I'm only giving this place two stars because I can respect the fact that I had good experiences here years ago. It used to be a favorite of my dad's, and whenever I came to visit, we would always stop in. I had heard it had gone downhill, but I decided to give it another shot because I always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, what I experienced this last visit was disheartening and unprofessional. Last week, I ordered a couple of meals with plenty of time to pick them up before a football game. When I arrived, the girl behind the counter asked the cook if the order was ready, and he said no. The two of them then got into an argument in front of customers about when she was supposed to press a button in the system to notify Grubhub that the food was ready. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. They apologized and told me they hadn't even started the food yet, so it would be another 15-20 minutes. I waited patiently in my car, went back in, and the food was finally hot, so I rushed home. Once I opened my meal, I realized they gave me the wrong order. Instead of the ziti and eggplant meal I ordered, they gave me plain baked ziti -- and it was very dry. I called immediately, and the girl told me they could remake it, but only if I drove all the way back. After already waiting an extra 20 minutes, I asked if there was another option. She said they could offer a gift certificate, but only when the manager returned. She promised the manager would call me. I never heard from anyone. The next day I called again and was told the manager wouldn't be in until Wednesday. I waited, and Wednesday came and went with no follow-up at all. For a $20 order, the situation could have been handled so easily. Instead, I listened to staff arguing, received the wrong meal, and then got zero accountability or customer service afterward. They even tried to blame the Grubhub system until they finally admitted they could see I did order eggplant and ziti. What happened to simply taking care of the customer? We've been coming here for years, but after this experience, we won't be back. Plenty of other Italian restaurants know how to treat people better. read more

The sauces were rich and satisfying and no reflux symptoms. Classic music played with a matching environment. The service was immediate and one of the big wigs came and asked what we thought. The portions adequate and plated well. Overall a nice place for a classic Italian family style dinner with ambience. Tatiana, our server, gave high end service focusing on our taste. My new secret hideaway. Nice little place in the plaza. Not a big dining area, but they more than make up for it in the atmosphere. From the minute you open the door it feels warm and inviting. Normally I don't talk much about the salad but today I will. The House Salad Dressing is down right phenomenal. The chicken and veal dishes were spot on too. I almost feel like I should keep this place to myself, its size and quality make reservations a good idea, so I guess the secret is already out. read more

The good and drinks here are consistent which is a huge plus when it comes to Italian food in Spring Hill. When you walk in you are greeting well and taken to your table where you experience the great service , make you feel like you are dining in Europe somewhere. The ambience is very Italian feeling. If you want real Italian food served in a location reminiscent of Naples, this is your place. The menu includes all of the best food you can find, including a great variety of pizza, which my husband eagerly looks forward to ordering. Our waitress Gina welcomed us with a great smile, and constantly checked on us while we listened to Italian love songs in the background. We absolutely loved the garlic and herbs mixed together with the olive oil for dipping the fresh bread still warm from the oven. I ordered the Mama D's trio - gnocchi, eggplant rollatini and chicken parmigiana - enough for three people or take home for dinner tomorrow! Lovely unpretentious charming Italian restaurant. The entry is in the takeout area and open kitchen. Nice friendly greeting on arrival. To the right is the dining room.Maybe 15 tables so reservations are advisable . Quaint traditional decor but not old feeling. White paper table covers give a clean appearance. Cloth napkins are a nice touch The menu is online and enough selection to please everyone. Our server Gina was prompt and friendly Quick water and wine order ( no mixed drinks) Gina was very knowledgeable about the menu. I had lots of questions The bread is fresh ,warm and amazing. The dipping oil was garlicky and flavorful with a touch of heat I ordered the chicken Milanese with angel hair pasta. My brother got the grouper and linguine with house red sauce We were seated just after a table of 10 had just ordered so we knew it would be a wait. Our salads were served quickly and very fresh greens. The dressing is house made. Creamy garlic and very good The table of 10 and the table of 6 made the wait for our dinners a long wait ( over one hour) When our meals came and my order had the wrong cook on the chicken but Gina took it quickly back and it was fixed within 5 minutes thank goodness. The cook on the grouper was perfect and it was very fresh and excellent flavor Our meals were delicious and gladly worth the wait. It was clear that care was taken to prepare our food You have to be prepared for waiting for the quality of food presented. Definitely not fast food So if personal attention is important ask for Gina. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, large. Mussels bianca and a linguine with clams through yelp for pick up. It was to be ready in 30 minutes, great! I had arrived early and decided to sit and wait inside. It was not the cleanest entry and waiting area. The chairs were falling apart. One cushion so bad it needed a seat pad over the orginal pad to hide how shredded apart it is. Cobwebs over the light fixtures which held no bulbs. No impressive. However, the cooks and kitchen was right behind the counter in plain view, so i watched. The cooks had no filter. Talking of their disgusts with eachother, jobs, work, life. Okay. No harm there, except for the fact your cursing loud enough for the restaraunt to hear. One cook seemed to take a bite of everything he cooked and plated, off of the plate. Now im a cook. Trying or taste testing is one thing. Sneaking food off a plate for the sake of hunger pleasing is another. What did it for me was one of them smashed a plate on the floor just to get a rise out of the waitresses. By that time i was ready get out of there. My food was 25 minutes late. One of the hosts asked if id like something to drink while i waited but my opinion was too far gone by that point. I just wanted out. I dont like shaming places. So id say, if you want a pizza to go from here. Great. Get it delivered. It was just okay, but passed as pizza. The food is not authentic by any means. So if your coming here for an anniversary dinner and experience, id say find elsewhere. Sad but true. Excellent local Italian restaurant that plenty of locals already know about...we (2 of us) were able to get in without a reservation on Sunday evening but it was a full house. Will def make a res next time. The food and service were excellent. Agree with other reviewers that the sauces, seasonings, and dressings were exceptional. I had the Stuffed Chicken Parm and my wife had the Veal Saltimbocca. I'm docking a star only because the veal wasn't quite as tender as we would have hoped, but we'll definitely still be back to try other offerings. The portions were also plentiful and like most others, we left with plenty of leftovers for another meal, so in that way the prices proved quite reasonable. read more

went here for dinner with friends, have been here many times and the food is always wonderful, which is why it saddens me to tell you about this, after waiting patiently for 20 minutes for table service I asked for the wine list, always had one before, but was told by the young man that there was no wine list, so I asked what wine they offered, he replied red and white, I said yes but which ones, he stormed off saying he would get us someone else, as he wasn't putting up with this. I work retail, and have always treated service workers with the utmost respect. this made me so very sad, I will never return. read more

I came here with my parents. This is one of their favorite spots. The meal was very good although the service was slower. I have been coming to this establishment since 2013. Today, It was lunch time and all I wanted was a slice to go. The outstanding staff accommodated me by making a special slice for me. I am from Brooklyn, and very used to that thin crust with just the right amount of sauce, cheese and oregano. The gentleman making the pizza was from Italy and his name was Guy. Took a friend there for dinner tonight 1/25/26, was seated immediately, had to wait for a waitress, took our order of Lasagna and both had a glass of wine, then bread was placed on our table with oil. The bread plate had 3 pieces of bread and 3 small end piece which all were very hard. Asked for more bread, waited and asked where it was. We were told it was warming in the oven. Finally received the bread which was no better than the other serving. Then our salads arrived which neither which were not that impressive. You had to ask whoever walked by for something twice. Then came our Lasagna which was just warm and was not a very large piece. Then we asked for a dessert menu, there was none, but our waitress gave us a choice of 3 and we both chose Tiramisu since it was made on site. That came to our table, rather large portions, but sloppy. We were told we were given more since it was the end of the tray. Had to ask twice for the coffee, we were told it was heating, then they brought 2 cups of coffee to the table, we only ordered one, but paid for two. My friend could not even drink the coffee because it was so bad. During this entire time, we really never knew who our waitress was. Both were very unprofessional. I felt so bad since I recommended this place. I will never do that again. It was one of the worst experiences we ever had. Would not return. It was a waste of money, costing almost $100.00. we have been here several times but something's changed. we went last week for my wife's birthday and it was truly disappointing. she ordered the veal Marsala. when it came out the two little veal cutlets were curled up and tough due to being overcooked . I ordered the Pescatore which consisted of shrimp ,mussels, clams, scallops and calamari. The mussels smelled fishy, there was no calamari, the Scallops were so small like the size of my pinky fingernail and the clams were tiny also. They did not charge us for the veal Marsala and when I questioned my dish the managers response was that's what we have been using for the past year. We have given them so many chances because when the food is FINALLY ready it's generally quite good, but after tonight we're done with this restaurant. We went on our anniversary and it took two full hours to get served with only a few tables full. The next time we went we waited over 30 minutes to get our order taken. We have friends that won't go back because they've had the same experience. Tonight we called in pizzas and they promised they would be ready in an hour. Let me start off by saying when they handed me the pizza box It felt like there were three pizzas in there and I thought to myself this is a good sign and mind you this is Sicilian pizza. So I carried it home and dug in. The first thing I noticed besides the weight is how beautiful this was crafted and the smell was heavenly. I'm from Connecticut which has been voted numerous times the best pizza in the United States so I'll flaunt that part of my resume with reckless abandon like it means anything in this review. I sampled a corner piece first and noticed why this pizza was so heavy this was a pizza like my mom used to make when I grew up in Connecticut Nice thick crust with square cut slices. I don't know if this looked better than it tasted or tasted better than it looked both are actually a good thing as this pizza was delicious. The cheese was on the bottom the right amount of sauce on top with parmesan cheese and basil leaves sprinkled on top to bring it home. The sauce was fabulous It had just the right amount of brightness to it but sat back and blended with the cheeses perfectly. For pizza this thick you would think that the dough would be undercooked but it wasn't It was perfectly cooked had a nice crust with a nice al dente crunch when you bite down on it. This was Aunt Josie's APizza. (Ah Pete's) And I was entertaining the thought of adding prosciutto or another choice side but I sustained and just got it off the menu. The staff was very friendly and professional and treated me like they knew me. I'm very impressed and when I come back it'll be to sit down and enjoy a nice meal with my wife. We arrived at 5:30 pm and the dinning room was pretty much empty. The two waiters did not get busy the whole time. First impression was nice but nothing really draws your eye. The menu is pretty basic but they lack bucatini pasta which I expected to see at a Napoleon styled restaurant. To really summarize it best the flavors are off from what they should be they don't use fresh garlic and I suspect the herbs are not fresh either. They waitstaff did not take the time to learn how to pronounce simple names like 'caprese' and they were unaware of what the kitchen had for specials when we arrived. Specific let downs were the caprese which used Roma tomato (instead of heirloom) and barely a pinch of basil (which looked like a pesto, not a fresh basil leaf). The waiter offered us Parmesan cheese then promptly forgot to bring it, we finally waved him back down he brought us a shaker of grated cheese which was stale. Based on the prices and quality I would not recommend anyone who expects Italian flavors to bother trying this place. Perhaps the pizza is better? Our server struggled to understand English, as I believe she was Croation, but we managed to get through and the food was cooked exactly as ordered and service was prompt. There was a bit of a delay before our main course was ready, but that showed me that it was cooked freshly. Excellent Italian Restaurant were the staff and owner makes you feel welcome and treats you like you are eating with family. Although a bit crowded this past Saturday evening the food was again, exceptional! I say this as some diners are inpatient and good fresh food takes time to make. We were fortunate to have Gina waiting on us. Wonder server with a great attitude, very customer focused and attentive. We dined on Chicken Parmigiana. & Chicken Milanese both dinners came with house made wonderful warm Italian Bread with house made oil for dipping, a salad (house or Cesar with house made dressings) or soup. Also a nice side of pasta of your choice and a very tasty sauce on the Chicken Parmigiana and lemon butter sauce for the Chicken Milanese. The restaurant ambiance makes you feel you are in a little Italian Village in Rome with soft music and very nice decorations. The owner cars and makes sure her guests-customers are happy as she always finds time to stop by which is an excellent touch. OK...I am not even sure what happened there last night. we had reservations for 6. Our server appeared to be out of it. He had a hard time time taken the order correctly. We got water fairly quick. Then he brought out a glass a wine at a time. Then we waited an hour and 15 minuted for him to deliver 4 salads. I had ordered a calzone. 2 hours later he brings out a large pizza for me....I accepted the pizza. Two people in our party got up and left. We kept asking for an update on the food. We where assured multiple times that it was being prepared. The server came over and apologized and said the meals where going to be comped. Great, but we never got them. On our way out we spotted the cook working on a to go order and we questioned him on what the issue was and he said he didn't even know we had ordered and half of what we ordered he had run out of anyway. My husband and I went to dinner at DeCristofaro's on 3/21/24 to celebrate our 28th anniversary. I selected this restaurant based on the reviews. The restaurant is about 40 mins from our home. We had a reservation and when we arrived, we were promptly seated. Our waitress came to take our drink order, but we had just sat down, and I wanted to look at the wine menu. She said she would go ahead and get us some water and then take our drink order. After about 10 mins she finally came back with our waters and took our drink orders. About another 10 mins went by before our glass of wine and a beer were brought to us. Now the restaurant has about 11 tables. When we go there 5 tables had people. Three of the tables were already eating and two were actually finishing up and leaving. That left 2 other tables and us and there were two waitresses. When the waitress came back with our drink orders, we ordered an appetizer and thought we probably should put in our food order as well at that time. Another person brought us our appetizer. I later found out she was the manager. Our salads came about another 20 mins later. We then proceeded to wait another 30-40 mins for our food. By this time a few other persons came into the restaurant, while others left. One couple seated across from us, that came in about 30 mins after us, had their drinks, salads and food (eggplant parmesan and chicken parmesan) and were leaving, just about the time our food arrived. That couple remarked that they hoped our food was good, because we certainly waited long enough for it. Unfortunately, the food was subpar at best. Our appetizer was meatballs (I always like to order the meatballs when I'm trying a new Italian restaurant). The meatballs had way too much oregano in them. We ordered salad with the house dressing. The dressing was way too sweet. My husband had the Veal Marsala. The marsala sauce was extremely sweet. I had the Veal Picatta. The picatta sauce had so much lemon and capers and was sour. Picatta is supposed to be a white wine, lemon and caper sauce, but someone forgot the wine. The waitress offered to get me something else, but we had already waited so long for this food, I didn't dare try to order anything else. We even skipped dessert because at that point we just wanted to get out of there. The manager did go by a few tables and welcomed people, but she always just walked past us. The only conversation we had with her, was when we were on our way out and I thanked her for totally ruining our anniversary. We had a very enjoyable dining experience. It is a small, lovely restaurant in a busy plaza. The food was good with generous portions, service was great and prices were as excepted. I strongly suggest making reservations. They do have outdoor seating but must open it when weather permits. The only negative I had was the noise level. We'll go back again when it gets a little warmer & try the outdoor seating. It's worth the try. Just a note: my husband is in a power wheelchair, and though they made every accommodation for him, bc of the small interior, it was tight for him. He'd still go again. read more
