This is a chain fish and chips restaurant. It seems I was at their Appleby Rd location 2 years ago…read more I ordered the following: 1. Haddock Fish & Chips (2 pieces $25.99) and upgrade to Onion Rings (+$1.00). 2. Banana Milk Shake ($6.49). It came with big bottles of ketchup and tartar sauce. You can get other condiments if you wish like salt or vinegar. The food came out quite quickly. The fish was fresh, and the batter was light and slightly crispy. The tartar sauce was very creamy; it is homemade,  their specialty. I found the Cole Slaw more tart than I would like. The Onion Rings were good. The customer service was very attentive. There is a children's menu. The interior had a wood and nautical theme; overall, it was quite pleasing. There is very soft music playing in the background. The AC fan and sounds from the kitchen were louder! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is free parking in the mall's parking lot. There are two high chairs for little children. Review 2023-297

Now for the bad things, the halibut fish was pretty meh, you could still taste the egg they used in the batter, the calamari was also pretty meh, wasn't crunchy and overall preferred chained restaurant versions of calamari. The fries were what you would expect at a fish and chip place and the restaurant was DEAD. Now I know it's still Covid times so that's not really a red flag but it low key looked a little out dated. I didn't dine there so I wouldn't know how the service was but from just ordering it wasn't that bad. So overall I give this place a 3 stars and if you need a quick fix for fish and chips I guess you could come here.

When I inquired with the service staff about a realistic wait time, I was met with indifference; they seemed unsure and continued to seat new customers despite the chaos. After waiting for 40 minutes, I decided it was time to leave. My rating of 1 out of 5 reflects the poor service I experienced--this situation could have been managed much more effectively. I ended up ordering from Kelsey's afterward, and they had my meal ready in just 15 minutes. Unfortunately, Halibut House, you've lost a customer for good.
