I ordered a new Quail dish, $30 and my wife ordered Fettuccini stuffed with pear and ricotta $22. We both loved our meal. We also enjoyed a glass of sweet red wine that was awesome. The atmosphere is perfect for date night with low level lighting and table candles with cloth napkins. The service provided by Allen was second to none. He was also joined by a young lady whose name I did not get because her English was limited. Nonetheless, she was wonderful and she did her best to understand what we wanted and could not have been better for her efforts. This is definitely a place for a romantic dinner and I can tell you that the food is memorable and you will definitely return. I didn't appreciate the waiter who took care of us being rude about a simple question. 2. I didn't like the prices of certain items which I understand in a way but mostly eh in my opinion. ‍ 3. The one time I actually wanted pizza when you're an ITALIAN RESTAURANT and you're not serving it to the people in the restaurant??? TODAY out of all days?? I understand I guess for pickups and delivery. ‍‍ 4. I didn't like how they mention that we had 2 batches of garlic rolls rudely like they didn't even mention that they would charge us for it after I asked about the garlic roll that was missing on my main dish. 5. In addition to #4, you didn't even bring the garlic roll that comes with my meal and wanted to charge for it because of the 2 batches of garlic rolls. Red Flag. Made me upset. 6. The first Garlic rolls I had were cold but the second was better. Third... was a bit of both. 7. Don't like the charge for sharing a dish. 8. Don't like how I couldn't exchange House Salad with Caesar Salad as it is NOT INCLUDED in the meal. Would I come back? Maybe just to eat it to go? Not sure honestly. This place could be better. Absolutely a 10/10. The ambiance is perfect, dark and moody, not too quiet or too loud. The service was stellar, friendly and attentive. The food was to die for. The pasta with pear, prosciutto, and truffle oil was incredible. The house Prosecco was great. They give generous wine pours. I just wish I lived closer because this would be a regular spot. this is our favorite place in Ocala. The staff are amazing and the food is always hot, fresh and delicious. My favorite is Louisa's favorite chicken ( with veggies instead of pasta). The sauce is heavenly and chicken is so tender. Not to mention, I always bring 1/2 home. The soups are amazing as is the cheesecake. My only downside is the acoustics are not the best - when it is busy, it is sometimes hard to hear, bit we go either early or late so it is never a problem. read more

Visited Fiore's Cafe in Ocala for the first time and was happy to see the inside of the restaurant was nothing like the place its perched off at S Pine Ave. The ambiance is lovely and the menu had a nice variety of meals; some pricey but we were celebrating that night. I chose something simple, a Salmon dish with a cream sauce, but had to ask if they could just prepare it plain; I explicitly asked if I could request no pepper. After the appetizers and a salad everyone's meal came and so did mine; My plain Salmon entree with cracked pepper laced across the top. The salmon cut was a thick, premium center-cut loin and looked marvelous so I decided not to say anything until scrapping the cracked pepper from my meal was noticed by all at the table. I requested my server to take the pepper off in the kitchen because I cannot handle pepper well and the waiter kindly said "I told them NO PEPPER" he continued with "we will remake the meal". Well after too long, my second plate was presented to me. The salmon cut was totally different, a thinner, tail portion with very little flesh to eat. It was clear to everyone when I cut into it that it was overdone and I couldn't get through the first bite. It was so overcooked. We immediately called over the waiter, he fully understood and took the meal away and I ate the side veggies. At the end of the meal, we asked for the check, they wanted to give me dessert to compensate for the unfortunate experience. We didn't want the dessert but the waiter insisted. Our bill came and I was charged full price for my meal. $27 dollars for no salmon and a side plate of veggies. My very gentle husband took the manager aside to avoid embarrassing the waiter in front of my guests and other guests around us and although the manager agreed that the food was not cooked properly we had to pay despite the empathy. This episode showed me that they didn't care about me, nor the quality of what they served. They didn't stand the test of customer first and I am so disappointed that they didn't explain that we were going to be charged no matter what. I could have at least been offered my salmon as takeaway. read more

Then I saw the 1* from yesterday and felt compelled to say my piece: Romantic Ambiance: dimly lit, Italian tenors crooning in the background, linen napkins and fresh flowers, though it did get a bit noisy when the dining room was packed. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive without being pushy or pressuring. They allowed us plenty of time to peruse the menu while sipping our Nero D'abola--a nice Sicilian wine that can be hard to find, even in Italian restaurants. We began with Shrimp Cocktail and Beef Carpaccio. Both were succulent. Cocktail sauce was tangy and spicy. Carpaccio had crisp greens, savory cheese, and a lovely lemon flavor. The Pasta Fagioli Soup was great: creamy texture, nice balance of salty flavor and al dente pasta. House salad was fresh and the vinaigrette was a surprisingly delicious herbal red-wine concoction. My osso buco was so tender, I couldn't spear it with my fork. The saffron risotto was perfectly al dente and supremely flavorful. The Flounder special was tender, bathed in a delicious lemon wine sauce that elevated the spinach. The artichokes tasted fresh and tender, not the typical marinated type. Even the sun-dried tomatoes were great: a slight chew, a burst of flavor, and none too sweet either. Impressed with our dinners, we ordered a veggie pizza to go as well as one each of the homemade desserts: tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. Out of pure curiosity (as we were stuffed) we tasted the pizza when we arrived home and oh mah gawd: fantastic. A plethora of juicy veggies atop a blanket of cheese, a firm but not too thick crust to support it all plus a sprinkling of parmesan. I'm drooling as I write this. A bonus: we forgot to tell them to put dessert sauces on the side, but they did it automatically. That's the kind of service I adore. Cannoli texture was firm yet melted in the mouth. Filling was beautifully seasoned; vanilla, anise, cinnamon--just delightful. Cheesecake is old school style: velvety and not overly sweet. Chocolate Mousse is a chocolate lover's dream, and so airy. The tiramisu is tearfully gone. I inhaled it: nice balance of cream and spice with espresso flavor and somehow stable yet soaked cake. Whoever wrote the review (from CA) claiming this place is unsanitary is either ill-informed or mistaken. Perhaps they meant that review for a different restaurant. Having dined there yesterday and having been in the restaurant business for 20yrs myself (2 health inspections a yr = 40 A+ ratings at my establishment) I witnessed zero health code violations at Fiore's, and I usually see 1 or 2 in the dining room during a meal. If you didn't like it, just say you didn't like it. We each have our own tastes which is the true beauty of Yelp. But to claim that a restaurant is putting patrons' lives in danger with "unsanitary" practices *if they aren't* is immoral. On that note, a heartfelt thanks to all genuine Yelpers out there! Excellent choice! We live in the Ocala area but had never tried this place. The ambiance is wonderful, very relaxing, but chic. Italian food is the fare served. There were 4 in our party and we all tried something different - the flounder special with artichokes, spinach and tomatoes over pasta; fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti and home-made meatballs and eggplant Parmesan with a side of pasta. Each was delicious with generous portions served. We shared the 4 dessert offerings between us and each was delicious and made in-house. Chocolate mousse cake, cannoli, fruit topped cheese cake and tiramisu. Perfect ending to an excellent meal. The service was excellent as well. It is a very good cafe with nice ambiance and the restaurant was nicely decorated. We were seated as soon as we enter the restaurant and we were greeted by our server Efrain with the menus and water. After browsing through the menu we ordered Iced Tea, Butter Bread, Fettuccine Alfredo along with Chicken and Caesar Salad and Capellini Dilore with Chicken Soup. After 5-10 minutes the server bought our Caesar Salad and Chicken Soup. The salad was fresh and it was freshly prepared. We loved the salad and soup. I had an unexpectedly delightful experience at Fiore's Café. It's a typical Italian eatery with a pretty typical Italian menu- but they really impressed me with the attentive service, and well executed dishes. Mussels fra diavolo were in delicious red sauce (not excessively spicy), chicken piccata was pounded thin and tender with plenty of delicious lemony garlicky sauce. And the chocolate mousse cake... wow. That was a really nice surprise... silky semisweet chocolate with delicious raspberry sauce. Generous wine pours certainly add to the experience. AMAZING place!! I can't say enough great things about this place. The service was superb and even with them being absolutely packed, we didn't feel like we were overlooked or waiting too long. My husband had the lasagna and I had the squid ink pasta - both were phenomenal and I'm now obsessed with their squid ink pasta dish. Any time we go back I 1000% plan to get it every time.
