Ordered a large pie with half sausage and half plain to go. The ingredients tasted fresh, but the flavors weren't over the top. There was a little too much dough that took away from the flavor of the sausage and sauce. We just moved to the area from California and tried this pizzeria with my son. The pizza was amazing, service was good, and they have cute outdoor seating. But for me, as a vegetarian which comes with it's challenges in this area for quick not overly priced go-to healthy meals, Lupo serves a delicious beans & escarole with tons of garlic! The dish is not expensive and they give a big portion. I hope they never raise the price or take this out of the menu. read more

The food is good although they skimp on the sauce and charge extra for an adequate amount. The sub comes with barely enough sauce to cover the chicken on the sub and doesn't even come close to covering the sub. The edges have no sauce or chicken. Just biting into naked bread on both sides. Its very frustrating because I already pay 13 dollars for a sub, which I expect to come with an adequate amount of sauce. I have brought this up while ordering and was told thats how they operate and they can provide extra sauce for a charge. They charge nearly twice the price of a sub from red bank, with nearly half the ingredients. Beyond frustrating. Lupo you will lose a regular customer if it continues. If the problem is fixed, I will adjust my review. This has happened multiple times. read more

Love their Detroit style pizza, the crust is amazing! I could eat all crust and be perfectly happy. We like their pepperoni and have enjoyed other toppings along with their wings, salads and broccoli. Their regular pizza is pretty good but is definitely overshadowed by the Detroit-style. read more

Hit or miss. I would say the safest thing to get is margherita with sausage. The crust is consistently bready and bland. I tried to branch out & try other things from them a few times & it was very disappointing. Burrata and fig pie was a round, tasteless cracker-like crust with a smear of jam and a tiny ball of cheese in the center, sprinkled in arugula leaves. Grandma pie had a fluffy, oddly dry tasteless crust with rubbery cheese on it that all the grease leaked out of. Just meh... so hit or miss. Some days you order a pie and its good. Other times it's awful. Our last order was a cold burnt pie and overcooked mushy pasta. rating not based on quality of food -- the pizza is best in the area. HOWEVER - they accidentally gave my order to a different customer... it's okay, it happens! What I found so irritating was that the person who was responsible for the mix-up took no responsibility, offered no compensation and I had to wait for a new pizza. To make it worse, when the customer with my order returned, they hand him his correct order without realizing they were giving that customer a free pizza, while I waited for an order I already paid for. I couldn't help but mention something, and to rectify the situation the cashier had the returning customer pay for the accidental, additional pizza. Everytime I go there they never use the spatula to pick up the pizza they use their hands. to put the food in the oven. I don't know about you but I do have a problem with somebody touching money touching their bodies touching everything and then touching my food.
