I had been told this was a sleeping gem across the bridge, so having left to early for a function "on the other side" we stopped in for lunch. I must mention this was on December 26, and somewhat of a dark hole of holidays. Luke's has a very nice dining room and large bar. The menu was extensive; we ordered the fish tacos and grill cheese with Italian Wedding soup. The biggest detractor was that the entire placed seemed served by one lone waitress. And while the lone server was super nice, the amount of service she could share was painfully little. It took us well over an hour to dine, and sat without drink refills for most of lunch. Stopped in on our way to Ocean City after my husband declared that he hates Cracker Barrel and refuses to eat there. I was skeptical about a strip mall restaurant in sleepy Stevensville despite the positive reviews. We were seated promptly, the bar area was busy but the restaurant was fairly slow. The service was well executed but not especially quick, that would be my only complaint and it is minor. We were dining late with children in tow or I would not have minded the delays at all. The food, despite my fears, was excellent. We started with the crab dip, which was served with warm French bread. The dish was smaller than the $16 price would lead you to expect but filled with crab and comparable to the better crab dips I've had. Our entrees included fish and chips, blackened ahi tuna with asparagus, blackened mahi with baked potato and asparagus and pizza. All dishes were fresh, well-portioned and cooked to perfection. The fish and chips were shared with our mini diners who generally do not appreciate fish but enjoyed their portions. The blackened ahi was served with a creamy wasabi sauce that provided just enough bite to complement the tuna steak. The asparagus was grilled simply and delicious. All in all an unexpected treat and very positive dining experience. We will certainly be returning on future trips through town. read more

No enthusiasm is an understatement about the staff here. You'd think charging 12.00 for a burger they'd at least smile about it while they're bending you over a barrel. Good portions of food...corn beef was really tender...the sauerkraut was chewier than the meat. The sweet potato fries are wedges but still has a nice crispy outer texture n soft inside. Hard pass. Saturday night, 5:30, 2-3 people in the bar, one other table when we came in, left soon after, only one more came in. Two servers. Despite this the server managed to screw up my order and forget to refill drinks for the duration of our meal. The floor was filthy. Food just adequate. The burger was perfectly round (in other words, premade/thawed), greasy, and the ratio is off--way too much burger for the bun size. It was so greasy that the bun became inedible in short order. The food is DELICIOUS the atmosphere is great smooth quiet peaceful came here on a Sunday with my Wife and had a blast! I ordered the burger and she ordered Baby Luke's and Loaded nachos. We have been coming to Luke's Grille for years. They have great food and a relaxing atmosphere. Whenever we want a great burger we head to Luke's. Sadly, last night we were very disappointed with our bartender. She was the only one working the bar but it was not crowded. Her body language reflects that she must hate her job. This was not the first time we have received bad service from her. We are used to the fact that she never smiles but last night she was more non attentive than usual and actually left the bar for about 15 minutes. One couple came in, sat down, waited for service and left before she even came back. The other servers tending the tables at the bar are great and friendly. If we go back we will sit at a table not the bar. read more

Took the family there last Friday night for dinner. I ordered a ny strip which was supposed to be medium. Steak came out way overcooked and was chewy. Daughter had the crab cakes in which she said tasted funny. Wife had the ham and cheese on pretzel roll. When we came home daughter started crying and stated her stomach was hurting. She ended up throwing up all night. Wife also was sick on her stomach and ended up throwing up. Arrived after my niece's dance recital kids got the fish and chips for $5. I got the 8oz blackened ahi tuna sandwich. My son also got a cup of cream of crab. It was served hot, old bay sprinkled on top, big chunks of crab meat-yummy. The tuna was huge. read more

Used to go every week--back then they had Resurrection on tap and a former member of Little River Band played guitar and sang a few times a month. Tony stopped playing there--can't blame him, since a lot of people sat there and talked while he played--the best bartenders left--and they replaced Resurrection with Stella so we stopped going. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars... the reason is that they were so understaffed most of the place could not be used. We asked one of the wait staff if we should leave and they said that there were only two people on staff... so obviously poor management. The fact I am giving 3 stars is kind and its because the wait staff was really honest and very forward. I'd like to try this place again in the future. A total surprise! The menu was extensive, but we were there because we had heard they had won 'Best Burger on Eastern Shore' for two years in a row. "Ten ounces of fresh ground chuck" the waitress announced and ten minutes later she proved it. I have never tasted a better burger. A treasure ... and we live only a few miles away. Stopped in for some happy hour drinks and apps...which was limited for specials. As a sucker for anything that involves tortillas or tacos I ordered nachos. I wish I could review this place on the food, but I can't because I didn't eat any. I might give it another try but we'll see. Yelped this place a few days before a date and got really excited about it. The food seemed really good, the reviews were pretty good and it was across the bridge, so we'd get a little adventure on our date. So my date and I traveled across the bay bridge, tummy's grumbling the whole way; I was a little surprised to see a place of such caliber (according to yelp) was hidden in a shopping center off of rt 50. but either way was still excited. We stepped inside and the place was empty and no one was as the hostess stand, it was really odd. We waited for about 2 minutes, I looked around the corner into the dining room and saw a family seated in this otherwise empty space. There's a door that leads into the bar area and several waitresses/staff members looked right at me looking at them and walked away. Finally, after 10 minutes, we just decided to seat ourselves because we really wanted to try the food. After 5 minutes of siting, a waitress came by and tossed menu's at us, said she'd be back for a drink order and walked away. We waited 10 more minutes and finally walked out. That kind of service on a busy saturday night I could maybe understand; I still wouldn't like it but I'd get it. But it was a Tuesday night and the place was dead. We stuck out like sore thumbs in the empty dining area. As I said before, I might go back because the menu entices me but the place is not run very well. read more

Really good bar food and okay selection. Not a place to eat at if you are in a hurry, but the service is great. We mostly eat in the restaurant, but have occasionally made it over to the bar to catch a band play and have really enjoyed ourselves. I love places like this, I really think places like Luke's are what make small town America great. It is like Cheers, no joke. Everyone knows everyone. The bartenders always remember your name and what you drink, and the food is far better than what you would imagine just looking at the place. Went for dinner with my husband and 9 year old on a whim on the way home from the Western Shore to Easton. Seriously, this place has the BEST cream of crab soup I have EVER had. This was the worst place I've ever been to! I ordered a blt (bacon, lettuce, tomato) sounds pretty simple right?! Yea... Well it was disgusting! I asked the waitress if they put mayonnaise on the sandwich she said no. So I asked for a side. When she brought my sandwich out the amount of mayonnaise that was put on this sandwich I would not feed to my dog!! Horrible!!! Also my boyfriend ordered the tuna. It was so over cooked there was no pink left! Our waitress dropped off the food and never came back to check on us.
