Looking to get your hair done at beauty store nearby shopping center this is the place for you. I definitely enjoy my experience here each and every time that I come in the stylist that does my hair. Her name is Morgan and she is phenomenal with a silk press and curls definitely would recommend if you ever want to get your hair done and glam up or need a updo for future style she's the one for you. My very first appointment was very smooth and very good. I got pin curls with my silk press in each time that I have got service with her. It's always last in a significant time. And my hair stays consistent of how it started and that's most important for me when it comes to my hair texture. And she was very knowledgeable with giving me tips in regards of keeping my style in as well as maintaining it and I love that as well. The salon is located in the back end of the store blending in with the other sections nearby in its on area. They do offer other services I saw including touch ups for any one who is looking for a quick touch that was $35 dollars and silk press is $91 plus tax definitely worth the price and the results are amazing. This location is generally centered around all the major hotels such as Marriott and Extended Stay in. This location wasn't that packed but still stocked with all the beauty and makeup products. I was able to find the items I needed fairly quickly. Checking out ended up being longer than expected on account of they had one register open. This review is for shopping in this Ulta over a year into the pandemic. Staff & customers wears are required to wear masks. There is hand sanitizer available for customers. There are arrows on the floor throughout the store to assist with social distancing. They do not limit the amount of people in the store. There was no real way to social distance if you needed a product in the same aisle as someone else. Testers are no longer available for any makeup products. If you are someone who likes to see how an eyeshadow or lip color looks on you or if you are someone who likes the Mac department to shade test you for a new foundation, you are out of luck. Your only options are to purchase your products and return them if you don't like them. The store is fully stocked with virtually everything beauty! They have travel sizes items of various products near the check out line. They still offer you shopping bags to shop and still have Ulta deals and coupons or sales going on. They still offer online gift cards as well. You can still earn Ulta points if you are a member. Becoming a member is easy, just sign up for free and earn points every time you shop and get a free birthday gift during your birthday month! Hairstylist Brianna does an excellent job. My granddaughter and I gave both been going to her and have been very happy. My granddaughter had green and other colors in her hair that someone else had messed it up and Brianna was able to fix it and my granddaughter loves her hair. 01/23/2024 around 11:45am *Only reason I am leaving 2 stars is because of the sweet employee behind the cash wrap* Today (January 23rd, 2024) when I arrived to pick up my order I was promptly greeted very sweetly by the woman behind the cash wrap. She instructed me that she was not in charge of pick ups but that she would notify the right person that I was there to pick up my items as well as where I was in the store (I still wanted to look around a little while I waited). I could overhear the woman I had initially spoken with tell the woman in charge of pick ups where I was (in the aisle right in front of the cash wrap) so I tried to quickly decide if I was going to purchase the item I was looking at before the pick up woman got to me. What I was not prepared for was the sheer attitude and dismissive behavior I was met with in the aisle by this employee. I have never felt like such a bother to someone in my 25 years of life. I always strive to show and take pride in the level of respect, appreciation, and patience I have for individuals in the customer service industry as I know from personal experience how taxing it can be at times. That being said, this woman on pick up orders made me feel (in the 1 minute of total interaction I had with her) like I was unwelcomed, unworthy, and a nuisance in the store - like she couldn't get away from me fast enough. I hope I am the only person she makes feel this way today because I would hate for others to feel the same way I did after coming in contact with her. On the other, more positive note - whoever the woman is that was assigned to the cash wrap could not have been any sweeter, welcoming, and helpful. Anytime she was in front of a customer she was smiling and engaging. I did not see a single person leave an interaction with her without at least a grin. She honestly helped me get a little of my excitement back about the few products I picked up as well as the additional item I purchased while in store (which I wouldn't have done had the other woman been assigned the cash wrap just to avoid her). So if this really does get seen by the manager at the store I picked up at, please thank her for being a spectacular buffer to the grumpiest person I've ever seen work around such fun and creative products. read more

Girl!!! I'm a sephora girl I never come to Ulta unless I really really need to. For the past 3 weeks I've been trying to obtain swatches for the new Morphe fluidity foundation that this Ulta lists on the website as currently in this store which is far from the truth honey! Every single week I call inquiring when it will be in and every single week a rude employee that answers the phone tells me to call back next week. So this last time, I just went in since I was in the area and of course was told to come back next week. Since I decided I wasnt coming back I walk around and discover this ulta carrys tarte shape tapes. Perfect, since I'm running low. I purchase one with my credit card and head out the door. 15 mins after leaving the store still in my car, I get a phone call from my credit card company asking me if I authorized a purchase for $235.00 at Ulta! Of course I said no! and my credit card was immediately shut down. Everytime I come into this location I'm treated rather odd. The staff acts as if they have something better to be doing rather than listening to my question of where something is, or if they have it in store. I've asked about multiple products and they look at me in confusion, "do you guys have vitaminsea.beauty in store, I saw it new online, but I'm not sure if you guys have it in store yet?" I am so disappointed with Ulta in Chesapeake. I had a hair appt with Morgan. I received a text to confirm. Then I received another text for a different time. I called and Morgan wasn't in but the girl told me my appt looks like it was crossed out. She said she would find out and call me back. Well no call back. I then called again the next day and spoke to Morgan. She said she crossed me out because she had plans with her child. She then rescheduled me for the next day at noon. I did not receive a text so I called and Morgan wasn't in again. They checked on my appt and it wasn't even written or put in the computer. So Morgan didn't even make the appt. I then spoke to Isabella who was very helpful. She tried to get me in before Mother's Day which is why I was getting my hair done. She could not fit me in so she gave me an appt for the Monday after Mother's Day. I mean at this point...Isabella spoke with the manager Haley, who was "in a meeting" and that she will call me back. Well 4days later no call.... I will never go back to Ulta again. I am truly disappointed in this store. I have been a customer, along with my adult daughters for years. You have lost 3 customers. If you been to one Ulta then you been to all...same set up/layout. You can find plenty of beauty, hair, makeup, tools for your needs. They also have a hair salon and eyebrow arch service too. Coming here is like a candy store for me. At this particular time it's their grand opening but it wasn't as staffed as I would think because my sister and I was looking for assistance, couldn't find no one in site to help us. We actually left not getting one of the purpose of going here met. The prices on the products can be a little more expensive than online, so you have to watch the prices on that, unless it's on sale. But then again they have products that are hard to get anywhere else in the store. I love ulta!! They're much more affordable than Sephora and they have a free rewards program that has awesome benefits. I enjoy the reward program solely because you can redeem your points and take money off of your purchase. They sell drugstore and luxury makeup brands, hair products, perfume, and also offer eyebrow and hair services. They also just got a MAC display and it takes up a good portion of the front end of the store. In addition to their rewards program, they also have a ton of sales going on. Every month is usually filled with sales based on the day and many drugstore makeup brands are buy one, get one half off or free! The employees are pretty helpful and more than happy to show you various options for both affordable and luxury brands. If you come into ulta, make sure you definitely sign up for the reward program! I feel bad for even having to write this but I physically called the store and asked if their MAC counter was taking appointments and the lady on the phone said yes but you'll need to do it online... so I did and when I arrived I was told my appointment was at the ulta salon... I was like okay whatever... then i had to wait 30 minutes my appointment was at 12:30pm and I booked a 60 minute appointment and was done by 1:30pm. My makeup was rushed and it is now 5pm and my fake eyelashes are already coming off... the staff was nice but paying 70 bucks for a service plus leaving a tip was just disappointing... I am not a make up expert at all but I've never left a MAC artist feeling disappointed so please make sure the staff isn't telling clients that a Mac artist will be doing their make up... read more

This location is definitely not my favorite. Back when I heard an ulta was opening up near my house I was excited; I was tired of having to make the drive to town center to get my makeup fix. I'm not usually one to do this, but I feel the need i have to. I've just recently moved to the area and this is my first time shopping in the store. I understand with it being after Christmas time it's extremely busy and the cashiers have a lot of people to check out. I came up to a young lady, ready to check out. I gave her my phone number, and she scanned up all of my stuff. The whole time I was checking out she was extremely rude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I understand with her being busy it can bring a lot of stress, however, being rude to a customer isn't going to help the rest of your day. after scanning all of my stuff she said that I had rewards points, however, since it was under one of my family members names I was not allowed to use the points. She stated that they would have to be here in person to be able to use the points. However, none of them live here, so how can I have them here to use my points? she wouldn't help to change the name on the account so i could get my points off that expire soon. I was extremely underwhelmed with my experience, and I've never had a bad experience shopping at an Ulta until today. I work in customer service so I understand the stress however would never treat a customer the way I was treated today. As well, I got no help while being out looking for different things on the sale floor. I get that staffing has been hard for everywhere, but just being kind to the people in your store isn't so hard. I've never gotten worse service at a salon than here. The store is fine, just the salon. The staff gossips the whole time about other staff members and are completely unprofessional. They made me feel unwelcome and also seemed to ALL be confused as to how they could take my hair from dark to light. I know I'm not the only person who has ever asked for this? I understand it's a process, but there is no reason for my hair to look bad during it. I'm not very outspoken so I said nothing about my hair but it was HORRIBLE. I should've gotten my money back. The top of my hair was orange and the bottom was black. I went to a new salon to get it fixed recently and it was amazing, they were able to fix it the first time and my hair still feels healthy, something ulta said they wouldn't be able to do/wasn't possible. Now I'm lightening my hair with that new salon, except it actually looks good during the process. The picture shows how my hair was colored at ulta. (Hair is crazy because I brushed my curls out before getting it done at new salon). Besides the hair, I've also gotten my eyebrows done here before and I asked for them to be filled in VERY light and natural because I don't like dark and blocky looking eyebrows, and I got exactly that. While shopping MAC, it was recommended that I purchase ULTA brand products as I could receive a free gift. The salesperson stated that I qualified. After I went to the counter and headed home I realized my free gift was not in my bag. So, I called the store. A lovely man explained that he was sorry that happened and the next time I came in just ask for it. A week later (in the area) I did stop in. The store manager explained that I was 90 cents short of getting the free gift. And instead of suggesting I make another purchase and her give it to me...she told me I could go home, get the items, return them and re-purchase with another item to qualify. I worked for a prestigious cosmetics company for many years. I understand AUS. However, we would have NEVER done that to a client. I did go home and get the items and I did return them. My order placed online was correct and the customer service I CALLED to assist with my situation was very helpful. What will keep me from returning to this particular store is the in-person staff that who was very inflexible and unhelpful. My husband and I traveled over 30 minutes to pick up the order and I had forgotten my ID. The associate was quick to tell us there was no way I could pick up the order despite me having the confirmation email, pieces of mail with my name on it, other identifying documents, etc. I was disappointed it wasn't even recommended that I add the person who I was with as an alternate pick up person- I had to figure that out myself!
