My husband and I decided to try Luigi's for their Easter Buffet. Located in the strip mall called Homosassa Square Shopping Center on South Suncoast Blvd. I called ahead and made reservations for us and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant was decorated so nice and festive for Easter with a huge wall mural and seat covers for all the chairs. We couldn't help but smile! The restaurant filled up fast after we were seated and I can see why. The staff from hostess to all the servers were warm and friendly. They took care of our all of needs with a smile and attentiveness that was refreshing. Their buffet was VERY good starting with a small but filled salad bar table including a delicious homemade potato salad - one of the better tasting ones that I've had in awhile. It also had pudding included. I didn't try it because I seen on the hot table a dessert that I wanted. The hot food buffet had four different meats, roast lamb with mint jelly on the side, roast turkey with a cranberry sauce on the side, ham and roast pork. The vegetables on the steam table were homemade mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and a split pea soup. I tried the ham, the turkey with cranberry sauce and for the first time ever roast lamb with mint jelly as my meats. They were all delicious and I was surprised that I liked the lamb with mint jelly because I was always a little leary to try lamb because I heard it could have a gamey taste. Their lamb didn't not taste gamey at all - well seasoned and roasted perfectly. I did enjoy it plain and with the jelly. The turkey was moist and delicious. I dipped it in their brown gravy - again very, very good. Even their split pea soup was to my liking. I enjoyed everything including a small salad and their spiced cake with whipped cream topped off my meal! Even their ice tea was extremely good. I couldn't find fault with anything. We will definitely be back to try their buffet again on a normal day. read more

Our waitress was very rude - no smile and we were totally bothering her. We both got the buffet Chicken was mostly breading. Everything else was not good either. The buffet was not kept refilled. Salad bar was mediocre. It had only ranch dressing but you could ask your waitress for something different. Bothered her yet again, how dare I? Ate breakfast here today. I enjoyed the sausage gravy, biscuit, bacon and egg breakfast while my wife commented positively about the pancakes and hash. I do wish we came later, though, because the buffet lunch, which is VERY reasonable priced has some of the best fried chicken and fish ever! Went for the first time. Smelled wonderful when we walked in. We ordered drinks and a pizza ignoring the Newsmax program on the TV. Once our order was placed, the chef started loudly adding his commentary on the politics being reported and complaining about immigrants all while wearing his MAGA hat. I would give zero stars if I could. We came in when it was not busy. They yelled we can sit where ever and then took forever for us to get any service. We had to ask for plates for the appetizer. It took over 40 minutes to get the food. Employees yelling at each other the entire time. A larger group walked in and employees started to yell oh great they are coming in here. We stopped in for lunch thinking they had the buffet, however it was a Saturday and no buffet. We ordered the broiled all you can eat shrimp and the rack of ribs. Both excellent and the all you can eat shrimp was plenty in the first order. What I really want to talk about is the exceptional waitress, I did not get her name, but she was the best waitress I have seen in years. She was kind, efficient, kind of silly with her customers, she is truly a lost art in today's world. Her customer service skills were beyond exceptional. He kept an eye on every table to make sure her customers were happy. If you want good food and good service Luigi's is the place to go. As the name implies they do Italian food well. The calzones are amazing with homemade marinara sauce. The ziti is very good also. Surprisingly the pizza was not that good, we took it home but did not finish it which is very rare. The pizza sauce was strange and way too much cheese on the pizza. If you are considering Luigi's for a prime rib FORGETABOUTIT! Had THE WORST prime rib dinner ever!!!! I sent the first one back and asked for one that was medium rare. The cook obviously had not even had the roast in the oven more than 30 minutes! There was no flavor or crust and the cut of roast had to have been the cheapest one. The meat was raw, with no flavor at all and was served in a plate that already had watery au jus that splashed over the plate. When I tried to cut it, the meat was so raw that it wouldn't cut. The food was subpar. But the cost for everything was ridiculous. $60 dollars which after tip was about 75 for it. For a senior meal, mozzarella sticks, 12.99 pasta meal that included a small salad drowning in dressing and breadsticks, a cheeseburger and 4 drinks. And then when we asked for an itemized bill because we were highly confused why we were paying for a high dollar meal for a disgusting restaurant. We are not going to order anything from this place anymore!! A few months ago I found this place near where I live and ordered the Luiggis Special pizza and to my surprise we loved it. We are lovers of thin crust and also a lot of sausage, pepperoni and a good portion of vegetables including the mushroom which are fresh and not from cans and The cheese was real!!! There are many places that don't add real cheese. Anyway, we loved it and since then we started ordering only pizza from this place but a month ago we noticed that it had less meat and vegetables but just as good. My son came to visit and I told him about this pizza and very excited we ordered 2 pizzas. A total disappointment! The pepperonis could barely count on vegetables and worst of all, they are no longer adding real cheese. It didn't taste good and completely plain. It's very sad because for me the pizza was the most decent thing that could be consumed in this place, because we went one day curious about the buffet and it made us nauseous. Poor cleanliness, employees taking food from the buffet and licking their fingers and continuing to serve. And the reason that even seeing this situation we continue to order the pizza is because we reheat the pizza in the oven so that it is crispier. Friendly staff , family run restaurant. Most meals are made from scratch, only two dishes , might be partly made with frozen ingredient. They have a buffet lunch (11:00 till 2:00) weekdays. My wife and I have always liked Luigis food. We go there two or three times a month for take out and normally don't have any issues except for tonight. We ordered a baked ziti with side salad and a Luigis's salad with Italian dressing. The ziti also comes with garlic bread. The issues are the garlic bread was stale! Never had that happen before. The side salad wasn't included. The Italian dressing was put in a container that wasn't sealed and spilled over everything. Also it was requested that no onions in the salad but was told that they don't put onions in salad so that meant she didn't tell someone No Onions! Guess what? Onions in the salad.
