It was a solid pie with a crisp crust and not a lot of flop. Sauce was sweeter than I prefer but still a good all around pie. Service was friendly and efficient. Earned Angelo's an extra star.

If your ever out this way it is real Florida...Weeki Wachee to Inglis. Then to Dunnellon and Inverness. What a nice drive with the top down. Time for lunch and needing a pizza fix. On my way I had past two other YELP! destinations but they had people waiting and no bar area. Burger places. I was so relieved to see it was not very busy time, 1:30. I believe this is more of a dinner venue than pizza joint. I saw they had slices ready for service so two were on my list and a bud light. I did sit at the bar thought there would be someone tending it but it was too early for that. While waiting for the slices I had a chance to take everything in and it is a really nice layout. Slices arrived and didn't disappoint, thin and crispy and the most tasty sauce. Even the crust had a special something I'm not sure it was. Over all the pie there is worth the trip. If in the area and needing a few quick slices, this is the spot. Give them try, peace.

Update 2/2026. For…read morethe second year we are spending a couple of weeks in Inverness, enjoying the wonderful symbiotic arrangement of watching over a friend's pet while staying in their beautiful Florida home. And for the second year, we made sure to dine at La Pergola, including one night eating in and another ordering takeout. The service continues to be lovely. I always enjoy chatting with the owner, a fellow compatriot, which adds a warm personal touch to the experience. This time, however, the food did not quite live up to our memory of last year. It wasn't bad, just not particularly flavorful or memorable. The biggest disappointment for me was the fugazzeta pizza, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite styles of pizza. The onions were cut too thick and not cooked enough, and the cheese lacked that glorious overflowing generosity that fugazzeta lovers dream about. On another visit we ordered the grilled brochettes, which unfortunately came well done instead of the medium I had requested and could have used more seasoning. The meat ravioli were decent, though the pasta itself felt a bit thick and chewy. That said, the service remained excellent, both dining in and during our takeout order, which is always appreciated. I truly hope they regroup and that next year brings a stronger culinary showing. Running a restaurant is not easy, and places like this deserve a little patience. Besides, I'm not giving up. After all, they are currently my only lifeline to a proper fugazzeta in town.
