I've heard friends rave about this place and finally got the chance to check it out! It's on a Main Street in downtown Dade City. Street parking was available and easy to find on a Saturday night at 6pm. They do not take reservations but we thankfully were able to be seated immediately and seemed to have beat the crowd that came after us. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He checked on us, refilled our water, and made sure our experience was great! I started off with a Passionfruit Martini. This was delicious and refreshing. We shared the Ipomodori Verdi Fritti, which are fried green tomatoes topped with burrata, goat cheese, tzatziki sauce, and a balsamic glaze. Very good and flavorful! The breading was not thick and it was perfect! For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Champagne, which is shrimp, tomatoes, champagne, roasted garlic cream, and spinach with a fettuccine pasta topped with a crostini. This was amazing! Absolutely fantastic! Perfect for at least 2-3 meals for me. We were also served complimentary bread and oil and herb dip. Very good! Would definitely come back and recommend! This is our favorite restaurant in Dade as well as the area! We have tried many different meals but our favorites are the Shrimp champagne and spaghetti. Best Alfredo we have had in long time! First time in the area and found this spot on Yelp. Wow!!! It is located in the cute downtown of Dade City. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. All of our food was delicious, full of wonderful flavors and fresh! The bread was so good and unique. It reminds me of a croissant mixed with a garlic knot. I can't say enough about the food here! This place was like a solid 3.5 stars. I'll start with the positives. Server was excellent..I wish I remembered her name. She was the only one not dressed in the black servers attire. The stuffed peppers she recommended, EXCELLENT. I'd order it again. The bechamel sauce was so good, I'd eat a bowl of it. The chicken parm was just okay according to my husband. The negatives....you can't make a reservation and they are typically busy for dinner. A party of 4 got seated before us just because the table was big and we'd already been waiting well before they walked in. Seems unfair to me. The restaurant is pretty small too which doesn't help with the fact they don't take reservations. The pear purses pasta dish wasn't what I was expecting. I've had a similar menu item at another restaurant in Tampa and they actually make it with a sweet cheese stuffing like the pear is caramelized in it so I had way to high of expectations for what I ended up getting here. You get a few pasta purses that's just stuffed with cheese and then two pieces of ravioli also just stuffed with cheese. Then a grilled pear which was hard and not good at all. read more

Transport to Italy! We truly enjoyed our visit to Olio in the heart of downtown Dade City! What a fabulous Italian ristorante in an excellent location. They have outdoor seating and indoor tables of high tops and regular height, and a small bar. Fun glittery flooring lights up your way to an Italian escape. The service was top notch and we loved our waiter who was attentive and kind. The burrata appetizer was out of this world! Symphony of flavors with salty prosciutto, sweet melon, and creamy burrata cheese all tied together with seasonings and olive oil. I had the chicken Parmesan which was classic and hearty! Huge portion sizes. My husband indulged with the chicken with shrimp, Petti di Pollo Gambretto- it was PHENOMENAL. I did a take out order of their Spaghetti Bolognese. I was pleasantly surprised because to me it is hard to get spaghetti in a restaurant that tastes good. The sauce was tasty and had a good amount of meat in it. The noodles were just the way I like them. They are close to me so I'm sure will try something else of theirs. read more

Three of us had a wonderful meal on Saturday. Our waiter was prompt and courteous. Their Eggplant Parmesan was positively the best I've had in ages. Everything we ordered was fantastic and you can really tell this place puts love into their cooking. But the real star of the evening might have been our server, Eddy. Not only did he take great care of us, but he also had the most charming Italian accent... and let's just say he was pretty easy on the eyes too. My aunt was visiting from Chicago and between the great food and Eddy's charm, she may not want to leave Florida now. We love supporting small-town local restaurants, and Ollio is definitely a gem. We were waiting when they opened the doors on Mother's Day. An hour and a half layer, we were still waiting. People who came in after us were leaving with their doggie bags. My house salad showed up an hour and thrty-eight minutes after I ordered it. There is nothing fun or recreational about being held hostage while you're hungry. There's nothing cool about spending your day off, waiting for food. The food, when it finally showed up, was pretty good. Not the worst lasagna. Not the best either. 6/27/24 - A group of 8 of us had lunch today. It was a warm welcome with a staff member opening the door (wish I could remember her name) for some who have some challenges with walking. It's been a long time since I've seen that done and I noticed that this was done for a few other people who came in after us. A little thing that can mean so much! A table has already been set for us as we had a reservation. Our server, Dasie, was just as perky and helpful as could be with great pacing. She let us talk a bit as we all came from Tampa and hadn't seen one another in a while. The restaurant is small and named for the chef, who we met when she came out to debone fish that one of our group ordered. Several different items were selected by the group. Portions are generous. What wasn't finished was definitely taken home. Chairs are larger than normal and comfortable as a dining room chair really should be. Staff also assisted with moving some chairs so our group had a bit more space and canes can be hard to use when spacing is tight. The menu isn't huge but it has a nice variety of selections. I skipped an appetizer opting to order the mussels in a white wine & garlic sauce as my entree, after asking Dasie if it was large enough for a full meal. She agreed it could be. In my opinion as an appetizer it could easily have been shared by up to 4. The surprise was some crisp apple slices on the edge of the bowl which also had 2 small slices of bread. I was so eager to start on them I didn't remember to take a photo. I polished off every one, as well as the apples and bread. It was nice to have a separate bowl brought at the same time for the depositing of the empty shells, rather than having to ask for one. Other staff also helped bringing food out, and checking on the table for napkins and other needs. Normally I wouldn't order dessert for lunch, but the options were chocolate cake, tiramisu, or Spaghetti Ice Cream. Dasie explained that it is home made vanilla ice cream that's presented like a plate of spaghetti. It was enough for 4 of us to share! I did not forget to get a photo of it, which I've included here. Another surprise was the whipped cream under the "spaghetti". The topping is made from strawberries, in a jellied sauce. The "parmesan cheese" is actually white chocolate nuggets. OMG, if I lived near by I'd just go for coffee and the spaghetti ice cream! Lunch was a delightful and delicious experience! This is a GEM of a place! read more

Very nice appearance Italian restaurant. We were greeted and actually were the first ones in for lunch. We've been wanting to try this place for a while. Started off getting sweet tea when we ask for unsweetened.. ok, not a big deal, it happens. Bread came out with some oil. I like to add salt, pepper and some grated cheese, but none were available. The bread was the highlight of the meal, light and very tasty. Salad followed and if it would have had more than a sprinkle of dressing I would have enjoyed it more. The salad did come with watermelon, cantaloupe and a grape and they were all delicious. The main entree arrive. Penne pasta, cream sauce and chicken was very average. The tortellini had I think was supposed to be a vodka sauce, it was very disappointing. Not an Italian experience we had hoped for. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but it might be a long while before we try it again. read more

Really great Italian food. The stuffed banana pepper appetizer was excellent-not too spicy, just right. The shrimp champagne and lasagne were excellent too. The serving size was just enough to get some left-overs for home. Just a suggestion to management...the swivel chairs were very comfortable, but a bit shabby. Very cute small place! The bread they give is 100 !! I really liked the lamb chops .. the chicken funghi the waiter recommended was good but honestly they can go without the peas.. very soggy and cold. I didn't like it.. and they didn't give as much sauce on the chicken so it was a plain cutlet. I like the fig decor they put .. the dessert was great but I didn't see it was gelato and then whipped cream inside. But it tasted great.. I hope they make the minor changes for the sides and hopefully they keep the same quality and prices and this should stay a success ! read more

This was our first time here. We came here for Valentine's Day and tried their special #2. It came with Antipasto italiano, Salad, pollo sugo do funghi, lamb and shrimp pasta, potatoes, 2 glasses of sangria and spaghetti ice cream.
