Driving by and we found this cute Tex-mex spot! Everyone was so welcoming when we came in, and the ambiance was great. Our waitress asked if it was our first time, and we said yes. Later, the manager came out and welcomed us to the restaurant and told us a little history about it. He also let us try a beef fajita taco each, and it was delicious! Strolled into this restaurant while I was staying in Addison and exploring Dallas. The entranceway was clean and there was hand sanitizer for guests (this visit was during the 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic). Sat at the bar and I noted how incredibly busy this restaurant was. Staff was working hard and was very efficient at getting orders out that were placed before I got there. The bartender apologized twice that no one had taken orders in a long time, and said they would take care of me after the rush. Finally got formal service and enjoyed the drinks here, as well as the complimentary chips and salsa. I had the fajitas, which were served sizzling hot, and served with every accompanying side you can think of. Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. It was a beautiful day and my sister and I really wanted to have margaritas on a patio. My sister found this spot on Yelp but unfortunately it was too windy and not enough sun to sit on the patio so we sat in the booth. The manager greeted us at our table since it was our first time there. He offered us a sample of their number one seller, a steak fajita. The gesture was nice, but unfortunately we don't eat meat so we couldn't try it out. He did bring us the vegetarian menu to look at. We each ordered a perfect margarita while we decided what we were going to eat. We wanted nachos but didn't see anything on the vegetarian menu. They did however have veggie fajitas that we asked to be made into nachos. The manager came over and gave us a couple options which was appreciated. We also ordered some gucamole. We had chips and salsa that we received when we first sat down. The salsa was very flavorful and tasted fresh. The gucamole was good, one of the better batches we've had while in Texas. The perfect margarita was better than expected. When we got our nachos we were surprised. We were expecting stacked nachos which is usually served. The nachos we got was a half order and it was 6 chips loaded with veggies, black beans, and cheese. Jalapenos were on the side. The nachos were good but I wish the jalapenos were mixed in rather than on the side. Our second, and third, round of drinks I had the frozen rita with a grand marnier floater while my sister had it on the rocks. These were drinks were really really good, hence why he had two lol. I have always wanted to try this place and finally did. I had the fajita lunch special and it was plenty of food for one person I had a to go box and leftover lunch the next day. I also had a premium margarita with Codigo tequila and it was quite tasty. I must also admit, at $40 including tip, it was the most expensive lunch I have ever had but well worth it. They have 1/2 off fajitas (only applies to the 1 lb chicken and beef item) on Mon-Weds after 5pm. That's about $20 for a huge meal for two people! Even though the discount doesn't apply to other amounts or meats, you can come with a larger group and order as many 1 lb chicken and beef fajitas entrees as you want. The fajitas are great! It comes with a sizzling plate of beef and chicken, grilled onions, and grilled jalapeños, along with rice, beans, cheese, guac, sour cream, pico, and flour and/or corn tortillas. The meat is tender and a little tangy from the lime marinade. The beef is tastier than the chicken, although the chicken is surprisingly moist despite looking kind of dry. The flour tortillas are fine, but go for the corn tortillas. They're thick and chewy. They also provide complementary chips, salsa, and a bean dip. They are super generous. They gave us 2 huge bowls of chips and 3 sets of dips for 4 people. We also got the green enchiladas, which were stuffed with chicken breast, but also pretty juicy. I would just want more salsa on top. Also, don't forget the $5 margaritas (on the rocks or frozen) on Mon-Weds after 5pm. We came a little before 6pm on a Weds and didn't have to wait at all. Sat down at the bar with my partner. Was greeted nicely. We ordered drinks. I ordered a beer and a shot. Was given the beer. About 10-15 minutes had passed so I just assumed the bartender had forgotten my shot.. no big deal. So I got her attention and politely said I think you forgot my shot. To which she responded no I didn't forget it I've just got busy with other customers. These customers had sat down after us. I guess I just didn't understand why my entire drink order wasn't completed first before focusing on others. To me the response was just a little snarky. So at that point I didn't even want to talk to her. The vibe just felt off. 3 stars because the Queso was good. If I didn't eat that Queso it would have been a 1 star review. I really wanted to eat lunch here but couldn't because I was off put by earlier. Also my partner finished her margarita and probably took about 15 minutes to be approached again. And at that point we asked for our check. Look I understand being busy and having a lot on your plate. So I wasn't mad. Came here for lunch as a group with coworkers. When we got there it was pretty slow. Only a handful of tables. Our waiter was great but the food took a while to come out. Like most Mexican restaurants, they have complementary chips, salsa and bean dip while you wait. The salsa and bean dip were good but the chips tasted a bit hard. I had the fajita chicken taco salad. Last night's visit was an utter disaster. It was almost unfair for any of the patrons to spend any money on their visit. The restaurant should have just closed for the evening because they were in no way prepared. From the slow drink deliveries to the missing and incomplete food orders, it was one of the worst experiences anywhere. What really blew my mind is how management was completely oblivious to the service issues that I had to ask one of them to intervene and take control. It was obvious our server was new, but I had to ask for help when fajitas were served without tortillas and guests sitting plateless because food was never ordered. When you are asking for 18, 20, and 25% tips nowadays, the level of service has to be commensurate. I am not sure what the training program looks like there, but nothing was going well for anyone. read more

The food was just okay, as this was my second visit to the location. The food is inconsistent in flavor. The service was just okay- the hostess seemed annoyed. The wait to get a table was about 15 minutes due to staffing. Once seated the service was pretty quick. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and it was just okay- the enchiladas themselves were flavorful, but the rice and bean were both fails. The rice was entirely over cooked and the beans were just bland and overly fried. The side of queso save the meal- poured queso over the rice and enchiladas for the win. Cute restaurant. The host and manager were very nice and our server was on it when it came to drink refills. We got a lot of chips, salsa and beans to start. My dad ordered the Chipotle Ribs and I have the green chili enchiladas. Both plates were huge. Kiddos also get free ice cream, so we all left pretty full. One of my favorite things about this place was the restrooms. They had a men's, women's, and family, which is perfect for moms like me who have boys and a baby. My wife and I decided to try Lupe's in Addison since there is one going up near us in Allen...wanted to know if the hype was real. Everyone was nice, made our first experience great. With the chips and salsa they brought some borracho beans, they were AWESOME!!! Salsa was very smokey, not my favorite but my wife loved it. We ordered queso and it was pretty good. While enjoying the queso, beans and salsa the manager offered us a sample fajita since it was our first time...it was delicious. SO delicious we changed our minds and ordered the fajitas for ONE, a 1/2lb. When the beef fajitas came out they were burned, over cooked. The tortillas were HUGE and thin, which we really liked, they were amazing. While the taste was great, $27 for a 1/2lb of beef fajitas is ridiculous but we overlooked it with the sample we had eaten. We must have received the filet minot fajitas in the sample, those go for $36 or somewhere near. While the food was good, the regular beef fajitas for ONE are not for sharing and NOT worth $27...in my opinion you should get way more meat or the price should drop. There are plenty of places where fajitas for TWO are cheaper than $27. read more

Wow, where to start. First time trying both this franchise and location. Throughly impressed! I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas. I was very specific with the waitress (Whitney) that I like my fajitas very spicy and asked for either fresh jalapeños or habaneros cooked in the fajitas. To my surprise the dish comes to the table with BOTH jalapeños y habaneros!! It was not only a good helping of food, actually it was too much for lunch, but I digress. It was fresh and very flavorful! Muy picante y caliente. I had the flour tortillas which are about a foot in diameter - huge! So I made these massive fajita burritos. It was totally awesome! Oh and I had their spicy red sauce which is robust with tomato flavor. It was good with chips, but I would so order enchiladas or a burrito smothered in this sauce. Excellent!! We get our checks and I realize I left my wallet at home. Wow. Super embarrassing. Luckily I have a couple of buddies who would front the money for lunch no issue. I told Whitney my dilemma and asked if they took Apple Pay. Turns out they don't but she offered to pay for my meal from her tips. WHAT??? Said I could pay her on my next visit. WOW. We hosted a party of 16 Thursday night, and everyone agreed that our experience could not have been better. Two days earlier, Andrew, the manager on duty, reserved a lounge room for us, and when we arrived 30 minutes early, everything was already set up. Norm, the shift manager, and Sarah, our perfect hostess and server, made all of us feel welcome and appreciated. Took me a while to write this review, as I completely thrown off my experience. I came in for breakfast with my daughter. This is was my second visit, as my first was with a party of 13. Which we had visited the evening prior. What has upset me about the breakfast visit is the following. We arrived at 10:20, and seated pretty quickly. Placed our drink order and looked at the menu. They do not have a kids breakfast menu, was the first thing i noticed. You can order it "A la Carte " , to make a breakfast menu. Around 10:40, was told it would be ready in a few more minutes. Around 10:55 again, was told it would be out in a few more moments. In the mean time i am entertaining my daughter, with her iPad. Looked around and noticed the restaurant fairly empty. Did not understand what the delay is or was. Then around 11:15 the chef ?!?! comes around and says " that the system went down & not to worry our meal is free " . I appreciated the nice gesture, however he needed it to say it a bit louder so all the other tables could've listened. As i felt the other 3 tables looking at us. I didn't ask nor requested a free meal. I was simply curious why, it wasn't mentioned that the system was out for a while and burned almost an hour our time. So we waited. Then he comes back around 11:22 to say it will be out again in a few more moments and again the same crap " your meal is on the house no need to worry, its free our apologies." Again with the same shenanigans. Then the waiter comes around at 11:27, with the same thing " did my manager tell you the food will be free, and it will be out in a moment ? ". I flat out told him you can bring me more coffee and stop repeating the meal is free ? and came back with more coffee. We left around 11:45, didn't really eat my meal as i felt it was a bit embarrassing. When you do something for free, do not make your customer pay for it by parading what you are doing. I didn't ask for a free meal. I clearly indicated to him i was in a hurry, didn't expect to be at the restaurant for an hour plus. If that was the case, i would've gone to kitchen and cooked it my self or ate elsewhere. I am really going to have to think about coming back a third time. Did not enjoy the experience. read more

I have waited for years for them to come to Dallas the first time I found Lupe's in Houston I ate there eight times in a row dinner breakfast lunch and dinner breakfast lunch and dinner and then lunch again their food is that good. They have the best tortillas on the planet bar none they are huge, they are paper thin, and they taste like butter. I had been going on and on to one of my clients and finally took them their today, party of six and every single person said they were the best beef fajitas you will ever have, they marinate them in lime juice for 24 hours, they are absolutely amazing. We got the platter they have chicken beef and shrimp fajitas five star-all the way. they're new to town so the service was pretty bad but it will get better and you better go before the lines out the door because it will happen. read more

If you order fajitas at home, expect to not receive tortillas and a manager named "andrew" with a british accent to tell you he will make it right only to not do so. I assume its a fake manager or if he is real, a poorl organized one. I called to merely inform them and was told, after spending $60+ for fajitas by the LB with no tortillas we would be compensated to which we were not. Im not usually one to complain like this but I feel the employees just didnt want to get in hot water however I will be walking in tomorrow with not such a pleasant tune. I tried the pepper shrimp brochette for the first time. Our food came out SO hot! I don't think I've ever had food come to the table that hot before but I guess I'd prefer that over the food being cold. I was a little disappointed because the shrimp was not wrapped in bacon. Came here for dinner with a group. Parking is easy. They have a structure available or you can park in the lot in the non-reserved sections. Environment: we had reservations so no waiting around. Highly recommend doing reservations as this place can get very busy. Food: fajitas is the way to go. Comes with a boat of pico, guac, sour cream, and cheese. I liked the beef the best but others like the chicken. Their corn tortillas are amazing. Service: fast and efficient but seems slightly impersonal. They weren't too busy. We stopped here today for some apps and margs. The bartender wanted absolutely nothing to do with us. She was extremely inattentive, never smiled and was never there. There was barely anyone behind the bar! (315-6pm) she even left halfway through without saying she was leaving and the new bartender did not introduce herself. The black barrel margarita was SO good! However the 2 different bartenders made it 2 different ways. Queso was tasty but luke warm, quac was pretty good but their chips are incredibly thin - you cannot use them to scoop anything. We recently ordered takeout last week where the food was not complete when we opened it at home. We ordered two Burritos with fajita chicken which was missing the lettuces and small portion of rice and beans. When contacting the manager who apologized for the mistake mentioning new employees and offered to refund the prices of the fajita chicken, but it never appeared on my bank account. Lupe Tortilla is a gem hidden among all the restaurants in Addison on Belt Line Road. The food was great and the service was impeccable. I had one of the jalapeño chicken dishes and it was super. See pictures. We had the managers check in on us serval times to make sure we were doing well and our waiter, Alan, did an amazing job. Hmm... i'll try not to be biased about this restaurant because our son works there as a waiter. Tex-Mex food has its place and I'm always kind of on the fence whether or not I really like it or choose to eat there frequently at any of these type of locations. Nothing against Lupe tortilla. Having said that the place is large and has a great menu. They have a lot of drink specials and the menu is pretty extensive. The menu can be a little overwhelming for my taste. The staff is really friendly and I'm not just saying that because my son works there but people are really really genuinely friendly. pricing seems to be a little steep in my opinion for this type of food but you know costs are going up with everything, so I guess I understand why they charge more than your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. You do get what you pay for I think. Of course you always get the chips and salsa at the beginning and that's always a good thing. We had the fajitas which were spot on and we had a couple of cocktails with a little extra added to it and those were great. I think they know a thing or two on how to cook texmex So if you're looking for a great spot to hang out with friends just to catch some good food and a game on TV, they have a nice bar, I think this is the place you want to go to.
