Big open floor on the inside. There is a separate area with 3 pool tables and an outside bar garden with horseshoe pits. They have a very large menu - where everything looked good!! I went with the garlic shrimp appetizer followed by a filet w/ side salad and fully loaded baked potato. I can't upload all the photos but it was all sooo good. Very home cooked vibe in a bar- I enjoy that!! Reminds me of good ol' days. Staff is friendly and works together so eventually all bartender/servers will make their way to you. I'll be back to try some more off their menu and shoot some pool or toss shoes. read more

Stopped in for an early dinner. Cheap beer and afternoon karaoke for the older crowd. Ordered the Ribeye Steak diner. Obviously the waitress understood the intent when I ordered my steak very, very rare. Would probably become a frequent patron if we lived in the area. read more

We eat here often. They have the best pizza in the area. But every meal has been great. We got reservations for Saturday. We reserved the prime rib and wow was it good. It came with a huge delicious salad. Bake potato loaded. The horse radish is the best. My wife got the patty melt and onion straws . It was good and the straws are a must appetizer. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The older woman with blonde hair is a B*tch and treated us as pest as soon as we walked in... The appetizers were super late and the only decent food we had was the Tostitos salsa and stale chips swimming in oil.... We ordered a burger medium and got well... well done. The calamari was rubbery & chewy. The mozzarella sticks were like raw cheese sticks.. the "fresh blackened grouper" sandwich was 110% frozen and taste like fish sticks. The siracha wrap would be better if a kid made it .. basic A$$ chewy chicken .. . When we asked to speak to a manager the older blonde women said " what do you want" we replied "to speak to a manager" she replied again "what do you want" after all of that we still had to pay for our disgusting appetizers and crappy drinks. 10/10 do not recommend , folks do not waste your hard earned money at this "establishment". read more

Service was so slow. Nobody came back to check on the food. And let me say... my burger was tasty but the salad was warm, lettuce wilted and the ranch dressing had the consistency of water. I didn't take a single bite of the salad. Cole slaw had a strange flavor. Hubby had the chips and there were some that were still pretty raw. Daughter had Philly cheesesteak and that was rubbery and bland. For a restaurant that wasn't that busy we were there over an hour. Not worth the $50 for 3 people. Be prepared, this 100% a local dive bar and we loved every minute of it. We went on the way home from scalloping. This is a dump, worthless, low class experience. On August 31st at 3 pm we entered. The waitress knows nothing of her job and let me explain. We had 11 people with 5 separate checks. My wife, daughter, and I ordered our drinks and appetizer along with everyone else. My wife's water and my daughters coke never made it to the table when everyone else's did and my drink was left with a family member across the table. I did not know that was mine. My brother said hey that's your drink, so I had to reach over at an angle to pick up my drink. Then I received the fried calamari and it was as rubbery as a tire and that because its old product not fresh. Now two of the parties food shown up and I ordered another drink. The parties that received their food were half way done and I had to stop the waitress and ask her what happened to my drink. She was disheveled and return with my drink and gave it to the person next to me and had to reach over to get it again. We still have not received our food as the other members were finishing up. As the waitress was wondering around I had to again ask her to check on our food and she came back and said it was still going to be a couple of minutes. We just had simple orders like the first two parties ordered. So that was it after 40 minutes of waiting and watching other people at our party finish up their meals we had enough. We told them we are leaving. We got up and walked out. Terrible service, worthless management, and unsupervised cooks as well. So we have been in Homosassa for a while and finally today was the day we decided to try grumpy gators, based on recommendations from friends and reading the reviews, and also craving pizza. Everything was amazing. We are so silly we ordered that sampler appetizer platter and it is literally enough for seven people. I found it a little bit salty but it is definitely worth every penny you pay for it. I am giving it to the neighbors lol! I ordered the patty melt and salad bar and a half order of french fries because I heard I had to try them from a friend. The french fries are actually house cut potatoes and how amazing it was to get house cut fries that weren't greasy or salty. They were really great. My patty melt was probably one of the best I have ever had in my life, my husband loved the pizza. My only feedback on the salad bar would be to cut the lettuce up a little bit, it was big enough lettuce pieces to make lettuce wraps with the salad bar toppings . I just used my knife for it. If you like average bar food, country music karaoke and dive bars where the median age is 60, then this is the place for you! I think my biggest gripe with this place was the nachos that I ordered. The description on the menu stated that they're topped with, amongst other things, taco meat. I'm sorry, but you can't Brown up ground beef with salt and pepper, pour it on the nachos, Greece and all, and call it taco meat. Moreover, all of the chips on the bottom of the dish were absolutely dry. The portion was large though. Easily the largest nachos I havr ever seen in my entire life. It was enough for 4 people to split and walk away satisfied. No joke. However, that does not excuse the dry chips and the unseasoned ground beef crumbles. The staff was very friendly and the bathroom was extremely clean, and that's the only saving grace for this place. read more

Sampler Platter was a basket of fried things that were fun to figure out. They have a "lite" burger without the bun if you're watching your carbs. They live up to their "Grumpy" name. Not recommend for anyone that wants to enjoy themselves. my friends and I were there for just a few minutes when We were asked to leave because we were being too loud. it's a bar for God's sake not a library or church. The owner Jamie works very hard herself at the restaurant I noticed the owner goes around and talks to the customers, And the cooks which they said our Corey and Josh do an excellent job the food is outstanding! Drink prices are moderate if you drink wells... $2 bloody marys on Sundays though, and breakfast too! Taco wrap was delicious. Service has definitely improved. Friday night karaoke is wall to wall jamming! Sat night prime rib special is back and a deliciously juicy cut of meat. Make reservations for dinners specials and or specialty meals just in case to ensure they don't sell out before you get there. Grumpy's is Family friendly restaurant/bar and the owner works right along side with the employees which is nice to see. I believe happy hour is m-f 3 til 7. Portions are large and filling.
