My family and I have been regular customers of TP since it first opened, we have always loved their food and the people that work there. I am also a life long FH resodent, so it truly upset me today when I was charged over $40 for a soup and sandwich, both of which were terrible. I called for the first time ever to notify a manger or owner and when I finally reached someone, I was questioned as if I did something wrong and after much debate I was offered a credit for my soup.... They have a great variety for breakfast lunch and dinner options. they are really great when it comes to gluten free foods and helping me pick out the right stuff. I each many salads here and I love their gluten free muffins and cookies. They also have gluten free brownies but Im not a chocolate lover, I know crazy. Before going to tavolo we stopped at the dunkin' doughnuts right next store to get coffee. Me and my friend sat down as my other friend ordered pizza. After we ordered already we were told to we were not allowed to be in there wiht our coffee. Due to us already ordering we had to sit outside in the freaking cold rain and wait for 20 minutes for 1 kids personal pie. When we were about to leave we through out the box in the outside trash can and a worker came outside a yelled at us that we needed to take our trash with us. I have been a customer of Tavolo regularly throughout the years. Today I went in for lunch with my family and our service dog. Two of the staff stopped helping customers to ardently oppose the dog in the store. When informed of his service status, they still insisted he leave and rolled their eyes and shook their heads. It was quite rude. They acquiesced and then rudely said "are you gonna order or what?!" The food is good but not good enough to justify their attitude and behavior. I work in the service industry in little silver and I am very aware of how customers and employees should be treated, and I can say with 100% confidence that I experienced the worst customer service in my life here. The atmosphere is fun and lively, the food is good, but the service was absolutely horrific towards my mom and I When they mixed up our order by mistake and we politely came back and we just asked if it could be corrected. Not a big deal at all. A young woman with short brown hair came outside and aggressively took our plates away with out saying and word and stormed off. She continued to question us if we really did have the wrong order-- extremely bizarre. The owner then came out and was extremely frustrated and exasperated and clearly did not have any control over his staff. This place is under new ownership. They took over a few weeks ago and you can see a turn for the better already. Stopped in earlier this week and had a fantastic Tomato and Mozzarella sandwich on crisp ciabatta (Balthazar breads are served here). Also had a soul satisfying homemade vegetable soup. My gal scarffed a fig, prosciutto and arugula salad. I didn't even get a taste! We were so impressed after this visit, we went back for breakfast today. They are doing all of their pastries in house (one of the owners is an accomplished pastry chef), so we has an amazing raspberry-almond crostada right out of the oven and a blueberry scone. Both were fantastic. We both had bacon-egg and cheese sandwiched for breakfast (on that amazing Balthazar bread again) freshly squeezed OJ's and coffee. This is my new favorite breakfast spot as well. When I arrived at the store I overheard some employees talking about me in a negative way. Besides saying things that I did not ask, they also said she won't have to worry about being gulten free bcuz evolution will take care of that. Unnecessary attitude and incorrect order. I ordered an eggplant parm sandwich around 2pm on a Sunday. The place was not crowded and there were no lines. About 10 minutes in, I asked someone at the order counter (not the person who took my order) to check on the sandwich. I got a dismissive "how long have you been waiting". I said, "10 minutes" and he replied, "it takes 10-15 minutes", but he didn't check on my sandwich. He brings it out to me shortly thereafter, also pretty rudely. Came in for the first time in months to pick up an order; when i called in a Kid with a dismissive attitude answered the phone, i had specifically ordered a turkey sub with American cheese lettuce onion oil vinegar salt pepper and oregano and extra turkey, got home to find the sandwich missing the onions and smothered in mayo but there was a good amount of turkey for sure, i called back to just ask for a replacement sandwich because the order was inputted incorrectly into the system i was not mad a simple mistake, when i called back a different KID answered the phone and i explained what happened and they said i could pick up a new sandwich, said specifically what i wanted again but had to repeat it 5 times because the KID could not remember more than two things at a time...of course they are messing up orders...picked up the NEW sandwich got home and opened it up to find they forgot the put the lettuce on the sandwich didn't even write it down on the ticket even though he repeated it back to me and it seemed like the sandwich was re-made with spite because there is literally half the amount of turkey as the original had and these two tiny pieces of american cheese which cover a quarter of the meat and with no lettuce and literally ONE PIECE OF ONION... they Fahked up the order and then gave me a crappy spiteful replacement sandwich which was also wrong... unfortunately i cannot recommend this place..for the amount you pay here the quality of food and service provided is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL UNDERWHELMING AND DISAPPOINTING read more
