My boyfriend and I popped in for a quick bite after work expecting your typical texmex chain. We were pleasantly surprised at the quick/friendly service and cool atmosphere. Once we were seated, the waitress asked if it was our first time, and we said yes, because it was. Shortly after, a manager came over to welcome us and offered us a free sample plate. So nice! Jenn the bartender was great. I debated between like 3 or 4 places and am glad i chose this one. I got the green enchilada chong combo and subbed fora puffy taco. Before that came they brought me a small sample of their asada fajita. I make my own asada so I'm pretty picky but this was legit. Puffy taco was also an interesting mix between soft and crunchy and green enchiladas and beans and rice were solid. The bartender made the experience though and I'll definitely be back. read more

BEEF FAJITAS!!! I have been a "fajita snob" since 1984 and I can say, without a doubt, these were the best beef fajitas I have ever had! The meat was perfect. Perfect. They use a special lime sauce marinade, and process that cannot be duplicated. The flavor was at a level I had never experienced before. Perfectly tender, too. The flour tortillas were amazing and thinner than corn tortillas (!). Chips, sauces, queso, rice & beans were very good but the show stopper was the Beef Fajitas. BTW, we ordered the filet mignon fajitas, too. They were FANTASTIC but still not nearly as awesome as the beef fajitas. Service was outstanding, too. Quick and attentive but without being obnoxious. We had the chicken, beef and filet mignon fajitas to go. The beef fajitas at Lupe are the best I've ever had. They marinate them in lime juice and it imparts a fantastic flavor. When we got home we had a question about whether the refried beans were vegetarian and spoke with the hostess about them. This is the better location for Lupe Tortilla. Wait time for seating is usually quick, less than 10 minutes. Hostess and wait staff are super friendly, fast and consistent, regardless of how busy it gets here. Our go to's here are fajitas for two, chips and queso, and a draft Modelo with a shot of tequila off in it. Very disappointed. This place was recommended for their fajitas. I ordered the 1/2 lb chicken and beef. The flavors were ok but the price point seems high. The chips were thin and tasteless except for a hint of old grease. The flour tortillas are too thin to hold the meat and were too large. They were burrito sized vs fajita sized. I also tried the corn tortillas. They were ok. This would be an ok place to go if it were the only place to get Mexican food but Chuys is right across the street from the location in Addison and as we drove away I wished I had spent my money and my time at Chuy's. So sad because I want to support all businesses in Addison but this place wasn't worth the visit. read more

I have been to this place several times. This was the second time I've dealt with an attitude from one of the bartenders, Julian. It was incredibly busy the last time I was in, and he does NOT handle being overwhelmed well. They need to make sure there are at least another bartender there. He was SO incredibly rude. I had two friends meeting me there for drinks and after dealing with him and him stating "I'm not trying to be rude" really? Because you SUCK at it! In the future if I see him working the bar I will leave. My friends and I took our business elsewhere for the afternoon. The food was great. The wait time not so much. Our bartender Dana was wonderful sweet but I couldn't help but notice she kept getting stuck at the service well. Understandable with the busy season. I think the main issue I noticed was the amount of managers or people who happened to look like managers walking by coming to the well with no assistance. I didn't see much of team work. I will say this... the food tasted good, the drinks were delicious, and it's a nice environment. But wowwwww were we disappointed (and embarrassed I might add) when we saw our plates come out. We were 3 couples and each couple planned to share a 1/2 lb of trio fajitas (1/2 lb cost $24, 1 lb cost $42). Pretty expensive right? The waiter assured us that 1/2 lb could easily feed 2 people. But when the platters came out (one 1 lb plate and one 1/2 lb plate), our entire table fell silent. The portions were ridiculously small. I was so mind blown that I didn't think to snap a picture of the platter. And they weren't even sizzling. When 4 of us evenly split the 1 lb platter, this is what my plate looked like: empty and sad. You're lucky if you can fill up on such small rations, but for the price?? Maybe a combo plate would've been a better decision. Maybe going to Campuzano's instead would've been a better decision too. Because like my plate, my wallet is also empty and sad, and my stomach is only full of regret. At least it made for a stronger buzz! All in all, don't get the fajitas. read more

First time here and we were shocked at the pricing and disappointed with the food. The total bill was over $60 for two entrees and two drinks. It was $17 for under cooked shrimp quesadillas!! The ticket time was over 30 minutes to get our food and the place was empty as it was 330pm, an odd time to be eating. The other plate that came out was supposed to be 2 chicken enchiladas and 1 cripsy chicken taco, but it was obvious that the plate sat under the heater because the taco was soggy and chicken was all dry, even in the enchiladas. Even if the food was cooked properly it would not have been good. Once we were ready to go the bartender was really into the girl next to us that he ignored us for a while and had to wait yet again to get the tab. We won't be back and don't recommend. read more

The taste of the beef fajita meat is inconsistent as sometimes it has the level of lime infused flavor one expects from Lupe and sometimes it is mediocre. When it is mediocre, the meat is indistinguishable from average Tex Mex. Let's improve the quality to justify charging $100 for fajitas. Also, consider giving an appropriate amount of salsa as we ordered 1.5lbs of beef fajitas and chips and they continue to send the smallest salsa container. Also grill the meat at a slightly higher temp to produce a better sear. read more

This was my first time visiting so they brought my friend and me two of the tiny (small street taco size) samples of beef fajita tacos al carbon. OMG. So good. It totally influenced what I ordered. I got the tacos all carbon with one beef and one chicken. Their flour tortillas are amazing. So light and thin. One of the best I've ever had. Without that sample I might never have known! I don't love their salsa. It isn't bad, just not great. It isn't salsa that inspires me to eat chips/salsa non-stop until my dinner arrives. So I guess that is actually a good thing. Lol. Their salsa is very similar in flavor to Chuy's salsa, right across the street. I don't like theirs either. This is just a less chunky version. I knocked off a star due to the acoustics. The floors are cement and the interior ceiling is tin. Every time someone dragged a chair around to sit down or push back from a table or to clean the tables it was excruciating to my ears. It also hurt when the busser was putting dishes in the tub and they clinked together. These are not sounds that ordinarily hurt my ears. They are just overly amplified here. I will be back for those amazing flour tortillas and tacos or the fajitas. I will just choose to sit outside next time. read more

We lived in Houston for 10 years and Lupe Tortilla was hands-down our favorite Tex/Mex spot, So we were thrilled to find that Lupe is coming to the Dallas area. Today we were in Addison on business and decided to have lunch at their Addison location which has been open about a month. We were seated in a booth right away - they were not crowded at all. Our waitress greeted us warmly and asked if this was our first Lupe visit. When we told her of our Houston background with Lupe, she shared that she also had lived in West Houston and had worked at Lupe there. We ordered a cup of queso as well as items from the lunch menu, sweet tea and water. Chips and salsa arrived, our beverages arrived, and then the wait began. After an embarrassingly long wait for our queso to arrive... our basket of chips nearly empty...and glasses half empty, our waitress appeared at the booth next-door and was chatting animatedly with those customers. She was facing in our direction so I began to wave my hand in the air to get her attention to ask about our queso. She never looked. Our lunch items finally arrived and it was all up to Lupe standards... hot and delicious. We were never offered drink refills by anyone, nor refilled chips. But if you don't have queso, why do you need more chips?? Our waitress reappeared to deliver our check and my husband asked her to remove the queso from our tab since we never got it. She immediately exclaimed, "Oh, they never brought it?", clearly shifting the blame to some other employee. She offered to have it brought out immediately but my husband pointed to the empty chip basket and said "Why now?" I asked for a to go box and a to go of my sweet tea. I got the to go box and packed it. My husband put cash on the clipboard with our tab. After waiting another eight or 10 minutes for my tea, we just got up and left without it. Thankfully, there are plenty of great Tex Mex options in our Frisco area so we won't need Lupe Tortilla. Hope they get the service side of their business shaped up - the kitchen is fine! read more

I don't if the kitchen was busy or what but we were shocked. I saw several people come in and leave when they heard the wait and saw all the empty tables.
