Their specialty is beef & cabbage soup with rice, served with a side of omelette and kimchi radish (banchan). It's simple, but packed with bold flavors. I went with the spicy option, which was still pretty mild, but incredibly flavorful and comforting. The beef was super tender, and the soup also came with glass noodles, which was a nice touch. Nothing fancy, just really good, comforting food done right. Definitely recommend!

The restaurant is definitely "homey" and "rustic" and transports me back to places in rural Asia - you can imagine the 15 years of bone broth seeped into the walls. There's only a few tables with proper chairs, and the larger ones have benches - without back support FYI. Appreciate businesses that specialize and are known for one dish, makes discovering new cuisines and overwhelming ordering easier. The dish they serve is a Super mild, comforting, beef soup. There's bits of shredded beef and potato starch noodles at the bottom of the hot stone pot, but otherwise be prepared and be comfortable with picking off meat from the large bone included in the soup. The soup comes out, bubbling, hot, didn't realize that I burned my tongue until an hour later. Be warned! The complimentary ban chan (& yes! You can ask for refills, also refills of rice) included cubed radish, a plate of thinly sliced Korean green peppers. (I learned that you eat this on your own and you dip it in the accompanying soybean sauce as a pallet cleanser), and a soft salted egg omelette. You get a packet of Gim (Korean roasted, seasoned seaweed). How to eat: get a spoonful of rice, dip it in the soup. Or make a "kimbap" with the gim, rice, omlette, pepper. Can also dip that bite into the soup before eating it. Chase with a piece of radish kimchee. Eat some more soup/beef/noodle. I got the spicy version, but friend always gets the plain version - even though they eat very spicy. It makes sense because you want to taste the quality and cleanliness of the soup. The spicy version wasn't too spicy - like a mild Thai spice. The total price now these days (9/2026) is $20 ($18.99 on the sign, but assuming they round up with tax). Ate there on a Thursday, early dinner. There was a steady stream of to-go orders, and consistent 4/5 tables filled. A mix of families (also have a rice + gim plate for kids!), solo diners, young adults. Mostly Korean, Korean - American, Chinese, and Chinese - American. Surprisingly the staff & servers were all Latina, I'm not mad about that. Korean owner/manager popped in later with produce.

As a Google content creator with over 16+ million views, I travel extensively and dedicate my time to rating the absolute best culinary experiences out there. After dining here a number of times, I can say without a fraction of a doubt: Daesung Korean Noodle is an absolute masterpiece of Korean cuisine. While everything they touch is spectacular, their Seafood Pajun (Pancake) is the crown jewel. It is undeniably the best SF Pajun in New York City--completely outclassing the famous spots in Manhattan's Koreatown. Served sizzling hot, it strikes the perfect balance of a beautifully crisp exterior and a richly savory, topping-packed interior. It is a mandatory order every single time I visit. The incredible flavor profile extends across their entire menu: * The Hand-Cut Noodles (Kalguksu): Plump, perfectly chewy fishcake wheat noodles served in a deeply comforting, crystal-clear broth. * The Seasonal Kong-guksu: An elite, refreshing summer treat featuring ultra-smooth, cold black bean soup that is completely authentic. * The Steamed Dumplings (Mandu): Delicately thin skins bursting with a perfectly seasoned, juicy filling. * The Banchan: Even their house-made fresh kimchi and pickled radishes are incredibly crisp, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. What makes this neighborhood staple truly extraordinary is the talent in the kitchen. The kitchen crew is entirely from Guatemala, and their masterful execution of traditional Korean cooking techniques is flawless. They bring immense passion, precision, and soul to every single dish. The ambiance is clean, warm, and inviting, while the floor staff is exceptionally fast, polite, and attentive. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Daesung to anyone looking for an elite dining experience. This is pure comfort food executed at the highest possible level! Thank you!!

I had to wait for over 25 minutes with a group of 6 on a weekday morning but it was well worth it. After you get seated You get served some sides like most Korean places do. It was kimchi and what seemed like a crispy item. pickled radish?apple?chayote? maybe one of those three. You also get served a grain tea which is one of my favorite types of tea. It was tasty but very mild/light in flavor I came here mainly for the seafood pancake. My friends said they loved it here so I came to check it out and it did not disappoint . The pancake came out sizzling and crispy. I'm usually not too big of a fan of seafood pancakes but everything in this one was great. Not overcooked and the flavors came out great. The flavors worked so well with each other without having a heavy seafoody flavor.

Super comforting and satisfying!!! The spice level wasn't overwhelming, but it still had that numbing mala kick I like. Definitely better with rice noodles! One thing to note is that it doesn't actually come with protein or vegetables by default. You have to order everything separately, which wasn't super clear since the pictures made it look more complete than it is... I also tried the shredded potatoes, which was pickled...I've had better elsewhere. Got a side of pig ears as well. It was fine, but they were sliced very thin so there wasn't much to it. Overall, I'd come back for the noodles and would try different broths next time.

However, this cuisine is just not to my liking so it's not something we will be trying again.

Obsessed. It's perfectly crisp and tangy, and pairs so well with the noodles. I always order the chicken knife-cut noodles, they're comforting, flavorful, and absolutely hit the spot, especially on a cold day. I was told that the noodles are homemade, and the texture was chewy but not overly soft. If you get the order to-go, you best eat it ASAP because they do not separate the noodles from the broth. The bowl was filled with a bunch of clams, mussels, one shrimp, zucchini and carrot slices, and potatoes. The clams were flavorless and a little sandy, but the mussels were good. The broth was clear and flavorful, but not overly salty. The seafood pancake was good. Portion size is big, batter very crispy, it's oily but it doesn't feel that way when you eat it. Only con is I wish there was a little more seafood. You are given banchan of freshly fermented kimchi and radish kimchi. I prefer fermented pungent kimchi because I enjoy the sour taste, and though the radish kimchi was really chunky it was on the sweet side, so I wasn't a fan. The staff speaks Korean and Chinese.
