp when looking for a treat for the kiddos when visiting Seattle. I am so glad we went because it was wonderful. Prices are great as well. They also sell macarons and boba teas! The ice cream and mix-in's are nothing fancy and as expected...but the bubble waffle cone...the whole reason I was reeled in...that was incredible. I would seriously go back there and get a ton of waffles by themselves because of how great they were. Adding the ice cream and mix-in's made it a very delicious treat! read more

I bought two good banh mi sandwiches today, one roasted pork and one chicken meatball. They were on what, to me, is right kind of bread: a white roll that's on the soft side, but with a crunchy crust. I'll be back for more banh mi, for sure. They have an extensive menu of smoothies and other drinks that aren't my thing. Also, they have macarons in lots of flavors and they have waffles in may flavors to have with ice cream and a vast array of toppings. The young woman at the counter wasn't masked, nor were any of the customers who came and went while I was there. read more

I have picked up food multiple times here since COVID-19. This place fills a niche in Wedgewood/both Seattle that you would otherwise have to go to the u district (or the international district) for. Better yet, it's way more affordable than u district places. The bubble waffles are delicious. We've also gotten bubble tea and fruit slush which were very solid. They do have bahn mi if you are in need of some protein: I would say they are very good and certainly better than many places in Seattle that charge a lot more. The folks who work in Luu's are nice as well. Definitely worth a visit and a great place to have in the neighborhood! read more

I had been meaning to try Luu's Cafe and glad I finally did! It is excellent. Friendly owners who had some great recommendations on what I should order. I got a BBQ Pork Bahn Mi and a Mango Iced Tea (with tapioca balls). Both exceeded expectations! The Bahn Mi was really fresh and the pork was delicious. I have lower expectations for Iced Tea in general, but I took one drink of this and went "wow". I'll be back! Great to have these folks in the neighborhood and it felt good to support a local small business during these interesting times. It was very well priced, too. read more

My mom and I ordered bubble tea takeout. I got a Taro Slushy with Boba, 100% sweetness, and my mom ordered a Honeydew Slushy with Boba, 50% sweetness. Both tasted like NOTHING. There was no flavor whatsoever; despite mine being 100% sweetness, it was barely sweet, and I could barely taste the taro. My mom's 50% sweetness did not differ from how sweet mine was, and like my taro, there was barely any honeydew flavor in her drink. I didn't bother to go back and ask for a remake/refund but I should have. It was disappointing. read more

Luu's Cafe is a great addition to the Wedgwood neighborhood. Our family has tried the macarons and loves them! They offer a great variety of bubble tea flavors and the "milk" can be nondairy creamer if you like. The cafe has several tables and is a very clean, simple space. A lot of families go there after school. It is a nice play to stop by on the weekend, too! Friendly service and delicious tea and smoothie flavors. read more

Any time we're in the area we make a point to stop by Luu's for a bubble tea. Big selection with great flavor. And if it's a good day, we'll grab a sandwich too. They have punch cards to for regular visitors- I'm one punch away from a free bubble tea - I'll be back! read more

So happy to have a boba/Vietnamese shop in Wedgwood. Quick, friendly and above all delicious. My favorite is the Hokkaido milk tea. Teas are not overly sweet, and boba have a good texture. They offer bahn mi, and lots of other desserts like honey toast, macarons and bubble waffles. There is street parking that is generally easy to park, and a bench out front if you want wait for your order out front. They will bring it out to you. They also have a punch card, and are constantly coming up with new things to make their shop fun and interesting. read more

I ordered a pork bahn-mi, a bobba milk tea, and a coconut toast bite. In decreasing order of yumminess ;) The bahn-mi was a solid classic. Would be a good go-to that hits the spot if you want a classic bahn-mi experience. The milk tea was basic. Middle of the road, nothing extraordinary, but good. Unfortunately, the toast bite was the low point for me. It's pretty much just toast and condensed milk with coconut shavings. For $5, it's quite disappointing. So, stick to the Bahn-mi and you'll be g2g :D read more

Overall, the food is brilliant. The Boba is tasty, with reasonable servings and ample toppings. It is a little pricy, but the taste is worth it. They also do Banh Mis, which are truly spectacular, as they are large, delicious, and come in a large variety of meats and tofu. read more

Their BBQ pork banh mi is so full of fresh veggies and delicious pork! I've never thought to describe a sandwich as "refreshing" but this one is. It's flavorful and fresh, on bread that's soft with a nice crisp crust. The bubble tea is outstanding and I appreciate that they offer different sweetness levels in addition to having *so* many flavors. Their original milk tea is a delicious classic, and the flavored teas taste true-to-flavor without being overpowering or artificial (for example, the rose milk tea tastes like tea & rose; not like perfume as I've sometimes run into elsewhere). The boba is perfectly soft and yummy! Such a cute little place with friendly service and yummy food and drinks. read more

I am somewhat late to the whole boba craze, but out of the boba I have had, this place is pretty spot on. I was really excited to try this place, especially being something different in my neighborhood. I ordered 2 milk teas and a bbq pork bahn mi. Not all for me, but everyone seemed to really enjoy what they got. The bbq pork bahn mi was a bit skimpy on the meat, but for $5.95, this was still within a good price range. The lavender milk tea that I got did NOT taste like lavender at all, which was kind of disappointing, but it did taste like a really good original milk tea. I really liked that this place defaulted to non-dairy milk bases too, considering that most boba shops are anything but non-dairy. The boba itself was a bit on the sweeter side, and so even though I got 0% sweetness, it was perfectly sweet. The boba was not too chewy or not too soft--perfect in my opinion! Overall, this place was a great and I'm really excited to come back and try some of their other drinks and food! read more

Great boba and macarons however I did buy a Bahn mi once with VERY spicy radishes. In fact is was more spicy than my dad's who had jalapeños on it. My guess is that the radishes just weren't good and I don't blame them. read more

Really good Banh Mi! I had the bbq pork and it was delicious. Tender pork. Fresh baguette. I also love that they pack the jalapeño on the side for spice adverse (that's not me, but I appreciated it!). Also huge list of macaron flavors! I tried Thai tea, lychee, passion fruit, ube, and strawberry and they were all delicious. Will definitely be back to try the boba and bubble waffle. read more

I ordered taro hot milk bubble tea and it was wonderfully balanced- not too sweet! Banh mi was tasty, but smaller than you get down in Little Saigon. I like that they're open until 9, we'll definitely be back read more

I want to like this place since getting a Bahn mi sandwich in NE Seattle is not the easiest thing to do. I also like supporting local start-ups. However, My BBQ Pork sandwich was not so good. The ingredients were all there, but the bun was stale, the meat cold and tough and the overall sandwich dry. I *may* try again...maybe for ice cream. read more

Since there's several cafes along this stretch of 35th NE, as point of reference, it's two doors south of Wedgwood Broiler. It shares a huge parking lot and adjacent to a Metro bus route. It had a nice autumn hue from the overhead lighting and interior decor. The local art for sale adorning the walls was a nice added touch. Upbeat, welcoming staff. It was full right at noon and brisk walk-in takeout traffic. Nice overhead music to chill, dine, and/or do laptop stuff. They offer the usual bev menu, as well as, breakfast & lunch items, soups, salads, modest pastry case (from Alki Bakery), merch, and coffee roasts from Zoka. The 16oz mocha was well crafted temp wise & good balance of espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate. I also opted for the roast beef panini without the horseradish. Generously filled with roast beef, havarti, mayo, and red onion on savory focaccia. It was provided with au jus and I selected potato salad versus chips. The au jus was not salty, so after dipping, I also sipped the hot broth. Very flavorful and filling. The other panini half I'll have to take home. Thanks to fellow Yelp Elite All Star, Will L for a compelling post. This was a pleasant detour for lunch.

It was delicious! Van Gogh is now on the list of local lunch spots to hit!

They used fresh, quality ingredients, but both sandwiches were kind of bland, and a lot smaller than we were expecting for $14 apiece. That's the only reason I dropped a star, but aside from that, they are 5 star all the way. So, we would not revisit the sandwiches, but hotdogs and cocktails HELL YES YES YES!! Anything involving the chili is also highly recommended. And although I didn't really go into detail about it, chicken tenders were good, too (there were more in there than what the photo shows) - crispy and well-seasoned, and more than what I was expecting.

Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Best Fresh Pasta…read more This review is based on the products-- we've been going to the farmer's market and always find ourselves visiting the La Pasta stand every time. The ladies at the stand are always very friendly and helpful in their suggestions (such as which type of sauce to pair with the pasta, or the flavor of the pasta or ravioli filling). Thus far, we've gotten the egg bucatini, the red pepper bucatini, the seasonal gnocchi, and the dreamy garlic spread. Generally, I'm not a big fan of fresh pasta, because many times, I feel it gets too mushy (or perhaps it is the quality of the pasta). La Pasta fresh pasta has never been mushy; it has that imperative al dente bite-- a clear sign of good quality pasta. The gnocchi is flavorful and pairs well with the dreamy garlic spread. Looking forward to trying the pumpkin ravioli later in the week. The price is comparable to the fresh pasta you would find at a specialty store, like Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market, or PCC Markets-- however, La Pasta's quality is far superior. La Pasta products are worth the price. We look forward to trying any new products, as well as upcoming seasonals. We also hope that they may have a brick and mortar store in the future on the Eastside for the farmer's market offseason.
