Best wings I've had in a long time! They were perfectly fried and if you're like me that makes a a huge difference. We ordered medium and boom boom, I honestly can't decide which one I like more. Anthony was our server and he was great at giving us some advice coming in for our first visit. We also ordered the macho nachos and the fried cauliflower. Our server was very good. Depends on what you order as to whether the food is good. I've had the French dip and it was very tasty, although it definitely could have had more meat. The next time I went I had the calamari...terrible...no flavor, no seasoning, (it should at least taste like calamari!) out of the freezer bag into the grease, plus is was $14 for a small portion. The 3 pieces that had the little tentacles ( my favorite) were nearly burnt. I don't know what the dip was, it said Thai chili sauce, not like I've ever had. Doubt I'll be back. While visiting Brooksville for a disc golf tournament, my friends and I were hunting some grub and beer late in the evening. After much debate, we settled on Coach's in Inverness. This town looked dead until we spotted Coach's. Coach's is definitely the happening place in town! There are like somewhere between 50 - 100 TVs in this joint. The menu is quite extensive with sandwiches, BBQ, burgers, steak, and wings. I went with onion rings for an appetizer, and my buddies went with duck fingers and crab Jalepeno poppers. I definitely chose the best out of the three, though there was nothing special about the onion rings. I hate crab so that made the crab Jalepeno poppers gag-able for me and the duck fingers were just weird and kind of tough. I may have struck out on the appetizers but the burger sure did make up for it. I chose the Texas Burger. It came with a 1/2 lb. Angus Beef patty with pimento cheese, bourbon BBQ sauce, and bacon. The burger was more than fulfilling. It had a wonderful fresh made patty taste. I asked for 2 additional BBQ sauces on the side: Chipotle BBQ and Everglades Moppin Sauce. I could not get enough of the Everglades Moppin Sauce with a sweet citrus/mustard taste. The burger came with fries and slaw. Sweet tea was more like half and half than sweet tea but it sufficed. There are specials every day. The atmosphere and the burgers make Coach's a solid 4 stars for me. read more

Coaches is a decent sports pub located in the heart of downtown Inverness. Parking is tricky because it's very limited and even though there's handicap parking out front, the handicap ramp is located on the side road! Outside is very cluttered with outdoor tables making people weave through the tables and chairs to get to the front door. Inside is the usual sports bar decor we've all come to expect. Looked clean with no dirty tables or floors. Lots of t.v.s on the walls varying in size plus posters of different beers and drinks. One room has tables and chairs and booths while the other room offers pool tables, some tables and the bar. We've been to Coaches twice, the first time our waitress was a little aloof- in a hurry and no smiles for her customers. Maybe because we're not drinkers. Our second visit we fared much better with our waitress who was very sweet and attentive to our needs. We went on a Thursday evening both times for their Thursday special of All you can eat peel and eat shrimp for $13.99. Sprinkled with Old Bay spice- no sides come with the shrimp special. If you want sides like fries and cole slaw there's an extra charge. During our first visit we ordered the fried cauliflower bites. They were just okay, we were a little disappointed in their bland flavor that even the dip couldn't salvage. On our second visit we opted for the fried conch fritters. Again, disappointed. Flavor was there but they were not cooked to a crispy brown consistency- no crunch. Sauce was a honey mustard which was good. The first time our shrimp were absolutely scrumptious. Cooked to perfection- not undercooked or overcooked. Hot, buttery and spicy - so good!! The second visit they were a complete disappointment! Overcooked to the point that some were of baby food mush consistency - we told our waitress who was embarrassed and apologized and told the cook. Yet our subsequent shrimp dishes continued to arrive in the same fashion. Few were firm but most were inedible! My husband upon leaving spoke to the manager who was very nice and apologetic and compensated us for the lousy food. We felt so bad for our sweet waitress that we generously tipped her for her excellent service and her several attempts to fix the problem. Will we go back? Yes, we will! They have a very large menu with some unique food offerings. Every restaurant can have a "bad night" it's how their shortcomings are handled that makes a world of difference if they will receive any chance from us to come back and judge if they do better. The manager said if there was something we would like to eat he would certainly make it to our dietary restrictions! Now that's putting a customer's needs first! Let me start by saying the food was really good. That might be the only reason we may consider coming back. Now for the service. It was not at all good. We had Brooke as our server. So she comes to get our order, however we had a couple questions. My Mom is HIGHLY allergic to onions and spicy seasonings. We asked if the crab cakes had onions, she said she didn't know. Then she finally says she will ask. Well she asked another waitress who didn't know. I asked Brooke if she could ask the cook. She rolls her eyes and say yeah I guess. She comes back and tells us it has onions. That was fine, just order something else. She proceeded to tell us, "Sorry the waitresses are not told anything about the menu, or how things are made." Then we order. My Mom gets the blackened Mahi sandwich with no season, just salt and pepper. I ordered the Pepper Jack Salmon with the rosemary red potatos no onions just the peppers. Doesn't seem like that would be too much of an adjustment on the food to cause an issue. Well after about 25 mins we asked if she knew how much longer. She says I don't know probably a few minutes. We had asked because we saw 2 other tables that were seated after we placed our order and received their food before we did.. She comes out about 10 minutes later with the food. Again the food was good and hot. I said something about rosemary red potatoes looked more like just homefries, Brooke says well yeah that's what they call them, but its just homefries. This is my first time in the downtown area of Inverness. Came in to Coach's to have dinner and drinks. They have a bunch of tvs playing just about every football game on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great. Family friendly place. They have 2 sections and it gets packed. We got there in the nick of time because as soon as we sat down a wave of people came on in. I ordered the philly cheese steak with fries. It was hot and juicy. My S.O got the Brisket Burger. Which was HUGE to say the least but boy was it good. It was one of those burgers that once you pick up you can't put it down lol. Needless to say he enjoyed it. My In-laws got a mango salad and jalapeño poppers. Both of which were great. Any night out with my Fab Fiancée is likely to be grand! We love seeking out new places to eat good food and meet new friends. This was our first visit to Coach's. The Inverness downtown area is pretty cool, quaint and cozy. We liked that. Coach's is easy to find, parking was a little more difficult but not a problem. We started out our Coach's game with a little Pep Talk by way of the Fried Cauliflower appetizer. What the menu says you get is 'Cauliflower Florets Coated with Japanese Style Bread Crumbs and Cheddar Cheese. Served with Melted Butter and Parmesan Cheese'. We expected to get some gooey good melted Cheddar drizzled over the top with a fine dipping sauce of butter and Parmesan. What we got was simply fried breaded Cauliflower, a mound of unmelted shredded Cheddar cheese next to a small cup of melted butter and another separate small mound of Parmesan. Hmmmmmmm, we were surprised. So, we tried every way possible of dipping sequences into the butter first, then into the Parmesan, etc. We DID NOT care for these. They lacked any real taste, the Cheddar doesn't melt sufficiently to infuse any flavor into the vegetable. It was just weird. Thumbs down here. Because of a delay Candace, our server, brought us a cup of the Loaded Baked Potato Soup! This was absolutely delicious! Creamy good with tons and tons of flavor! YES!!!! I then ordered the Philly Cheese Steak, which the menu touts as 'Our Top Seller!'. It was okay, but nothing special. Having enjoyed Philly sandwiches from Philadelphia to every place in between, I've had delicious Phillies! The idea of a good Philly is to let that perfectly melting and plentiful gob of Swiss Cheese ooze down, around and over every bit of the flat top cooked onions, mushrooms and green peppers. The combination of the carmelized onions, the sauteed peppers and onions makes for a taste note that would ring The Liberty Bell! My sandwich was that little handlebar bell on a 3 year old's training wheel bicycle. Ding! Next.... Fab One ordered the Montreal Sirloin, at $15.99 Again, the menu states 'Fresh Extra Thick Cut 10 Ounce Sirloin Topped with Zesty Spices. A Local Favorite!'. Her sirloin was cooked perfectly Med Rare, as ordered. However, she felt that ALL she TASTED was the Montreal seasoning! The taste of the meat was overwhelmed by the pepper, salt and other Montreal spices. It was mostly WAY TOO SALTY. We 'could' have asked for a re-do on our items, sure. But we did not. Partly because I don't like to chance kitchen revenge(NOT saying Coach's would do that!). But also because we really liked our bar server Candace. She was on the ball with refills and attending to our needs. We did have fun talking with other patrons, playing some of the bar games including the swinging ball on the hook! We may drop in again when in the area, to try some other menu items. read more

Coach's is actually a place that my family likes to frequent because of its amazing specials and laid back atmosphere. But tonight's experience was disappointing on the management side of things. Up until this outing to Coach's the staff has been wearing masks and my families safety during Covid was never in question. This time no employee's were wearing masks and when asked it was stated that it was not required. For this reason alone I will NOT go back until customer safety is the first priority. The service from our server was amazing as usual. I have no complaints there. But our food was even less than subpar. The all you can eat shrimp first came out underdone, then came out overdone, and on our final attempt they were still squishy. We asked to speak to a manager but they never came out. They comped an order of shrimp but that wasn't what we were looking for. We simply wanted to give some helpful feedback because this was a place we enjoy to frequent. The fact that they didn't even come to the table made us feel dismissed or unimportant. I hope that their Covid standards improve and that management takes more ownership in the safety, quality and treatment of its customers. It turned out Coaches is one of the largest and best non chain bar and grills I've been to! Everything you could want is right here. Two rooms of food, alcohol, TV's and games. The food menu is extensive and the bar food menu is crazy cheap. We shared the sloppy joe and double cheeseburger platters: excellent! I was thrilled to see Everglades Seasoning on every table which means they know what they're doing! Their 3 bars can serve up any drinks in no time at all. Even when they have a packed house. It does get packed at night and when there's a sports game on you'd better get there early. Take your pick of one of maybe 30 TV's to watch that are spread out all around the business. The décor is an ode to S. Florida. Parrot Heads unite here as well as fans of all the S. Florida teams.
