Monster's Pizza monster sized treat. Mmmm

Great pizza. Enjoyed it immensely. Very accommodating with our requests. Delivered fresh and hot. We loved it.

The stromboli split in half (well, my half was bigger).

We were biking the Withlacoochee State Trail and saw the little sign for "Pizza Subs Salads" and a path through the brush to Monster's Pizza. It's an unassuming storefront but it really paid off! The owner's were there and were helpful and delightful. As we were biking they recommended the Stromboli so we could eat it easily and they baked it up fresh and it was THE BEST. Their sign says "the biggest pizza around" but they are not messing around in being delicious as well. Amazing bread and full of topping while somehow managing to not be greasy even though it was stuffed with meat and cheese. We were blown away and highly recommend this place!

I love the calzone. It's humongous, delicious, and a great price when everything costs so much. Friendly staff with a small town feel.

It was a solid pie with a crisp crust and not a lot of flop. Sauce was sweeter than I prefer but still a good all around pie. Service was friendly and efficient. Earned Angelo's an extra star.

On my way I had past two other YELP! destinations but they had people waiting and no bar area. Burger places. I was so relieved to see it was not very busy time, 1:30. I believe this is more of a dinner venue than pizza joint. I saw they had slices ready for service so two were on my list and a bud light. I did sit at the bar thought there would be someone tending it but it was too early for that. While waiting for the slices I had a chance to take everything in and it is a really nice layout. Slices arrived and didn't disappoint, thin and crispy and the most tasty sauce. Even the crust had a special something I'm not sure it was. Over all the pie there is worth the trip. If in the area and needing a few quick slices, this is the spot. Give them try, peace.

On the surface it looked good but as soon as I went to pull a slice out, no longer than15 minutes from purchase, it was quickly evident that it was not fully cooked. Amongst the long list of problems we've experienced at this pizza restaurant, this became the final straw to validate that we won't ever visit this pizza restaurant in the future. Their prices for this pizza is a bit higher than what would be appropriate for the quality overall (when the items are actually cooked thoroughly) but we would pay the cost because it was either that or little Caesar if we wanted pizza. We will not be back. We will, however, make our own moving forward because then we will know what "homemade sauce and fresh toppings" truly mean because we will be the ones handling them (and making them). I won't comment on past experiences because it was always my hope that businesses figure out their action plans and adjust as they progress. Obviously I feel this to not be the case any longer and rely on the thought that they are the only pizza game in town. Good luck if you decide to order from Dominik's and check your pizza and anything else you order, before you leave their counter. Don't get all the way home to realize your hope for a decent pizza or calzone is quickly extinguished because the dough is soggy and raw.

And for the second year, we made sure to dine at La Pergola, including one night eating in and another ordering takeout. The service continues to be lovely. I always enjoy chatting with the owner, a fellow compatriot, which adds a warm personal touch to the experience. This time, however, the food did not quite live up to our memory of last year. It wasn't bad, just not particularly flavorful or memorable. The biggest disappointment for me was the fugazzeta pizza, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite styles of pizza. The onions were cut too thick and not cooked enough, and the cheese lacked that glorious overflowing generosity that fugazzeta lovers dream about. On another visit we ordered the grilled brochettes, which unfortunately came well done instead of the medium I had requested and could have used more seasoning. The meat ravioli were decent, though the pasta itself felt a bit thick and chewy. That said, the service remained excellent, both dining in and during our takeout order, which is always appreciated. I truly hope they regroup and that next year brings a stronger culinary showing. Running a restaurant is not easy, and places like this deserve a little patience. Besides, I'm not giving up. After all, they are currently my only lifeline to a proper fugazzeta in town.
