1st time customer ready to make a large order to try out thier food. Service was unprofessional, rude, and very slow, in both senses of the word. You'd have to be very mentally "slow" to be smarmy & have a nasty attitude to any customer, let alone a 1st timer in your new establishment, in this economic climate. Not smart, especially given the fact that there's so much competition in the immediate area. The woman taking my order has no business being on the phone, at all -- in addition to being "slow" she was literally slowwww. Imagine giving somone the common prefix for a phone number (914) and they rudely interrupt you in a really nasty tone, going: "wait, wait, wait ok? Just wait, give me a second, ok?" Ok... 9.... Onnne... 4 right? 914?" Lol seriously? I'm speaking to her in fluent Spanish, mind you, so it's not a language issue. I won't go into the details of the rest of my customer experience except to say she was disrespectful, and smarmy every step of the way, for no reason. I'm an easy-going person, and I was as patient as possible until enough was enough. "You know what, never mind," I stated, and hung up. There's something in our culture called "educación." It has an alternative meaning to formal schooling, that pertains to social manners, class, and style. That lady ain't got it. In fact, we have another word that describes her well: " Bruta." Brutish, dull-witted, and nasty. I don't say this with emotion or anger. It's just a fact. I wouldn't take that treatment if they were serving the ambrosia of the gods, let alone the basic standard fare they sell, and neither should you. So, congratulations Lulo -- you lost a potential customer right out of the gate, and I know for a fact I'm not the only one. News travels fast. Take my advice, and keep that lady off the phone, and put her to do something else, maybe in the kitchen, away from customers. Just came from the restaurant because it showed up on my instagram feed from la comelona esa. Its a typical Dominican restaurant and nothing out of the extraordinary here. Service was ok, I was the only one at the counter and the lady was not really focused but picking up her phone. Food: large variety and decent prices for an entire family combo. I got combo#10 goat meat as that is their "specialty" The food is good, the is really good but for me, it needs a bit more of spiciness or maybe more Oregano as the original recipes. I lnow I cant ask for that as the goat meat in the USA comes mostly from Australia and not from DR where they eat oregano thus come pre-seasoned. Anyways, i will come back to have food to go. Food is pretty good but service is not and they are very rude and unprofessional over the phone. After multiple attempts and patiently waiting on the phone for over 15 minutes just to speak with someone who understands English, and after being tossed around multiple times, they rudely hang up on me! Apparently, the person who supposedly speaks English couldn't understand me giving her my address for the order after me repeatedly, and slowly spelling it out for her! When you call to order and you don't speak Spanish, forget it! Either they put you on hold, after hold, for a long time, or they send you an order missing side orders. The last time I ordered the combo, they brought me neither the beans nor the salad that was supposed to come with the combo. I ordered through doordash but I didn't want the restaurant to get into trouble so I tried calling them directly to let them know they were missing parts of the order; the girl pretended she didn't understand me. I tried calling today to place the order directly with them and they put me on long holds on each of my attempts to try to order. The person who supposedly spoke English came on the phone and when I tried to provide my address she couldn't understand me, put me on another hold at which point I gave up. I called again, a guy answers, he puts me on hold for another 5 minutes, the same lady from my previous phone call picks up, then she places me on another hold, picks up after a couple of minutes the she rudely just hangs up on me while I'm the middle of trying to slowly provide her my address for the order!!! I guess they don't want your patronage if you don't speak Spanish, which to me is a loss for them because I did like the food. I wanted to give them another chance to order again from them despite them missing parts of my order the last time, and after being placed on multiple long holds today! There are so many people by the location of this restaurant whom I know like the food and would like to order directly from them but don't speak Spanish, which means they can't order from them over the phone unless they pay DoorDash service fee or online order delivery fee. Prior to me calling to try to order over the phone, I attempted to order online from their website but they wanted to charge me $10 delivery fee for an order of almost $70, which I refused to pay. Their hard copy menu I got when we ordered from my workplace states "free delivery" so I will not pay $10 delivery fee. Since they are apparently not willing to take my order over the phone because I don't speak Spanish, and after rudely just hanging up on me, I will DEFINITELY not be ordering from them any more nor will I be recommending Lulo Restaurant Yonkers to anyone I know! Anyway, it's their loss: I'll try other Dominican/Spanish restaurants in the area! if they continue in such a rude and unprofessional manner, they'll go out of business soon even if the food is good; just my opinion! read more

They have a variety of food that change from day to day. Food is really good. Their baked chicken is amazing. Parking can be tricky but I park across from the Laundromat. The ladies are friendly which makes the service a pleasure. I always do take out but the place is always clean. I will definitely return. read more

I been to their other spot in Manh and I decided to try this one - nothing to write home about honestly. Food was okay, but from the looks of it EVERYTHING is seasoned the same SO EVERYTHING looks RED. I dislike that!!.. so I only ordered the black beans n broiled chicken which u cannot go wrong with cuz those canNOT be Red. Service and Ambiance are okay - it's always 2 'customers' sitting there.. Amazing food, i ordered delivery service was quickly over the phone the lady was very friendly.

I am writing this because of one thing and it is not the food because the food is very good and I do enjoy the food but if you're gonna go here and you're gonna buy anything, I would make sure either you read the menu or ask the customer service people at the Counter how much things cost because every time I walk in this place and I like to eat their food and I like Spanish food and I come there as often as I can cause I'd like to support my local business. The price changes it up for less and down for more. I got more stuff to bring home to my family and spent less and just today. I go in there and buy something very simple that I've gotten and it cost more than it did for my family. Need consistency I'm not asking you to be McDonald's and have a price list on your board behind you or consistent prices throughout the entire chain which I know you're not, but be consistent with your prices, going forward across-the-board. Because of this, I hadn't gone there in a while and tonight I felt like going to have something good and simple and easy and on my way home and this is what I have to walk out. I'm not the type of person to walk out on a business and be rude, but I would not get robbed. And that's kind of how I feel right now whether it's going to be amazing or not not comfortable so you make your decision if you decide to read this but giving you friendly advice from a guy who likes his food and likes to order and likes to go out.
