A decor a bit dated and nothing special I was immediately seated and provided with a menu. I asked the waitress for recommendations and went ahead in ordered them. Fried green beans, side salad, and the bbq chicken pizza. I was told that the chicken pizza had very little barbecue sauce on it and that the base was actually marinara sauce. The fried green beans came out and they were absolutely delicious. The coating stayed on them and they were served with ranch. The side salad was just that a bunch of lettuce with a cucumber, very small amount of cheese, tomato. Not so great. The pizza arrived and first thing I noticed was there was only maybe eight little pieces of chicken on it and a whole pond of liquid barbecue sauce. The middle of it was raw and there was way too much barbecue sauce. I was hungry, so I took a slice that of course was so limp that the sauce dripped off of it. I bit into a piece of chicken that was gristle. Nasty! Absolutely the worst barbecue chicken and dough that I have ever had. They must've used a half a bottle of barbecue sauce on it and I did not even see any marinara sauce or cheese. That will be the last time I eat here. The prices were higher than most pizzerias. Two stars is because the waitress was actually very nice but very misguided.

Besides that, the pies are always on point. The slices that are in the window ready to go, always deliver. This place takes the crown. I was first introduced via a friend after a day on the lake (terrified of water sports so this made it worth it) preordered on the phone, everything was ready when I showed up and it was an in and out operation 10/10. My go to's BBQ chicken, Pep and the chicken Vodka. The verity and depth of their bag at Santoro's is crazy. They don't miss. I have brought so many people here for the taste, quality and easy of access. I was here before Dave Portnoy and I have lived through the hectic times after Dave (A.D. - after Dave) and they still show up week in and week out. Thanks for holding it down for so many years. You all are the best. They even have a fun tiktok account. One stop shop, heck yeah.

A friend had clued me in that this was the best pizza that Tampa had to offer, so a group of us who either currently live in or formerly lived in NJ went to try it out to see if it measures up. The place gives off old school vibes, with plenty of New York sports pictures, jerseys, and memorabilia up on the walls, as well as having that distinct smell of a proper NJ area pizzeria that sets your expectations pretty high. We wanted to try out a variety of items, so we started off with the mozzarella sticks and garlic knots. The mozzarella sticks (3/5) were forgettably average, with minimal taste in the breading and served up with an underwhelming tomato sauce (wasn't a proper marinara sauce). The garlic knots (4.5/5) were highly impressive, served piping hot in a very unique pull-apart portion. It was delicious and the texture of it was just right, though one minor critique was that the accompanying sauce was more butter with a lesser garlic taste than I'm used to (more emphasis on olive oil & garlic, and less emphasis on butter back home in NJ). The pizza (3.75/5) was probably one of the best I've had in the state of Florida, with a combination of good tasting crust, sauce, and cheese reminiscent of flavors of a proper Jersey pizzeria. The base was cooked to perfection, and we were happy to have tried it out shortly after it came out of the oven. While there was a touch of excess oil on the pizza surface and it would get lost in mediocrity if it was served up in NJ, I found it highly impressive for Florida pizza, as it sure to satisfy any pizza craving. Service (5/5) was excellent from staff checking in on customers regularly with an enthusiastic and helpful energy. Santoro's Pizzeria is a spot I would return to, and would recommend them to others looking for quality pizza (and garlic knots) in Tampa.

Street parking was available and easy to find on a Saturday night at 6pm. They do not take reservations but we thankfully were able to be seated immediately and seemed to have beat the crowd that came after us. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He checked on us, refilled our water, and made sure our experience was great! I started off with a Passionfruit Martini. This was delicious and refreshing. We shared the Ipomodori Verdi Fritti, which are fried green tomatoes topped with burrata, goat cheese, tzatziki sauce, and a balsamic glaze. Very good and flavorful! The breading was not thick and it was perfect! For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Champagne, which is shrimp, tomatoes, champagne, roasted garlic cream, and spinach with a fettuccine pasta topped with a crostini. This was amazing! Absolutely fantastic! Perfect for at least 2-3 meals for me. We were also served complimentary bread and oil and herb dip. Very good! Would definitely come back and recommend! Quite a few items on the menu sounded delicious and made it hard to choose!
