Solid pizza, very fresh and didn't taste like it was sitting around at all - like some slice shops. We especially absolutely loved the Margherita - it was delicious with a good tang to it from the tomato sauce. All of the other slices were good too, but the Margherita was definitely our favorite. Besides the great pizza, the staff were super friendly and didn't even make us pay when we got our food. A rarity these days and, in some ways, sort of a throwback to old pizza shops, but we paid after we ate. In an odd way, it made me feel good about being here - like reliving my past days roaming around the outer NYC boroughs and grabbing a quick slice at a shop. (A truffle hunter told us to always ask the chef what region they are from to ensure they are authentic and not oil or fake lab grown because they have to certify the region they came from before exporting them.) TMI I know but if you're a foodie you might appreciate this knowledge. For appetizer, the table ordered the filet ravioli....I liked the Brown sauce and greenery it was served with but wish they included more green beans. The meat was cut in large pieces inside the ravioli and was very tender. It was unique. Save some bread for the sauce. Hub had the dry aged steak and thought it was too thin and meh for the price. He's picky AF so that that with a grain of salt. I think he was expecting the meat to be like Cafe panache or a steak house and it was not so he won't get that again. I asked her for tap water that never came...asked again and after 30 min I asked again and this time a bottle of water came that was not tap water. Fine. I didn't send it back because I was so thirsty. This water ran out and then i finally got the tap water bottle from the guy but I could def taste the difference. If I come back again I'll will get the bottled water because something tasted off with the tap water. I wanted to ask for lemon to make it palatable but felt like I was being annoying because they were busy and it was impossible to get another refill. But it was getting late and they started clanking the silverware and turning up the lights and I'm sure everyone wanted to go home so that's fair.
