If you know me, truly know me, then you know that I'm a lifelong (since '95 when they started) Lush girl. I absolutely hate going out to The Domain and prefer this city location which is much closer to where I live. It's a small space packed with ALL things Lush. Not overpacked or cramped at all. Service is always exceptional. They're never out of my regular items and that makes me happy. Lush is donating 75% of all watermelon bubble bar sales to medical services in Gaza. #freepalestine read more

Been going to this location since 2012. But now all non self preserving face moisturizers are only sold online and you didn't let long time customers know. I'm good on lush now. Time to move on to better products. read more

Love this place! The employees are SO nice and helpful! I always find a new seasonal smell I adore and when they sell out of it, they always have a similar suggestion! Always a pleasure! Smells so amazing in there too! read more

Ryan and Li were phenomenal!! Ryan was so kind and was so well informed on every product. I told him previous products I've purchased and a scent profile I liked and he was so kind and gave me so many wonderful recommendations. They also informed me about the lush rewards system on the app, as a lush customer from New York I had no idea about it!! 100/10 could not recommend the Austin lush and specifically ryan and li more! read more

I LOVE Lush and have been a big fan of the soaps, bath bombs, and shampoos for years - even the skin care is great with body moisturizers, face moisturizers, and face masks! I think the only thing they offer that I've never really purchased is their fragrance line, as I tend to prefer products that have a function beyond smelling good. I usually stock up on bath bombs a few times a year and have found their soaps to be great for my sensitive skin. The only area I've really struggled with in their products is the conditioners, which never seem to be hydrating enough while also giving volume to my fine hair type. After almost finishing up and just really not loving my last conditioner, Candy Rain, for the overwhelmingly sweet scent of tonka bean, I decided to pop in and see if there was anything else that might work. The employee was so helpful in discussing my hair type and asking questions to determine what I was looking for in a conditioner + my hair type, concerns, and needs. After a good chat, she helped me identify a few different options I could explore with a scalp treatment and four different types of conditioners. After feeling the options on my skin, discussing the benefits, and giving them a good smell, I was able to narrow down to three options but still not entirely sure which one would work best. I ended up going home with samples of the three products I was considering, a new shampoo bar (these things are the BEST!!!), and a solid perfume in my favorite scent, Ro's Argan Oil, that can be used on the ends of my strands for hydration, shine, and long lasting scent. I am so thankful that the employee (I believe her name was Gabby, but my memory is terrible and my receipt didn't say, so I could be wrong!) took the time to chat with me and help me narrow down my options, and I appreciate the opportunity to give these samples a chance so I can find a product that works for me! I bought Candy Rain at the recommendation of an employee WITHOUT trying it and regretted it from the moment I used it, so having a sample of these products before I buy is so nice! Lush is my favorite bath products store and I really can't recommend them enough. If your self-care involves smelling good and feeling good, definitely check out Lush. The products aren't cheap, but they are genuinely worth every penny, last a long time, are sustainable, and they have something for everyone. And if you like to travel light, the solid shampoo doesn't count as a liquid in your carry-on! read more

I love going to this location-- parking is a little difficult, but it's quieter and feels more relaxing. In addition, the people that work here have always been super nice, helpful when you need it but not pushy If you happen to be in the downtown area, I'd highly recommend stopping by read more

Coki and Li were amazing! We came on a Saturday and it was so busy and they made sure to greet every employee and offer assistance!

I love Lush and I love this location. It's smaller so you can get in and out easily. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. They have a wide selection of bath bombs, hair care, lotions, cocoa butter bars, etc. Some of my favorites are the avobath bath bomb and the Tea Tree Water toner. There are a few parking places on the street, but there is also a lot on the west side of the building. You can also go online and order for store pickup. read more

This is my favorite location of Lush for picking up my essential Lush products including Big shampoo, Veganese conditioner, Sleepytime lotion, and Sandstone bar soap. Although the Domain location is much closer to me, I love how convenient the 6th Street location is to get in and out of quickly. There is a small parking lot they share at which I have always been lucky to snag a spot and knowing exactly what I want I am always able to dash in and out. The staff is very warm and welcoming. They are always eager to help and have great input when I am seeking something new but also respectful and good about leaving me to do my own thing when I just want to browse or grab something and get out quickly. I appreciate that they accept their containers back for recycling. For years they have offered a face mask in exchange for five containers to recycle but not being one for face masks I appreciate that they now give you a choice between a mask and a bar of soap. In addition to loving their products I love their values including their stance against animal testing and social media. read more

I love Lush, but this site is not ideal. The parking keeps me from coming here more often. Also, the store is small and on occasion they have been out of something I was looking for. I bought my usual fresh farmacy on my last visit, and I don't know if it was a bum batch or if I did something wrong, but it's way too soft and crumbly. I've bought this several times before and never had this problem. It still does the job, but it just doesn't stay in one piece. Other than that, staff is friendly, knowledgeable, cheerful, and really helpful! I wish I got the gal's name, but she turned me on to the big conditioner and it's amazing! It leaves my hair big, soft, and smelling divine. If only it was a little cheaper. I got a $20 block and it gave me four applications. Just four. Sadness. I already need more. Yay Lush! read more

I love Lush and always try to order online to stay within my budget. Without fail, as soon as I enter this store it's like I'm in another world. Everything is so colorful, fun, and smells amazing. The people who work here seem like they actually enjoy their jobs and want to help! I've had the pleasure of working with Charlotte, the store manager, and she is absolutely amazing. She encouraged me to exchange some items I was hesitant about because I didn't want to be wasteful which felt like a huge burden was lifted off of my shoulders. The store is smaller but I think that's part of it's charm. They still carry every product Lush sells (well, most of them) and the store is organized really well so that you can find haircare, skincare, body products, face masks, and bath bombs/bubble bars with ease. I've been in way too much recently with Valentines Day, Easter, and Mothers Day but their exclusives are just too good to miss! Lush Cosmetics - Lots of goodies today !!! - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Austin, Texas

I first discovered Lush as a college student in California back in the year 2000. It was their famous Big Shampoo that drew me to them. They had recently started expanding into the US but most commonly sold their products via mail and the new phenomenon called the internet. Big Shampoo cost around $15 back then which was not cheap (thanks to inflation killing the value of the dollar amongst other factors that same shampoo a decade later now runs $21) but it is SO worth it. If you want the best shampoo on the market to clean your hair and make it shine like the top of the Chrysler building get the Big Shampoo. It not made to be used daily (prob about once a week or so) so even with the $21 price tag it will last. Let's talk about quality. Lush is famous for making their shampoos, soaps and lotions without animal fat (their products are vegetarian and in some cases even vegan), with minimal packaging and little waste (all recyclable of course) with the biggest thing being no animal testing. Sensitive skin and color treated hair are a perfect fit for Lush products. Your products will be stamped with a date it was made and with the name of the person who made it. What you need besides the Big Shampoo are their bath bombs. I have no idea what the reviewer who said the bath bombs cost $9 was talking about. Most of the bath bombs are $4-$6 each and are HUGE, filled with chunks of lotion and in some cases glitter. Beware that if you use any of the soaps with glitter it will look like you gave a dozen strippers a bath in your tub which is a bit frustrating to clean up. The hot bath bomb right now is their Twilight made with tonka and lavender oil. It is bright purple and oh-so-pretty swirling it's magical colors in your tub, changing from pink to dark blue before your eyes! Don't forget the famous foam that Lush's bath bombs also create as they dissolve. Unlike the glitter the colors of the bath bombs are not difficult to wash out of your basin. They even have a bath bomb now that is made with pop rocks that pops and fizzles. These babies are truly an experience worth a few bucks! Men, if you want to buy your special lady something fun come into Lush. The Austin store has special events like free facials and other fun stuff (sleepovers???) so be sure to "follow" them and step into the store to discover tons more cool items not mentioned. The staff at the Austin store are some of the nicest I have ever met. I heart Lush! read more

My college roommate worked for Lush, My best friend adores and raves about Lush, I now work two blocks from Lush. I've been a frequent flyer to Snap Kitchen and I've reminded myself Lush was on my to-do list, though I KNEW I was going to spend too much there. And that's exactly what I did this week. I snuck in after work one day, exhausted and tired of dealing with people and honestly, when I shop, I want to browse, organize my thoughts and figure out exactly what I'm going to be inspired by. I don't want to answer questions, I don't want to find a new best friend. I just want to shop. I've got a trip coming up, so I decided I was in the market for some travel-friendly items. That and because I figured the final dollar amount would be more favorable. But.my.gawd. Tell the corporate trainers to tell the employees to get off my ass. I don't need every.single employee to introduce themselves to me, nor do I need every employee to ask what I'm shopping for. I don't know what I'm shopping for! I'm browsing. I don't want a scalp treatment, I don't want a foot massage to sample your foot cream and I don't want to wash my face in your store basin. This is the only location in Austin. The staff didn't condescend, nor did they seem unapproachable. They were insanely nice. That's certainly not the problem. In fact, they sent me home with an ample amount of samples to take home with me. I just didn't like being bombarded with questions or forced conversations while trying to browse. I fell victim to being upsold to a product that expires in less than one month. Okay, okay. Saying no to someone is a personal issue I'm working on. Perhaps that's not entirely their fault. I'll buy something y'all. But, don't sound desperate to make me a repeat customer or spend more than I can afford. I'm not stealing anything, either. Just.let.me.shop. read more

What do you mean Mr. Smidgens can't eat your tasty looking treats?! These cookies look soooooo delicious though!!! Wait, this is a shampoo bar? OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!! Well if you are looking for tasty treats, Lush is not the place. If you are looking for handmade cosmetics that are not animal tested, you have hit pay dirt!!! Mr. Smidgens was lucky enough to head to Lush with his lovely songbird. I saw soaps and lotions with scents that reminded me of the first time I got off the plane in Hawaii and smelled the fragrant smells of the fresh lei being made to honor my arrival. With 2 visits under my belt we purchased shampoo bars, hair creams, and mustache wax. The "NEW!" shampoo bar is filled with cinnamon, clove, and mint oils. Great for stimulating those scalps!! Another shampoo bar for shine and body is the "SEANIK". This bar is filled with solid Irish moss seaweed, Japanese nori seaweed, and sea salt. This shampoo is sexiness in a bar! "R&B" is a revive and balancing hair finisher. Filled with softening ingredients of organic avocado butter, oatmeal, olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil, and candelilla wax. Leaves your locks oh so soft! KALAMAZOO!!! This face wash is great for furry faces! Filled with fresh pineapple juice, almond oil, jojoba oil, and cupuacu butter. This is great for my unruly stache. The citrusy scent of Brazillian orange oil leaves me with a great feeling and awesome smelling stache! Speaking of staches, Lush just saved my stache from being shaven off!!! OH NOOOO!!! It's okay, Mr. Stache, you are safe thanks to VEERAPPAN!! This debonair vegan stache wax is packed with rose wax and sandalwood wax for some heartwarming stache kisses! Mmmmmwwwaaaah!!! I am officially addicted to Lush's vegan cosmetics and urge you all to try these wonderful products they have to offer. Open from 10am to 8pm you have plenty of hours in the day to get your hands on some of their spectacular products! "Sir, please stop tasting the bath bombs!" "Sorry, I had to see if they tasted as good as they looked." read more

There isn't anything about Lush that hasn't been already said, but this location truly does have impeccable customer service: engaging and informative without being super overbearing. It's hard not to walk in and want everything, but that's the true art of practicing self control. I received great recommendations on the shampoo bar and face mask I purchased, best money I've spent on myself in a while, and even received a banana face oil sample upon check out. Had an amazing time at this lush and will definitely be back! A sales associate named Angél helped me immediately as I walked in the door and complimented me on my outfit. Was able to find exactly what I was looking for and the products worked so well. A couple of employees were wearing some of the face masks as i walked in, it was hilarious... but also really great to see the employees trying out the products to give more of a personal insight to customers. I love seeing that all your employees have so much fun working there! I got such positive vibes from this location. Left in such a great mood. When you walk in, the store smells amazing. I go crazy and want to buy everything! There are so many different products and they have an AMAZING return/exchange policy. I had some items from a gift set that I didn't like and they let me exchange the products for whatever I wanted in store! They calculated the total amount of all the products and I was able to exchange them with no fuss. The employees were very nice and helpful too! The only downside is the parking. Since it's downtown Austin, street parking is a nightmare. For a while, this was the only lush store in Austin and I'm so glad there's now one in the domain! Some of my favorites are the Ocean Salt body and face scrub, the Buffy Body Bar (leaves your skin so soft and moisturized. Probably my favorite product), and the Honey I Washed the Kids soap. read more

Overpriced for poor and inconsistent quality probably due to their "hand made" aspect. The only saving grace was their bath bombs, which were still PRICEY and not that impressive. Best staff ever, knowledgeable and not overbearing. Love the products and getting to come out smelling like the store

The staff here is awesome, sweet and outgoing! Automatically greeted with kindness when I walked in. One lady helped me out for at least 30 mins and put a lot of samples on my hand then explained every detail about them! Make sure you go when they get a new shipment in so you can take home what you want. I wanted two face masks but unfortunately they were out of stock, but she sent me home with 2 samples that I am very happy with! Some of my favorite items are the Mint Julips lip scrub, Prince shave cream (makes my legs feel like silk), Pumice Power foot scrub (relaxes my feet after a long day), and the Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar (this bar literally works magic and smells so good!). read more

I am totally not a cosmetics girl, but Lush has some awesome products that I can get behind. The Ro's Argan Body Conditioner is perfect for people like me who get dry skin in the winter but hate putting on lotion. This body conditioner can be used in the shower, so I can moisturize my skin without standing in a cold bathroom. Yes! It is pricey, but I've found a 1.5 oz jar lasts about a month, so the 7 oz jar should last about 5 months, which coincidentally is longer than an Austin winter. Other than the body conditioner, they have some great bath bombs that are wayyy better than the ones you may have tried as a high schooler. They're conditioning and smell amazing. Lush also sells solid shampoo (good for air travel), amazing soaps that smell great and work well, this squishy shower gel called Whoosh that helps you wake up in the morning, and bricks of henna-cocoa butter for dyeing your hair. I haven't tried henna for years because my hair has been blonde and fresh highlights and henna do not mix, but the Caca henna line has great reviews on the Lush site. Don't be turned off by the intense (good) smell of this store. They have some awesome stuff! It's vegan and the store is anti-animal testing, too. The staff can be a little too excited about their products, but last time I went in they were the right amount of helpful. read more

I went to Lush for the first time yesterday. I have several friends who have been addicted to Lush products for years and I always wanted to try them out. I've seen many reviews about the employees bothering the customers throughout store and trying to up sell them a product they didn't need. I did not experience that at all. I also went in already knowing what I wanted. The employees were super helpful. I ended up with massage bars, bath bombs and two face masks. I like that everything is natural and handmade. The Mask of Magnaminty is a must. You can use it for your face and back. It is very relaxing. I love this store and I will be back....soon! read more

Okay gentlemen, this place is all about the ladies in our lives: If you're genuine friends, take her to Lush and surprise her. If it's only about sex after springing for those tuna croquettes, just head for a bar and do shots. But if she's not even curious about Lush & just wants the shots, you have a different kind of problem on your hands. Here's the thing: Don't even think of Lush as cosmetics, think of it as a Buffet of Beauty, a Salad Bar of Soap, or a wondrous Omakase of Aroma. You get the drift. Everything here looks like amazing colorful food, and smells really sublime. And I really can't tell you what any of it is - let the staff do it, because they really, really want to. And then let her pick a little something for herself, and you cough up the ten or fifteen bucks - pffft, you're going to spend that much for the first hipster cocktail anyway. The difference here is at Lush, it's that one small gift that keeps on giving. And you'll both have a fun time being here. And that's what makes it a good thing. read more

I've lived here way too long without realizing there was a Lush store in Austin. Don't hide in that hard to get to complex Lush, stand out and proud like the sparkly little baby unicorn that you are. From soaps, to bath bombs, to oils, to lip scrub - you can get all your pamperin' needs at Lush. They are all organic, blah blah blah, but this review isn't about the product as much as the experience shopping at this location. You walk in to the cramped and busy store, but somehow feel alone with the bath bombs. Even though there are always tons of people in the store, you can get an employee easily and be in and out in minutes. I'd improve the parking situation if I could, but I'm not dense, I know we are in Downtown Austin and parking is and always will be a nightmare. The employees are also super friendly and helpful. Too helpful? I'm somewhat of a shopping introvert, I like to be in my head making decisions and not feel pressured by the staff, but they go away if you kick them.. uh, I mean, tell them politely that you're good. Seriously guys, don't kick the employees. read more

Lush apparently closes when Lush wants to be closed, regardless of their posted hours. Oh Lush Lush Lush. How I love you. I love you even more now that you have a store in Austin. I've been a fan of this fancy pants bath and beauty company for many years. If I were visiting a town with a Lush store there I would find my way to it one way or another. On my birthday and Christmas my family knows what to get. Lush. When we moved to Austin I made my husband drive me to San Antonio so I could visit the store. I've been happy to pay to ship my bath products from their factory in Canada. One of the regrets in my life has been that I was too sick when I was in Vancouver to visit the factory (not even sure if you can do that but I would've found a way). So, yeah, I dig them. This Austin store is in a square area at the big intersection of 6th and Lamar where I could (and do) spend a lot of money: BookPeople book store, Anthropologie, Waterloo records, and the Whole Foods flagship store. I could drop thousands here if I had it to spare. The Lush shop is on a small side street behind Waterloo. There's some parking to the side of the building and some street parking. A quick warning: This is not the store for people who are sensitive to smells. You can pretty much smell the store at 60 paces. And bored husbands will probably want to bring a book and settle in at the Amy's next door or take the trek over to BookPeople. The wait staff at this store tend to be a little over-helpful. I don't think it's a pressure tactic so much as they're just excited and possibly hopped up on the lovely smells. I'm not sure if it bugs them but I usually end up knowing more about the product than they do so they wander off after a while. Lush carries lovely bottled shampoos, amazing moisturizers (yes some are pretty overpriced but I swear that 89 dollar container of gorgeous is worth it), lip balms and scrubs, a few makeup products, face scrubs, body scrubs, cleansers, and toners. They have some really unique products too. Bath bombs - As far as I know this company invented them but you can get them anywhere these days. Basically (if you don't already know) it's a ball of citric acid (don't be scared) and baking soda that will fizz when they get wet and combine. Like those little school volcanoes. It doesn't hurt and isn't dangerous. So these ingredients are mixed with essential oils, shea butter, botanicals, a whole variety of ingredients. You drop the ball in a tub of water and the ball fizzes around distributing these lovely oils and other yummy ingredients in the bath. Lush's bath bombs can be pricey (averaging 5 dollars a ball) but they are worth it. I save them for special baths like if I'm about to go out or have had a bad day. I have been known to drop a ball in the tub, let it fizz some, then take it back out to dry. It works. Some have bits of flowers or seaweed so I put it in muslin or old pantyhose so I won't need to clean up the tub later. Bubble Bars - Basically a solid slice of bubble bath. This is probably the best value (this isn't a good place for bargains but take it when you can get it) because you can get several uses from one bar, depending on how much you use per bath. You take a bit and crumble it under the running tap and it creates some nice bubbles and lovely-scented bath water. Some slice the bars into smaller pieces, I usually just pinch a bit off the bar. Solid shampoos - This is one of the cooler things they have. It's a bar of soap that you rub on wet hair and it suds up like liquid shampoo. Really. And it works. It's a neat way to keep the bottle waste down and keeps the shower from being cluttered. They also have regular bottled shampoo. Solid conditioner - Same concept as the shampoo. I'm not as big a fan of the conditioner because I need a good amount of it to work. Fresh face mask bar- Similar to a salad bar but instead of chilled sliced tomatoes they offer chilled bowls of face masks made from ingredients like yogurt, crushed strawberries, blueberries, oatmeal, etc mixed into blends suited for different skin needs. They scoop it into containers for you to take home. If you bring in five empty jars from Lush you get a free face mask. These masks have a very short shelf life and need to be refrigerated so I don't get them very often. Shower Jelly- It's like soap but in gelatin form. Weird but kind of fun. I don't really use these but I'm a bather not a showerer. Slices of Soap- They have giant blocks of handmade soap that you can get sliced into the size and weight of your choice - like cheese at the deli but much nicer smelling and prettier colors. They tend to retire scents and mixes off and on and there are special holiday products that are always worth a try but don't get attached as they will disappear. The company's basic philosophies are for less waste and fresh ingredients. All in all I love them. A lot. And usually drop at least a hundred bucks when I go. If you go will you pick up a Big Blue bath bomb for me? read more

Can I please just live here? So, I've known about Lush for a few years because I always received their bath bombs as birthday gifts and stocking stuffers, but that was the extent of my Lush obsession until I discovered this store. OMG. Walking into the Lush store is kind of like walking into a Princess Bathtime Palace or something. There are so many bright colors and so many wonderful things to smell, and everyone just looks so happy. The sales girls seem genuinely excited about the products, and they're also knowledgable. Last week I came in just to buy some bubble bars and on a whim I asked about their moisturizers. The girl helping me gave me samples of the Celestial moisturizer and the Aqua Marina face wash and I came in a few days later to pick up the full size products. My skin is super picky about what goes on it and EVERYTHING dries out my skin but she did not leave me astray; my skin is already looking way better than it did last week! The first time I came in here I had dragged along the boyfriend (who hates shopping) and he actually ended up buying himself the Dirty gorilla perfume. :) It was a Friday afternoon and he got a bit overwhelmed by how crowded it was, but he said he was planning to come back at a less crowded time to get some Christmas gifts for his mom and sisters. So that says a lot about how nice and inviting this store is! The only bad thing I can think of about this store is that it's too easy to spend $100 or more. Oops. But is that reeeally a bad thing? read more

I've been a Lush user for over 6 years. I've always believed in their fresh cosmetic policy and have never had problems with their products either. That being said, maybe it's the location that makes me not want to go there. Congress may be the creme de la Creme when it comes to retail real estate, but with practically no parking and lousy roads, it just makes us folks who live up north cringe at the very thought to going all the way. The store as such is small. The employees are nice. So sorry to put it this way, but they're like a bunch of lovesick puppies who constantly want to please and they follow you around the same way. Sometimes, maybe I dunno what I want. Id like to browse without being hounded. A little bit of personal space will work wonders. The prices aren't cheap, but the quality speaks for itself. I really wish they open up another store that caters to the non elite non downtowners. read more

Lush Cosmetics - The good stuff - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Austin, Texas

Yes, I have been going since this location opened and haven't written a review until now. Why the wait? Well, for the first year I found the salespeople a little too intense. I get it, they sincerely love this stuff. They become prophets of Lush: Austin saw Lush and it was good. But they needed to realize one salesperson per customer was enough; not four evangelizing on soapboxes every four feet in that tiny store. Now that things have settled down, they are much more congenial and "play it cool" when you happen to pick up their favorite product. What do I love most? Returning five black containers = 1 free container of any fresh facial treatment. Second? The names convey exactly what the product is. "Sikkim Girls" is a sultry, dark tea and floral sexy rich lotion. "Honey Trap" lip balm tastes of honey and definitely traps in moisture. Third? They are fresh and traditional mixes. While I can't pronounce all of the ingredients in the shampoo and other more complex products, I like the simplicity of others. The Greenach deodorant smells of sage, thyme and rosemary which makes me feel like I have been gardening whenever I catch the scent of it (and not my pits) during the day. The massage bars are my favorite! Each Peach, Soft Coeur, and others are the best consistency and melt evenly. Fourth? I don't buy bath bombs, but when I do I buy them here. I can not stress this enough-- no one makes them like Lush. Golden Wonder is a large bath bomb that looks like a wrapped present in gold wrapping paper and a cream bow. When it hits water, it unwraps itself: your bath water changes from red to green to orange to... well, you get the picture. Phoenix rising is such a cinnamon-y treat in hot, hot water. Dragon's Egg bursts with confetti. Fifth? Samples are nice. A soap sample is okay, but you can sample lots of the stuff, just ask for a little to take home. There is really so much more! I really love Lush and hope another location opens up North. read more

First reaction: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG WE HAVE A LUSH STORE A little more info: I am cheap. Not just frugal, I'm c-h-e-a-p. My go-to shampoo costs less than .90 a bottle, and I do not spend a lot on beauty supplies (I am a girl who works in IT, makeup is an invitation to sexual harrasment). The shampoo bar is totally worth it. It lasts on me with hip-length hair for about three months. It smells great. It makes my hair soft, shiny, and far more managable. I hate most scents, but the New bar makes my hair smell like cinnimon candy. It's the best. And the bars last forever. I go through 2 bottles of cheapo shampoo a month (again, hip-length hair), so I go through about $6 in cheap shampoo or $9 shampoo bar, and I don't need conditioner when I use it, so I end up breaking about even. loooove it! read more

If you're on a mission for, say, a Christmas gift that you saw online and, perhaps, a little something for yourself, a piece of advice. Grab those two things and head to the check out. Do not pass go, do not unintentionally spend $200 that you don't have. Trust me, it's not easy to "stick to the plan," here, especially with some of the overbearing staff hovering over you. I've failed miserably time and time again. My previous review still stands. Will I go back? Of course. Will I stick to the plan (if I have one)? I damn sure will try (and likely fail miserably). read more

My sister was in town over the weekend and introduced me to my new favorite store, Lush! When I first walked in I thought it was a hipster version of Bath and Body Works spying all the rainbow colored soaps and bath bombs, but I was oh so wrong. I have very sensitive skin prone to irritation and I've tried just about every bath product under the sun. I've forked hundreds of dollars over to Aveda throughout the years and in times of desperation have found Aveeno and Cetaphil products to do the trick. Lush though is on a whole other level. All of their products are handmade and actually do what they say they will do! Honestly!! I was blown away. The employees were so helpful and gave me a mini hand treatment to let me sample some of their heavenly loot. They highly encourage you to play and sample here so go nuts, don't be shy! I wanted everything I saw, especially their luxurious ocean salt scrub and face cleansers. I stuck with two safe items though to see how my skin would react at home. An oatmeal face mask that smelt like banana bread and a cocoa butter massage bath bar with warm, soothing hints of clove and cinnamon. The ingredients in their face masks are so fresh they need refridgeration and only last 21 days. Only one use of each the mask and the soap bar later and my skin was completely transformed. No redness, no dryness, instead I was left smooth and glowing like one of the Twilight vampires. I am obsessed with these products now and want to only use them forever more. How did I live before Lush, how?! I also love that you can ask for exactly what you want. My sister wanted $10 worth of their charcoal face soap and they gladly took a brick in the back to cut the perfect amount for her. A little here goes a long way and if you keep the containers and bring them back to turn in they reward you. Bonus points earned for being an animal friendly and charitable company as well. You bet your sweet butt I will be back and am looking forward to it! read more

If you haven't been to LUSH before, the first time in the store can be a little over-whelming. Don't panic. Just slow down, relax, and browse. Don't be afraid to touch, and ask how something works. The staff here are eager to share their knowledge and tips towards use of the products. While there are certain "directions," honestly there are so many alternate ways to use LUSH products, don't feel intimidated into going just one route. Shower gels can function as shampoos and the other way around, drop some Happy Hippy into your washing machine for a nice burst of refreshing citrus in your clothes...the list goes on! The biggest and best thing about LUSH is that they are an environmentally conscious company, crusading loudly against animal testing of all kinds, speaking up for and funding human and animal rights causes, and working to change the world for the better. So by purchasing their products, you're actually supporting an ethical company! To date LUSH is currently donating money to two Austin-based causes - "Keep Austin Beautiful" and the "Rainforest Partnership." They actually just launched their Charity Pot - a pot of luscious cocoa-butter lotion in which all proceeds go to Rainforest Partnership. How awesome is that?! As along-time Lushie, I'll recommend a few items to get you started, as well as some of my man's favorites, for those thinking LUSH is only for girls. ;) 1. Dream Cream - chock-full of soothing essential oils, this is LUSH creator Mark Constantine's favorite product. It's a soft, soothing lotion that has a mildly herbal smell. It's my go-to item for the winter! 2. Full of Grace serum bar - This is a tiny little solid lotion bar, created to fit into the palm of your hand. Let it warm up with your body temperature, and rub it back and forth in your hands like you would lather a soap until a nice thin film forms on your hands. Then massage onto a clean face. It's meant as a night treatment, and this item more than anything in my life has rid my face of blemishes! It's a miracle worker! 3. Ceridwyn's Cauldron - This is called a "bath melt" - it's wrapped in a cheese cloth, and contains a solid mound of cocoa butter, chamomile, lavender, and other delicious nutrients meant to calm and soothe your skin. It gives your bath a nice silky soak and helps the tension just melt away... Of course, it's hard to ignore the colorful and aromatic bath bombs - favorites include the lavender/sandalwood sweet Twilight (glitter included, beware!), Fizzbanger (apple toffee - crisp and nummy!), and Big Blue (think of a clean, clear ocean), Avobath (lemongrass). I think I'll leave this review here...really, you have to go in to see for yourself. At the very least, consider LUSH a great alternative to the ho-hum gift staples of Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop. LUSH is far more interesting and exciting, and will no doubt result in a "wow!" from whoever the recipient may be! read more

I just wanted to write a glowing update. This time I wanted to focus this review to the wonderful Mic, who does a great job, as well as Rachel. The spotlight this time will be mostly focused on their hair care: Rachel introduced me to the BIG shampoo. She gave me a sample, and wow, was it beyond any expectation of greatness that I had. It has sea salt in it and smells super fresh, which I love. When you rub it in your hair, it turns into this explosion of lather, it is like the sea salt immediately converts into lush, massively clean softness. It is amazing. Words cannot describe. You must try this!!!! I followed it up with Vianese (Sp?) conditioner for fine hair. I love the clean citrus smell. I also love the R & B leave in conditioner. It is also insanely good. Then, we explored their dry shampoo. It is called No Drought and is around $13 but totally worth it if you are into dry shampooing.... There are so many of us that really don't have to shampoo every single day. Their dry shampoo smells great and feels nice. I have super fine hair and usually wash every day but was able to use this to hamper the extra oils that build up in my small strands quickly. It was effective, even though I prefer washing my hair daily for the most part. They were all great hair products on all counts! I love the way their soaps smell in the store, but they don't always stay on me. So to resolve that, I got some Grass shower gelish item....it really smells clean. Their shower type gels keep scents longer on me than their soaps do. I love their soaps though. They also had this limited time perfume that was all numbers called 25:43 I think?? It smelled like I had wandered through a citrus wonderland paradise and I got so many compliments on it. IT LASTED FOREVER on my clothing!!! When I went back, it had sold out, so I will not wait again! I think it is online though....it is so good for the citrus lover who likes the stronger scents like I do!!! MMMMMMM!!!! Thanks, Mic for showing me those fun, great Gorilla perfumes or perfume sticks....there is just so much to explore and take in here.... I LOVE THIS STORE! Thanks Mic and Rachel for providing such excellent customer service on a Thursday afternoon! read more
