If you can find Friendship Shopping Plaza on Main Street, then enter the alleyway to find this small shop specializing in marinated meats and offal. They have lots of different options for those of you that enjoy all parts of an animal. After a handful of visits, I have tried quite a few items from this takeout shop. The owner is very friendly and always on site. On certain days, there is also a female that speaks English well working.
My favorites so far have been the pig snout, large intestine, and beef tendon. You could take them home by the pound and cook heat them up however you prefer. Another option is have the owner mix it up for you in their spices and aromatics (highly recommended) and eat it as is. I usually go for the full mix, which included a spicy mala sauce with garlic, onion, cilantro, and peanuts. However, feel free to tell him to exclude anything you don't like. Most recently, I order some pig snouts without mala because my friend liked spicy, but not the numbness. It was still absolutely delicious. If you're ever lucky enough to see the pig face ($25), be brave and order it because that's some of the best eats on a pig. One last recommendation, the local fish cake made with egg whites and topped with the yolk is quite good pan fried or thrown into hot pot. read more
