This place was the most horrible experience the last few times we've come here! Whoever is running this store is off their rocker. They're horrible and follow you around saying don't touch anything it was a stressful experience to go there and regrettful. I love their product but those workers are horrible. It's one that is worse than the others and she's been there a while so it's surprising. No one wants to spend money when being treated like that. Look. I love shopping at LUSH, but I will pay the shipping cost just to avoid this store. 2 different employees were rude to us. First issue was I picked up a gift box and bath bombs on a had fallen out within SECONDS and a worker came up and said "please don't open the boxes" very rudely. I can let that slide because I know working customer service isn't for the weak, but what really pissed me off was when my daughter (who is 4 mind you) was smelling a bath bomb and was going to grab it for me to buy, and a worker pretty much yelled at her to not touch it. Only bought something from here because my daughter really wanted her bath bomb. read more

This company is amazing. They truly care. They give back and they help communities that are in need. The products are incredible. Sustainable, made without harmful ingredients and they work beautifully. The packaging is recyclable and recycled. The staff are super helpful and so kind. For my 100th review in 2018 this is a solid business to give the distinction. I could go on and on about LUSH, but until recently I knew little other than my daughter adored their bath bombs and the products are pricy. When not crazy busy there is an educational component the staff conveys about their products. I have visited the store located in the Mac Arthur Mall just twice. It's a big deal that we have one locally. Purchases can be made online through their store and even Amazon. My guess is you will have no problem smelling your way to the centrally located store on the second floor. They recently expanded a bit from their ridiculous tiny site to a respectable small shop. In my opinion there are a few things to know about the company's philosophy and the way they make each product. This will bring you to a better understanding of LUSH Cosmetics values. Everything is hand crafted using fresh organics, vegetables, essential oils and safe synthetics. Machines do not touch the product, only the packaging which also has an element of handmade through package design. Ingredients are purchased from sources that do not commission the testing of animals. The products utilize vegetarian ingredients and there is always a date made and an individuals name/initials on the package. There are other items the clerk discussed but I can't recall everything. The service on both visits was warm, energetic and never pushy. The products sell themselves and the staff happily answer your questions and ring your purchases. The educational aspect is important. When busy this is a challenge. They have a line of cosmetics, but our only experience has been with bath bombs. My daughter's birthday is coming up and we already have plans to purchase items from the shop. This is not a store I would ever shop at for myself. However, LUSH has my respect and admiration as a Father of a 12 year old girl. read more

Came by because I was wanting some Rosy Cheeks and the store didn't have any. I haven't had the opportunity to even buy it as I really can only order online where we live, and it's not an option since it needs to be refrigerated. They really didn't have any of their refrigerated products either but I was told the "might" be getting more tomorrow. She wasn't sure, super helpful. Besides being greeted when I first entered, no employee came to see if I needed anything and I had to finally hunt one down. Thanks to my kiddo opening all the drawers, I found the empty fridge myself after some time. It really could have saved me some time if someone cared about the confused look on my face, or just generally asked if needed anything. Besides wasting a drive out to MacArthur to be ignored by employees, I'm not sure I want to come back to this location. Sure we don't have one remotely close to our home in Georgia, maybe it's a sign I don't need the product anyways. read more

I'm not a fan of chains, but there's something LUSH Cosmetics brings that's special. Whether it's the glitter or the glamor in their products, or the great customer service, the free samples, or the vegan friendliness - I'm not sure. But they get it right: every. time. I was helped out by quite a few great employees on my recent visit, and when I purchased a few items, I was asked if I wanted any samples. I had my eye on two things in particular, so I took the coffee exfoliator and a cleanser and will definitely be ordering them on my next trip if not online! I never leave with a negative vibe from LUSH. Not in San Diego, not in Jacksonville, and not here in Norfolk. Nikki was super helpful the moment I walked in. She was super knowledgable and LET ME KNOW she was. Nothing more amazing than an honest customer service rep noticing what you're looking at. I let her know I have oily skin (yay for being Filipino) and she immediately showed me some products. We started off with Dark Angels and Herbalism, but she said that even though Dark Angels is one of the best sellers, she recommended Herbalism (she did say it was a case-by-case basis though, which is understandable). I decided to take her word for it and got Herbalism and also the Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask. As I was checking out, she offered me a sample of Vanishing Cream as well. I just used Herbalism and the Vanishing Face Cream and I must say I love the way my face is feeling right now. I haven't really used an exfoliant before and this one was awesome (Nikki informed me that there are crushed up almonds in the mix, which is super cool). I'm in love with all their products and hope to try out more! Especially the henna hair dye in black to give my dull hair color a bit more umph. And also to buy some Tea Tree Toner because that stuff is the business. read more

You can almost smell the bath bombs and soaps from the parking garage. P-EFFING-U! Anyway, why the five stars you might ask? Because they have BOOBY CREAM! For a mere $25.95 your lady will get an "uplifting floral breast cream for a nice firm pair!" (check out the photo if you don't believe me) Its even called "Lovely Jubblies." I didn't end up buying her any because however you present it as a gift, no matter how nicely, you are going to get your nose broken. No thanks. My partner and I roamed into this location while walking thru the MacArthur Center just to take a look. Got inside and was warmly greeted by Eternity and helped by both her and Joshua during our initial visit. I sampled a few products and purchased two shower bombs. I was very impressed that the staff gave samples of products I liked yet was hesitant about purchasing. The avocado co-wash and queen bee moisturizer both did really well in my hair, so glad for the samples!!!!! We do not live near a LUSH so after sampling some of the products, we stopped back in to do some shopping a few days later before getting on the road. Special thanks to Amanda, Reed, Tori and Haley for making this visit personalized and memorable. I am soooo happy to now know about LUSH, it's company's values and how great their cosmetics are. This store may look small but they use their space very well, they have so many different and unique products it is unreal. They have cut to size soap, which smells amazing, I was recommended outback mate by one of the employees and I absolutely love it! It makes my hands and bathroom smell like heaven. They have lots of bath bombs, bar shampoo and conditioner and even toothy tabs (solid tooth paste.) When we checked out the employee (who had great hair by the way, blonde and black. I love that lush lets you have different colored hair) she offered us a couple to take home for a sample, so glad she did because I'm going back to buy a couple packs for regular use. read more

Had the most awesome experience here today. This particular location has hands down the best customer service I have encountered in retail and i hate shopping. All the employees were engaged, eager to help show you around and let you ask questions. I was helped with trying out different products and one of the girls..(omg i forgot her name..blonde hair, red lipstick, black eyeliner) washed my hand for me and even dried it. Um..can you say..YES GIRL!! I really hope they train all staff this way. This level of customer service is the only reason i would keep coming back. Yes, this is one of the smaller LUSH stores I've been to and doubt it'll ever get bigger than what is it now (even the ones in DC are tiny with the exception of one location). However, it's packed to the gills with product. Like all LUSH stores, you can smell it before you see it. The staff was there, neither super helpful nor terribly welcoming when we visited during the winter after they opened. I love LUSH products but don't think I'll go out of my way over there based on the experience we had. If we're there, I'll pop in and see if their staff has gotten better. I hope they do well in MacArthur. I remember when Sephora bit the dust over there eons ago before taking an extended break and resurfacing in Lynnhaven. read more

I am happy to say that we finally have our very own LUSH here in Hampton Roads. I have always been like a kid in a candy store when I stumble upon a LUSH store when I am in big cities and I first found it in London, as it is a UK based company. Bath bombs, makeup, exfoliating Shea butter bars, hand-made soaps galore! This is surely to be a hit at MacArthur Mall. So, why only 4 stars? This has to be the tiniest LUSH store In America; it is literally the size of a closet. The store has to be bigger for everyone new to LUSH to get in there and sample everything. Sampling is always half the fun of being in the store. The last time I went to the one in Orlando, they offered to give me a hot foot bath using the ocean salt scrub, Shea butter bar, and my new favorite treat, the Wiccy Magic Muscle spice massage bar made with these kneading Aduki beans, peppermint, and cinnamon -- I swear, it warms you as you massage it in-- I just love it. We are so lucky to have a LUSH store. Go check it out! If business is good, I am sure they will give us a bigger store soon :-) read more

As for me, all of the smells were running together, and although they smelled great, it was a tad bit overpowering. This store could also stand to be expanded...kinda right in there! Anyways, my daughter got her 1st bath bomb and i promise...she has become addicted already :-/ She also got a moisturizer bar. We both got lip scrubs, which tastes yummy!! First time I tried Lush was in Vegas and bought a bath bomb (big blue) and melt (floating island). One of the most relaxing baths I've had and I loved the smell. I also bought the Wiccy Magic massage bar for my husband. He really enjoys getting massages with it. Recently went to this location and got an Each Peach massage bar and Sexy Peel soap bar. Pleased with the peach bar but haven't tried Sexy Peel yet. I have it by my linens to keep them smelling fresh until I've used up my current shower gel. The employees at both locations were great. They seemed eager to help us and show my husband and I different items we might be interested in, and help answer any questions. My reason for giving this location 4 stars is because of the size. It's so small, there is barely any room to move around! Other than that I love it! read more

I did not know the Hampton Roads got its own LUSH store until today, nearly a year later!!! They need to get this out more often for other people who may still have no clue too. I was a bit disappointed that it is very tiny store, but I can understand that they are probably testing out how well the business get in the Hampton Roads... Hopefully one day they will expand! For the products, all I can say, the best natural stuff. The smell is very good that I could smell from the parking garage. I feel sorry that the smell is beating the poor tea shop next door. haha. This store has been here 3+ years and I have just now learned of its existence. I was wandering around, exploring. And this brightly lit store with beautiful displayed products caught my eye. It is so pretty I say this girl have her mother take a picture of her in front of the window. Every product is handmade in Canada. Every product has a sticker telling you who packaged the product and what the expiration date is. Many of the products are very affordable. Some are very expensive-to me. Several of the items are sold by ounce. The products are all natural and healthy with several beauty/cosmetic benefits. The associate was extremely helpful. She was able to answer all of my questions. She even tested one of the face washes on my hand. She massaged it in while she told me all of the ingredients and benefits. After she washed it off I asked if I could take a picture of the product so that I could remember it for when I came back. She said "I can do better, I'll get you a sample" and I think it was quite an ample sample. I have too many products right now, but I do plan to come back one day. read more

I'm fairly new to the LUSH lifestyle so I always still have so many questions when I go in. I've been to three different locations in a one month span and this last visit was the best I've had. I recently came back from Miami, FL and my face hasn't been rocking with me since so I decided to try my luck and come in for skin care and all my skin concerns. Lauren was an absolute dream. I literally told her what was going on with my skin and she instantly knew various products that I would benefit from. I purchased multiple items and still walked out with several samples and even a booklet where she listed my specialized skin care plan that we came up with in the store. I even got some stuff I never intended to grab but am sooo happy that I did(like this ultrabland cleansing cream...ugh so great). So thanks Lauren :) ...you did that girl. I absolutely love Lush! I'm very happy they moved to a bigger store, because I always felt claustrophobic in the previous small store they had. Every time I go, they are always helpful and accommodating. I went the other day to look at their face masks and other face products. I wasn't sure which was right for my skin, but before I could turn around and ask for help, someone already popped up to help me. She even gave me a sample to try out. I walked around the store for awhile and everywhere I turned, there was an employee asking me if I needed help finding anything. At first it was nice, but by the time I left, I think every employee talked to me (which was a little overwhelming). Overall though, i felt welcomed and their skin care products and bath bombs are amazing! Plus I love that they recycle containers and don't test on animals. So I learned during my first visit that I should not try to eat the soaps...or the bubble bars or the bath bombs BUT they do have two types of massage bars that are made out of chocolate that are edible! Win! Yeah I understand everything is au naturale and good for you skin and body but the scent coming from the store is what initially drew me in. It smells like a candy shop. The staff is so helpful and are very knowledgeable about all the products they carry. I also like that they have tried EVERYTHING in the store themselves. I really like this stuff and have discovered some new staples for my beauty arsenal like the Ocean Salt scrub, the Vanishing Cream, and the Honey I Washed the Kids soap!
