My son and I had lunch at Rocco's today. It was absolutely amazing. Fried mushrooms over their incredible fried spinach for an appetizer. My son had the a veal parmesan and I chose the veggie pizza. Our waitress, "Cierra" suggested her favorite sauce for my pizza instead of the usual. Being that she is Italian, I trusted she new how to make an amazing pizza. Wow! I made the right decision. Cierra's pizza was delicious. I have to say I have never been disappointed at Rocco's but today's pizza was the best I ever had. Cierra's sauce was so much better than the usual Ranch sauce. Pizza was ok had a good flavor crust but it was not crispy so not cooked enough with way too much cheese, never thought I would ever say that but there was too much cheese making it very heavy and floppy. The fettuccine Alfredo was horrible just tasted like white gravy with no seasonings. The chicken piccata was not crispy and the sauce was very runny. The service was ok but I was a little perturbed because we walked in. There was no one in the restaurant. It was about 1230 and she said you can sit anywhere you want so I looked around and I picked a table for six when we only had four only because it gave us more room and there were no other customers in the restaurant when I asked if we could sit there she said no that should be kept for bigger parties when they come in now mind you they were not knocked on the doors down the entire time we were there. There were no other customers and we were there a good hour and 15 minutes right at the end two people came in, but really I was pretty disappointed that she did not accommodate us. Clean restaurant. A year or so ago..pizza was decent....a dinner item could be found that was actually fair but now it has has gone from decent adequate sustenance to pure unadulterated garbage....Tonight was the LAST straw...not only did the sausage penne dinner...NOT have ricotta cheese as advertised it had basically 15 pieces of penne. I brought some friends here tonight and it was amazing! Adorable atmosphere and excellent service too! Drinks ordered were taken promptly and then we placed our order..we smelled the delicious aroma of fresh baked Bread which was served to us right away and it was delicious...our meals were served with Salads and side of Pasta ..Chicken. Parm. ,Lasagne and Chicken Franchese was ordered. As well as a Personal Pizza....the Pizza was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious...we did not need the Pizza but wanted to try it for our next visit...They loved the Lasagne and the Chicken Parm and the portions were very generous...I had the Chicken Franchese which was served fresh and hot and was one of the best I have had...served with side of Pasta which was o.k..and the delicious Caesar Salad was nice and fresh...delicious and if you have not been here you are missing out! We came in right at 11am and was greated by the Owner. We ordered the 2 personal pizzas buy one get one. New Owner so first time in and we were not disappointed I am a Pizza snob and must say the sauce was fresh and tasty, the crust had the best crunch!!! I had pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions. Wow!! We've been here a few times since they changed owners with mixed results. Six of us decided to give it another try and thankfully were not disappointed this time. The main dining room is small but attractive although the ladies were cold. We had (2) Chick Parms, (1) Veal Parm, (1) Eggplant Parm, (1) Chick Francese, & (1) Personal Pizza. Everyone said their meal was good to very good. Everything was hot enough and mostly flavorful although one said their chick parm was a little bland. The two chick parms were happy because they don't like chunks of tomato in their sauce and this sauce was smooth. One strange/minor issue was that four of us wanted penne or ziti with our meal, but they only had linguini, angel hair or fettucine. Meals came with "plain Jane" bread which seemed to have been heated in a microwave. A nice oven warmed Italian bread would have been better. A small Caesar or mixed greens salad was also included. Our server (Ruth) was very personable and attentive, and handled one or two change requests easily. Prices were $23 for the chicken dishes which seems to be reasonable these days for a good meal. I think the veal was only $1 or $2 more. The drinks were a little expensive...$9 for a small glass of routine Malbec, and $13 for a good size glass of red or white Sangria. we went there today for our friends birthday. it wasn't that busy when we got there. there were four of us. wine was way overpriced. the other three all got their food. I waited and waited. finally got someone's attention to ask where my dinner was. all I ordered was fettuccine Alfredo. by the time I got my food everybody else was done eating. food was average at best. I took a few bites and took the rest home. we will definitely not be going back there. they did not charge me for the dinner. they were going to give me a discount but I commented I shouldn't have to pay for it at all, so I wasn't charged. what a hassle. read more

Order to pick up dinner, chicken Marsala and a veal Marsala Ultimately, the worst food I ever had they forgot to put the salads in with the order so we had to go back and get them, and the salads were just as disgusting spinach with the stem still left on it really terrible as though they took it straight out of the bag and never rinse it or washed it And tomatoes were hard as rocks. I'm from up north, Rocco's Italian food and pizza are a lot like I'm used to. The service is excellent and the people are friendly.

My wife and I joined another couple for dinner on Saturday, February 8th. Sabrina was our server and she is sweet and courteous. I ordered the linguine and clams and my wife ordered eggplant parmigiana. My dish came in a small pot. I make linguine and clams myself so I know how it's done. I noticed my dish was very soupy meaning a lot of what looked broth not sauce. It was mostly broth and some of the clams seemed undercooked. Actually, only 5-6 clams which is not much. My wife's dish was not done well either. Her eggplant was not breaded (or lightly breaded) and served over pasta and soggy with sauce poured over the top. We ate our dinners and tipped generously. However I woke up this morning feeling sick. I'm certain it was from undercooked clams and sauce/broth. We had looked forward to our dinner but after this experience, we would not return. read more

This is a bit of a tough one. Hello, friends. It's a Rocco's Restaurant Review from "The Restaurant Guy" .. former owner of The Chart Room in Cincinnati Ohio. My wife and I enjoyed the old style restaurant ambience of this establishment. And the menu was interesting with some old standards and some definitely new chef created dishes. And we must keep in mind that it's not really advertised as a restaurant but as a "pizza and café" place. I'm not giving it a very high rating because of a few things. The service was OK, acceptable. The neatness and comfort of the place was good. The menu was a bit pricey for a pizza and Café establishment. And we were very disappointed that there was nothing served before the meal. No bread, no crackers .. nothing. And, lastly, our meal was "okay". Nothing great or nothing to rave about in this review or to recommend to others. Basically, I would say that it really is just another pizza place .. albeit a nicer one and a more costly one. Maybe direct competition to Brother's. It is right down the street. I think both places are too pricey for a pizza that is "good" at best. Take your pick. Everything has gotten too expensive when eating out these days. That's why I expect more. Bon a petite. Month later , gave it another try .... The food taste good but that's where it ends . $30 for stuffed grouper that could fit in my palm . They were running a special at the restaurant but I had to go maybe there was a mistake . I was asked what salads I wanted and never received them , that's my fault for not checking before I left. I enjoyed the Sicilian pizza very much, the first time I went there. The second time was terrible. We didn't order pizza, I ordered lasagna and it was such a small piece. Plus, I could've made that lasagna and it would've been better. We also got chicken florentine and that was nothing to be excited about. Also an order of calamari. 2 small glasses of wine and two miller light bottles. $113 plus tip. I won't be back. Rocco's doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's actually quite nice inside. Very old school, authentic vibe. Food was actually pretty good and our server was very sweet and handled "being in the weeds" quite well. Chicken piccata was a tad too lemon flavored for my liking, but chicken was tender and overall very good. My main complaint would be on witnessing the salad being made. I know they are short of help, but cleanliness is never anything that should be sacrificed. Our server didn't use tongs or gloves or wash her hands when making salads. Even after handling money, dirty dishes, door knobs...etc. unfortunately we had to turn the salads away when they came to the table after witnessing. We may go back one day. My husband loved the pizza that much! But we probably won't be ordering salads. read more

I love Italian food. I've had it all over the world. Rocco's however is NOT the place to look for good Italian food. At best it was mediocre. The "Baked Ziti" wasn't baked. Looked like Ziti noodles either a slice of mozzarella thrown on top before being microwaved and topped with Ragu. The Bruschetta was ice box cold and service was slow. Paid $30 for their shit version of Ossobuco. Made with pork instead of veal, the pork was dry and extremely fatty, left a horrible taste in my mouth. The sauce was tasteless and filled with frozen peas and carrots. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We also ordered a pizza and picked 3 toppings. We absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. We had wanted to try it for a very long time. Finally did and it was not at all a disappointment. The wait staff was extremely attentive , made sure we had everything we needed for our meal. We loved them all no matter who you waitress / waiter they all seem to make sure all is well for your dinner experience. Food was amazing we had Veal Marsala and a Pasta dish with shrimp oh my Lord amazing!!!! The cafe was immaculate, clean and well maintained. Have been three or four times with good food and experience but they blew it all Saturday 11/12/22. Waited about 30 minutes for our 3 orders. Shared a pizza which should have been 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 Magarerita. Instead we got pepperoni and tomatoes on the entire pizza. The other two in our party received the wrong orders but graciously accepted them so they would not be thrown away. So three order all incorrect. When we received the bill and complained the owner still charged our friends for the more expensive incorrect order rather than for what they ordered. He would do nothing for any of the three incorrect dishes. Never going back. read more

Service has dropped over the years but I'm still a fan We were in Crystal River two weeks ago for a wedding. We used to go to Crystal River every year but for some reason, it's been almost three years since we have been there. Rocco's was always one of favorites and it was a must visit on this trip as well. From our visit, it is apparent the level of service has diminished. We were not acknowledged when we walt it the door. A young lady from behind the bar yelled out to seat ourselves but that said, we were intersepted before we found a table and quided to one. Throughout the evening, there were long intervals where no one was checking to see if we needed anything such as refills on tea, coffee etc. They have a very extensive menu with a lot of offerings which would almost appear that they are off of Mulberry St in Little Italy in New York. We started with an order of Mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and from a culinary standpoint, the only disappointment in an otherwise extraordinary meal. Very rubbery and cold on the inside with a texture that reminds one of the process cheese mozzarella stick in the dairy case at the local grocery. Marinara sauce was excellent however. My wife ordered Veal Francese as her entree and I ordered Rocco's Veal Milanese. Both were excellent. I was impressed by the vibrant combination of fresh tomatoe and herbs that made the dish explode with flavor and intensity. Portions are hugh and ended up taking some back with us for a midnight snack. They do have live entertainment on occassion and that was the case the night we were there. Proved to be an excellent instrumentalist but the vocals were a bit weak and flat and the music did not add anything to the dining experience. I realize that restaurants can have bad days in terms of service and I'm willing to give them another shot. In the meantime, they are still a favorite. If the service was up to the standards it was a couple of years ago, they would have gotten the fifth star. read more

Ordered two Chicken Caesars off their menu for $12.99 each. We were charged $33 for the order. When we asked about the price a Rude Old Man came out and said it was a misprint on the menu and if we didn't like it, don't come back ! Don't worry, we won't !
