Update 2/2026. For the second year we are spending a couple of weeks in Inverness, enjoying the wonderful symbiotic arrangement of watching over a friend's pet while staying in their beautiful Florida home. And for the second year, we made sure to dine at La Pergola, including one night eating in and another ordering takeout. The service continues to be lovely. I always enjoy chatting with the owner, a fellow compatriot, which adds a warm personal touch to the experience. This time, however, the food did not quite live up to our memory of last year. It wasn't bad, just not particularly flavorful or memorable. The biggest disappointment for me was the fugazzeta pizza, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite styles of pizza. The onions were cut too thick and not cooked enough, and the cheese lacked that glorious overflowing generosity that fugazzeta lovers dream about. On another visit we ordered the grilled brochettes, which unfortunately came well done instead of the medium I had requested and could have used more seasoning. The meat ravioli were decent, though the pasta itself felt a bit thick and chewy. That said, the service remained excellent, both dining in and during our takeout order, which is always appreciated. I truly hope they regroup and that next year brings a stronger culinary showing. Running a restaurant is not easy, and places like this deserve a little patience. Besides, I'm not giving up. After all, they are currently my only lifeline to a proper fugazzeta in town. read more

Four of us went to have lunch here yesterday. We sat outside, which was fine other than the table needed a good scrubbing. The server had trouble understanding what my friend was asking for so she did not get exactly what she ordered. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was OK. My friend had the pizza and she said it was OK, but she's the one who didn't get the topping she asked for on her pizza. You can see that one of the slices of pizza has olives and banana peppers thrown on it after the fact. The other slice was supposed to have pepperoni on it, but was just a cheese pizza. Not good. Server did not come back to ask how everything was. The two others of us had chicken Parmesan sub and a meatball sub. Both said it was OK. So, this is an OK place to eat, but not great. I ordered a small salad and was shocked at the size for $5! One of my friends didn't even get the drink she ordered and we didn't get refills on our drinks. I think there was only one man working on all the tables. Bathroom was fine, although there was no toilet paper. This place wouldn't be a choice for me to go back. read more

It was a quiet afternoon when we stumbled on this little place hidden in a small shopping mall. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the Caribbean chicken with black beans and rice (delicious!) and fried plantains. I would definitely come here again and plan to next time we're in this part of Florida. read more

I have wanted to try this place at their other location and was happy to see they opened up in Inverness..it was cutely decorated inside and very nice ..we were greeted promptly and our order taken..they have a very nice menu with lots of choices...Antipasto and the Chicken Parm Sandwich were ordered today...the food came out piping hot and oh my goodness, what a nice size Sandwich..it was served with French Fries...Antipasto was very large too, this was the larger size that was ordered...they also brought our Garlic Knots..very good food and am looking forward to coming back and trying some other things as well...food was delicious and cooked perfectly! read more

Love the food here! We order at least once a week. Pizza is amazing but the empanadas are to die for! Service is good as it's a rather small restaurant it all depends but great food is worth the wait if you have too. My husband had the lasagna which he said was good. He had lasagna yrs ago that was great so he's still grading things on that. read more

When I walked in I was going to walk out. My wife said no I'm hungry and dont judge a book by its cover. Well I tell you what you are getting GREAT food at a casual spot. I've been to fine dining places that can't even come close to the food taste, quality and most of all value!! We will be back for sure. My wife ordered the chicken francaise and the face she made brought her back to her Uncle's house its special when you take a bite of food and it brings you back to a memory. It was that good plus the garlic knots where off the chain good. I ordered the Churrassco steak and it didn't disappoint cooked to perfect temperature accompanied with the famous sauce absolutely amazing. Oh and the wine list is impressive too. If you are a pizza snob you will love the pizza too. Jane our server and her sister where amazing very knowledgeable. Food was very authentic and good. The service was a little slow. The Italian atmosphere was nice.

Never again. 7 in meatball sub $18 was soggy and gross. Fries undercooked. Pizza will have to be reheated to eat.

An excellent restaurant in downtown Inverness. My husband and I had the meat for two which was grilled to perfection, all the meat was so tender and juicy. The kids cheese pizza was also very good with a light crust. The house salad was so fresh and crisp even the crutons tasted like they were homemade. A nice surprise in DT Inverness! The empanadas and pizza were outstanding! The people were more than kind! They even have a wine list, and not just wine "by the color". Highly recommend if you appreciate good quality ingredients. We will be back! read more

this was our first order from here. Heard giid things so figured we'd try it out. The pizza was pretty good, however one of them ended up with onions sparaticly mixed in with our mushrooms. That was not good because I am allergic and im very glad my kids found them and I did not eat any. Also, maybe a little less heavy handed on the oregano on top. Too much makes it all you can taste. And the mozzarella sticks were not crispy and cold. They tasted funny, so unfortunately we didn't finish them. We will give it another try possibly trying other menu items. read more

Had the cheese ravioli with pesto which comes with a salad and garlic rolls. A friend had the lasagne which was very tasty as well. Miguel our waiter was helpful and friendly. There's I believe 8 tables inside some seat 4 and others seat 2 but place looked clean and there's outdoor seating as well. Enjoyed our lunch out. Will be back. read more
