Went here for a birthday treat today and enjoyed my lunch so much that I just had to review. We were greeted and seated immediately, and served hot home made bread, it was so good. My sister got pasta with a hearty meat sauce and lots of cheese. I started with these pepperoni pin wheels, so yummy and I had the steak sandwich with peppers & onions, the roll was nice and toasted not soggy like some other places the peppers and onions were cooked perfectly and they didn't skimp on the steak. I got a complimentary cannoli for my birthday plus we had the Spumoni that was good also. I have had take out pizza from here which is the finest I have had This is a lovely , quiet and comfortable environment we loved the ambiance of it all. Wow, what an experience... and not in a good way. I believe the place is called Stinky Rose or Mariana's--either way, I won't be back. To start with the positives: our server was kind, attentive, and clearly trying his best. The pizza itself was actually pretty good--I'd give it an 8/10. Unfortunately, everything else completely missed the mark. A spider literally ran across a slice of pizza at our table (this wasn't even a full pie--just a $4 slice). When we asked to speak with a manager, the owner came over and immediately acted like we were making it up. There was no apology, no concern, and no effort to make the situation right. She simply said, "oh... really, okay," picked up the plate, and walked away. There was no follow-up or resolution, and we were later brought a bill that still included the slice. We even tried to locate the spider to show we weren't lying--that's how dismissive the interaction felt. When I asked the owner whether she intended to still charge for the slice she had taken, she responded while walking away, "Do you want that or it taken off?" The tone and attitude were dismissive and unprofessional. At that point, it wasn't even about the slice--it was the complete lack of basic customer service. Had the situation been handled with even minimal professionalism, we likely would have paid and left without issue. On top of that, the seafood linguini was disappointing--no flavor, no garlic, very small portions of seafood that tasted frozen, and empty clam shells. Overall: * Pizza: good * Server: great * Owner: very poor experience * Food (outside of pizza): disappointing The rest of the staff was friendly, and it seems like this place has potential. We had heard good things about the pizza and made the drive to try it, which makes the experience even more disappointing. With some improvements--especially in how issues are handled--it could be a much better experience. I would not return and will be choosing other Italian options moving forward. read more

Let me put it this way: if you are not particular about authentic Italian cuisine and a fine quality meal, then you'll be pleased. The service was fine, the staff was friendly, and the rest of my guests enjoyed their meal. I did not. The Italian wedding soup did not resemble anything like the real thing. The broth was like a slurry and not the clear soup it is supposed to be. I ordered baked ravioli which were crammed into a tiny dish. What they called tomato sauce was unrecognizable and the cheese was burned. Once I carved through the pile and got to the ravioli they were tasty, but hardly pleasing. All in all, I would have been better going to Olive Garden which I strictly avoid. My friends enjoyed their meal, but as an Italian who is used to fine quality Italian food, this left much to be desired. read more

Im so glad that Olive Garden pissed me off. If they hadn't, I would never have found Mariana's! What a gem! The Pasta Fagolie soup is by far the BEST I've ever eaten, the bread.is fresh and hot when it comes to your table the oil presentation was nice too! I had to decide wether I wanted pizza or chicken parmesan, i went with the chicken but subbed out the marinara with Alfredo which was absolutely delightful. The portion size i had was very large, 3 pounded breasts atop some nice fettuccine. I was happy to tale home leftovers and just had them a few minutes ago. Just bought home a pizza from Marianna's in hernando. Ordered a medium extreme meat but requested the bacon be replaced with mushrooms. Not only were there no mushrooms but we were charged an additional $3.00 for the nonexistent mushrooms tried to call the restaurant but they are not taking calls and the mailbox is not set up for messages. The pizza was mediocre at best. What a rip and disappointment. We won't be returning to Mariana's anytime in the future read more

Visiting from away a group of 4 of us came for dinner on a Friday evening. Reservations were made to secure us a table. While dining we saw why, so many people coming in waiting for a table or seeing how busy and walking out. Over heard the wait to be a half an hour which I didn't think was bad. Waitress came a few minutes after we sat and apologized for the wait, she had three tables sat at once. We never would have noticed. Took our drink order while we looked at the menu and gave us warm bread with dipping herb infused olive oil, in a heart decor small bowl, nice touch. We all knew what we wanted and were ready for her hand she returned. I got the seafood pasta special with mussels, clams, and shrimp in your choice or a red or white sauce. I chose white wine and garlic sauce for mine. We enjoyed each other's company and before we knew it, our food arrived. Hot and with nice sized portions. Everyone really enjoyed the food, no boxes needed since we all finished our meals. Bill was very reasonable. Two days later, we did take away for the Super Bowl! Cheese pizza, spinach pinwheels, and a cannoli for dessert. The pizza had large slices, pinwheels were huge and the cannoli I heard was tasty. We used to order from here at least once a month, but after multiple issues over time, we just gave up. We like to support local businesses. They used to offer delivery (from an employee), which made it very convenient. Then, delivery wasn't available for a while. They encourage you to order via the Slice app, which can be cool because you earn points towards free pizza. However, one of the last times I ordered delivery, it was delivered by Uber Eats and I think I had to pay more. Anyway, the food is good but ordering can be a hassle. The last time I ordered, I had an issue and the manager told me to call in from now on. Like I said, it's been quite a while so I decided to give it another try. I was going to call in my order but the website tells you to order online because it's faster. So, I did. One of the items was a broccoli roll and in the notes, I said "no onions, please". I went to pick up our dinner and asked if the broccoli roll had no onion. Apparently, they missed my note because the hostess verified it in front of me. They made a new one and let me have the incorrect one. But I still had to wait, which was aggravating. And, to top it off, the broccoli is raw. The roll is a good concept, but raw broccoli can tear up a stomach. It would be nice if they sautéed or even steamed it before adding it to a nice, doughy, cheesy roll. I will say they make it right when things go wrong, but things going wrong seems to be the rule rather than the exception. I also wish they'd make it easier to order, whether online or via the Slice app or over the phone. If I had talked to someone on the phone, I would have gotten the right thing the first time. read more

Do not confuse this place as a "restaurant". Yes you can sit at a table and the waitress will serve you but it's still a pizzeria with decent pizza and average Italian fare. Our order of shrimp fra Diavolo was requested to be not too spicy and came out extra spicy to a fault. ( this coming from someone who shakes crushed red pepper or hot sauce on everything. Linguine with white clam sauce was definitely underwhelming. Very good service & I still order pizza from them and might try a sandwich next time instead of a " dish ". Food is very good. But one server for the whole restaurant is ridiculous. She was doing her best and we tried to remain patient, but after a while, it was just too much. The owner should be ashamed at the way the restaurant was so understaffed. We have been regular customers for years, but will seriously consider returning there in the future. I have to send a big thank you to the crew at Mariana's for coming through in the clutch during a time of need. We had a family member pass away over in Beverly Hills & wanted to send food as we were unable to make it down for the funeral. Apparently things down south aren't the same as they are here in NY where basically every Pizza/Italian spot offers catering trays of their pastas & entrees. Most places we called had no idea what we were even talking about. Thankfully we stumbled across these guys and they were more than happy to take care of everything we needed. We're told that they sent enough food to feed an army and that everything was outstanding. My mother in law couldn't stop raving about their bread! Ryan really is the best waiter. I finished my iced tea, he got me a new one within 10 seconds. Salad was great, their blue cheese is divine. Chicken Parmesan is delicious. They make it really well here. My husband got eggplant Parmesan. It was very good. Altogether we recommend this place and come back all the time you should too. read more

I'm not a big fan of having any type of food delivered, as if it's wrong, or if you need to send it back, you're out of luck. But Mariana's met my order dead on. 8-) The salad with the house dressing was delicious. The lettuce crisp and the tomato and cucumber fresh. My only complaint here, was that the 3 slices of tomatoes, were 3 different thicknesses. The bread with the seasoned olive oil was wonderful. However, because I inadvertently ordered an extra hole loaf, the SOO was put in a larger container, and most of the spices sank to the bottom. So I had to stir It up. The chicken piccata was absolutely scrumptious. However, the menu states, "medallions of chicken". But, as you can see by the picture, it was either pressed or pounded chicken breast. Still, it was out of this world. Even with the few issues above, I still would have given them 5 stars. So why only 4, then? A couple of reasons; I called at 4 for an early dinner, but they don't start delivery until 5 (not mention on the menu). But the biggest reason; no plasticware or napkins! I sure am glad I brought some with me on my trip. But, using facial tissue in lieu of a sturdy napkin... Since I'm here only for 3 days, I don't think I'll be going back. This was a Yelp special because I don't recall traveling through Beverly Hills, Florida, or Hernando, whichever it is, before and this place had some seriously good reviews. I'm a huge fan of Italian food, as a matter of fact, I cooked Italian for my sweetheart on our first official date and have been serving up to her for over 43 years. In addition, I have dined in Italian neighborhoods around the US and abroad and I'm a pretty good Italian cuisine while this may not strictly be wholly authentic is some of the best I've had that wasn't cooked by someone's nonna. This was my first time here and on our way to the manatee festival and swimming with them too and I'm glad I found this place. It's located on a very busy thoroughfare in a shopping center tucked away in a corner. The interior isn't fancy, but comfortable, it isn't huge but what space they had was pretty busy so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat. We were called, pleasantly greeted, and were seated and the service was excellent throughout our delightful dining experience. We started out with the "Sautéed Mussels" which were described as sweet mussels, fresh basil, and garlic with a choice of marinara or white wine sauce. We went with the white wine and when they arrived they looked great and perfectly cooked. Taste? I cannot remember the last time that I've tasted any better steamed mussels, they were really terrific! Mind you that my honey regularly picked our own mussels, and periwinkles, that I would cook myself and I was very impressed with the person that cooked these, great start indeed. For the main courses, my sweetheart got the "Seafood Fra Diavolo" which was shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, calamari sautéed in a spicy marinara sauce served over linguini topped with shaved parmigiana, which was nicely presented and she thoroughly enjoyed. I treated myself to "Veal Parmigiana" which was tender veal breaded and fried topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese with pasta of my choice, I chose spaghetti. I'm a huge chic parm guy but in the area, where I live, veal is pretty rare so hence the treat. It was tasty indeed but not the best I've had but I've had a lot of nonna-cooked veal so there's that. The pasta was cooked just right, the sauce was spot on and the veal was prepped and cooked great. We were way too full for dessert but the Tiramisu, Limoncello Flute. Cannolis, Spumoni, and Limoncello Cake were screaming my name!! LOL I had read about their outstanding pizza and they're a part of the Slice network of pizzerias so while I was dining I just had to grab a pie to go. I used my Slice app and ordered up the "4 SEASONS". It's cut in 8 slices with 2 slices, peppers, onions, mushrooms 2 slices - spinach, tomato, and green olives, 2 slices - pepperoni and sausage, and 2 slices of cheese! When we arrived at the Airbnb to meet our daughter and company we tossed it in the oven to warm and yep, it was a legit delish pizza. The crust was fresh and baked just right with a nice sauce, toppings, and cheeses, we enjoyed it!!! Ah! The unmistakable pungency of a Stinky Rose. Garlic, that is. It's said that the first to call garlic by that name were the Romans. What's another famous Roman credit? 'When in Rome do as the Romans do'. Following that logic, our motto for this visit would be 'When in Hernando do as the Hernandoans do'! Our roamin' chariot carried us from Brooksville, along the Forest Ridge to the parapet of Mariana's parking lot. We were cheerfully greeted and seated at a cozy table. La famiglia on this feast quest consisted of yours truly, my Fab One and her two adorable granddaughters. This would be our second visit, but second to none! Let's dig right in to the food, il cibo! Ladies first, granddaughter #1 chose Gnocchi, the dainty little potato dumplings with the funny name. Gnocchi, topped with a fresh and herby marinara, along with a side choice of Pasta Fagioli soup, all we saw was a lot of spooning! And smiling. Granddaughter #2 chose a Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. What an interesting combination, but rightly so for a 13 year old! She was artfully intrigued by the composition of crust laid before her. For this occasional picky eater, we happily watched as she savored each slice! My Fab One? Oh, it's so hard to please her(I should know?) ...she's a gourmet cook. LOL She opted for a Margherita pizza, with a twist. In addition to the Margherita sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and tomatoes she had them add some spinach. We heard no rants from the kitchen on this request. Instead, they delivered a perfect piping hot pizza pie! I tried some, it was deliziosa! And now, what did I order? The time tested stamp in my passport of Italian food is lasagna. You lay a luscious lasagna in front of me and I'll call your mama long distance to brag about your cooking prowess! WHERE'S MY PHONE? The lasagna, a la Stinky Rose, brought tears of joy to my elated eyes! This multi-layered meaty marinara, ricotta and pecorino romano masterpiece melted my heart, much like the mozzarella on top. As I dug into this molten cheesy Vesuvius, each trip to my lips was a gloriously inhaled bite! I used up the last bit of our bread to sop up and mop up. All of these great 'flavorites' were presented to us by the incomparable April. She was there when we needed anything. Service was perfect. So here we are, at the end of my review. (Yay?) The absolute worst Italian food I have ever eaten. I wouldn't bring my dog here,They need to learn. First, and how to make sauce that's the basis of a good Italian restaurant. Their have been times the quality of the wait staff has been less then ideal, but this restaurant takes complaints into serious consideration. For example, the last three times we were there, we had a waitress that was not friendly, did not introduce herself and was very cold to us. She did not acknowledge us when we needed refills, another waitress gave us or der and refilled our drinks, etc. She was the exact same way when we returned less than a week later. this time, I complained to one of the owners and they apologized immensely. The next week when my family and I returned, expecting to get the same waitress. However, upon being seated, we were informed that she was no longer with the company based on a previous complaints and bad reviews. The service this time ( April 10th 2025) was excellent; a complete 180. Our waitress this time introduced herself, was friendly, took the time to get to know us, and was prompt in service. Food was awful and expensive for what you get. The Pasta E Fagioli wasn't anything like I've ever eaten or made. Tasted like bean soup, no flavor. Co-worker order the chicken piccata lacked lemon flavor and there were no capers. Even unsatisfied with their bread, very doughy. I rate a negative experience. read more
